1. Rawa Pongal
Ingredients
100 gmsmoong dal
100 gmsghee
200 gmsrawa or semolina
Salt to taste
3 gms ginger
1 sprig curry leaves
5 gms cumin seeds
5 gms black pepper corns
20 gms split cashewnuts
Pinch asafoetida
Method
Soak and wash moong daland drain.
Cook the moong dalseparately.
Heat ghee in a kadaiand roastthe rawa untilgolden and set aside.
In a pan add 700 ml of water and boil, add grated ginger , lower the heat and
gradually add roasted rawa to the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid
lumps, also fold in the cooked moong dalto the same.
In a tempering pan, temper curry leaves, cumin and cashewnuts,with ghee ,
add asafoetida black pepper cornseither whole or ground.
Serve hot.
