Knowledge acquisition is the process of defining rules and ontologies for a knowledge-based system. It involves using natural language parsing and generation to facilitate acquiring knowledge from experts. The term was first used in the context of developing expert systems. There are different types of knowledge including declarative knowledge about facts and concepts, procedural knowledge about how to perform tasks, meta knowledge about other types of knowledge, heuristic knowledge representing experts' rules of thumb, and structural knowledge describing relationships between concepts.

2. KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION
Introduction:-knowledge acquisition is the process used to define the
rules and ontologies for a knowledge based system.
One approach to knowledge acquisition investigated was to use natural
language parsing and generation to facilitate knowledge acquisition.
The phrase was first used in conjunction with expert system to describe
the initial tasks association with developing an expert system.
3. KNOWLEDGE
Definition:-knowledge is awareness or familiarity gained by
experiences of facts , data , and situation.
Humans are best at understanding , reasoning and interpreting
knowledge.
Human knows things , which is knowledge and as per their
knowledge they perform various actions in the real world.

5. TYPES OF KNOWLEDGE
Declarative knowledge
Procedural knowledge
Meta knowledge
Heuristic knowledge
Structural knowledge
6. DECLARATIVE KNOWLEDGE
Declarative knowledge is to know about something
It includes concept , facts ,and object
It is also called descriptive knowledge and expressed in declarative
sentences
It is simpler than procedural language
7. PROCEDURAL KNOWLEDGE
It is also know as imperative knowledge
Procedural knowledge is a type of knowledge which is responsible
for knowing how to do something
It can be directly applied to any task
It includes rules , strategies , procedural , agendas etc.
Procedural knowledge depends on the task on which it can be
applied
8. META KNOWLEDGE
Meta knowledge :- Meta knowledge is a knowledge about a presented
knowledge. Meta knowledge is a fundamental conceptual instruction in
such research and scientific domains as knowledge engineering,
knowledge management. Knowledge about the other types of knowledge
is called meta knowledge
9. HEURISTIC KNOWLEDGE
Heuristic knowledge is representing knowledge of some expert in a
filed or subject.
Heuristic knowledge is rules of thumb based on previous
experiences awareness of approaches and which are good to work
but not guaranted.
10. STRUCTURAL KNOWLEDGE
Structural knowledge is basic knowledge to problem solving.
It describes relationships between various concepts such as kind of
part of and grouping of something.
It describes the relationship that exists between concepts or
objects.
