Alex:
• The Initiation phase has taught me the benefits of establishing goals and defining the project.
• Planning for risks, understanding how those risks will affect the project and what to do if the risk were to
occur.
• I learned I need to develop the closeout more in my personal process. Because it is a time to reflect
and this phase can provide significant insight to the effectiveness of a work flow.
Christina:
• Having more minds in the group would have provided more creative energy and help with building
the project. Pay attention to the details. If you miss one detail it can throw off your entire project.
Understand the risks in complete detail. It helps to plan for any issues that come up later.

Introduction Initiation Planning Execution Closing
Kid’s Health MD Presentation
Executive Report
The Initiation Phase was to gather the team together and come up with a charter for
the project. Brainstorming about the new site was the next process. We also started
up a Goggle Docs page for the project. This was to create an easy place to
exchange ideas and upload paper work. Research regarding kid’s health topics and
age group was assisted to the group. Meeting times was created for Mondays
before class 15 minutes and during class on Fridays. Brainstorming ideas included
mental health and physical health. We also researched other kids sites to get an
idea on what was out there for the children. We started working on the scope of the
project and chose the project manager.
The Planning Phase was to choose the age group to design the site for. The age
group most likely to surf the web was between 7 to 11 years of age.
We chose physical since we could pull the most facts for it. The topics would be
Hygiene, Eating well, and Dressing for the Weather. We went out and did more
research on these topics to better understand where to focus the areas on. The
content would be two games per area, topics to read on, recipes, and stories to
interact with. We would also include a character that would appear throughout the
site. He would be the site’s spokes person for the kids. We also thought a
discussion board would be a great way for kids to ask questions with a professions.
We also decided on our team to build this project. A programmer and two
animators would be brought in from off site. On site there would be two web
designers, Editor, and researcher. We thought doing two tests during building the
project would be a great idea.
The Execution Phase involved coming up with a flow chart of our new site. The
gantt chart, Budget, and final deliverables were drawn up.
The risks list was put together and finalized. The final look of the site was decided
upon. We went back through all of our pages to make sure spelling was corrected.
Overall, we look through all our notes to make sure that the project would work
out the way we wished it to. We filled out our changed requested form which I
rejected the time change. The change was two small to be worried with. The Scope
was finished up and finalized.
The Closing Phase includes what we have learned from the process of planning a
project. Alex felt that he learned the importance of proper planning. He felt strong
about the risks being listed and understood complete. This would be if any of the
risk were to happen than the team would be better inform on how to react. The first
two parts of the project management must be followed through in order to save
time and money in the execution phase. Having more ready mind to provide input
would have really adding to the site’s final look. Pay attention to the details they
really do count when the execution coming into play. The project moves fast when
all the work is planned out on paper. The Planning provides an opportunity to go
back and put out a step or idea that does not work. This in the end saves time and
money on the client. The intuitive state works in the beginning at the brainstorming
phase. The intuitive can still be used throughout the planning process. The
planning process just gives organizing to the ideas so they may come to life for the
clients.
Thank you!

  • 28. Alex: • The Initiation phase has taught me the benefits of establishing goals and defining the project. • Planning for risks, understanding how those risks will affect the project and what to do if the risk were to occur. • I learned I need to develop the closeout more in my personal process. Because it is a time to reflect and this phase can provide significant insight to the effectiveness of a work flow. Christina: • Having more minds in the group would have provided more creative energy and help with building the project. Pay attention to the details. If you miss one detail it can throw off your entire project. Understand the risks in complete detail. It helps to plan for any issues that come up later. 4.1 Lessons Learned Introduction Initiation Planning Execution Closing Kid’s Health MD Presentation
  • 29. 4.2 Executive Report (See Full PDF) Introduction Initiation Planning Execution Closing Kid’s Health MD Presentation
  • 30. Executive Report The Initiation Phase was to gather the team together and come up with a charter for the project. Brainstorming about the new site was the next process. We also started up a Goggle Docs page for the project. This was to create an easy place to exchange ideas and upload paper work. Research regarding kid’s health topics and age group was assisted to the group. Meeting times was created for Mondays before class 15 minutes and during class on Fridays. Brainstorming ideas included mental health and physical health. We also researched other kids sites to get an idea on what was out there for the children. We started working on the scope of the project and chose the project manager. The Planning Phase was to choose the age group to design the site for. The age group most likely to surf the web was between 7 to 11 years of age. We chose physical since we could pull the most facts for it. The topics would be Hygiene, Eating well, and Dressing for the Weather. We went out and did more research on these topics to better understand where to focus the areas on. The content would be two games per area, topics to read on, recipes, and stories to interact with. We would also include a character that would appear throughout the site. He would be the site’s spokes person for the kids. We also thought a discussion board would be a great way for kids to ask questions with a professions. We also decided on our team to build this project. A programmer and two animators would be brought in from off site. On site there would be two web designers, Editor, and researcher. We thought doing two tests during building the project would be a great idea. The Execution Phase involved coming up with a flow chart of our new site. The gantt chart, Budget, and final deliverables were drawn up. The risks list was put together and finalized. The final look of the site was decided upon. We went back through all of our pages to make sure spelling was corrected. Overall, we look through all our notes to make sure that the project would work out the way we wished it to. We filled out our changed requested form which I rejected the time change. The change was two small to be worried with. The Scope was finished up and finalized. The Closing Phase includes what we have learned from the process of planning a project. Alex felt that he learned the importance of proper planning. He felt strong about the risks being listed and understood complete. This would be if any of the risk were to happen than the team would be better inform on how to react. The first
  • 31. two parts of the project management must be followed through in order to save time and money in the execution phase. Having more ready mind to provide input would have really adding to the site’s final look. Pay attention to the details they really do count when the execution coming into play. The project moves fast when all the work is planned out on paper. The Planning provides an opportunity to go back and put out a step or idea that does not work. This in the end saves time and money on the client. The intuitive state works in the beginning at the brainstorming phase. The intuitive can still be used throughout the planning process. The planning process just gives organizing to the ideas so they may come to life for the clients.
