Searching Tips… Phrase Searching Activity Go to  www.google.com.au Type in “my boot scooting baby” What lyrics come up? Type in “I have a dream” What speech transcript comes up?
Searching Tips... Boolean Logic   – The Use of “OR”, “AND” and “NOT”.  Example: The questions for this search is “How are children affected by television?”    Type in “children OR television”  – highest number of results  Results will be given where the sites contain just “children”, just “television” and “children” and “television”.    Type in “children AND television”  – narrows the search  Results will only be given where both the words “children” and “television” are used.    Type in “television NOT children”  – narrows the search  Results will only be given that only contains the word “television” and NOT contain the word “children” at all.
Searching Tips… Advanced Search Option Activity Go to  www.google.com.au Click on the Advanced Search Option Try to search for something that was only published  this year  on  global warming , in  German Search for information on  Bill Clinton   without the words   Amazon  and  bookstore
