The remake of the 1980 film Fame follows talented teenagers as they overcome fears while attending the New York City High School of Performing Arts over four years. The film shows students dancing and singing their way to success. While the beginning draws the audience in with its energy, the film loses atmosphere and fails to differentiate itself from other performing arts movies. The characters and plot are predictable, and do not fully capture the passion of pursuing fame. Overall, the reviewer gives the film a 5 out of 10 and says it could have been much better.
1. Fame review – the remake of 1980 hits
Fame is a remake of the original which was in 1980 hit film. The film
fame is about a talented teen’s of dancers, actors and singers who over
come there fears while spending there 4 years at the New York City High
school of Performing Arts. It shows students ‘teens’ dance and sing their
way to a success.
Starring: Kay Panabaker, Walter Perez, Naturi Naughtan, Asher Book,
Ktherington Pane. Collins Pennie, Paul McGill. Bebe Nevwirth, Paul
Lacono, Charels s Putton
As the movie starts of with piano playing and all the lights lighting up
slowly by slowly the lady mention ‘you got big dream..’ that’s when the
light fully starts to bright up. This tells us the movie will be about fame
and being a success. It starts of with audition day with people all
practising there talent to get in the performing art school ‘P.A’. This
shows us that the teenagers want to have a place in the P.A school as they
came for the audition.
The beginning of the movie starts of with an energy which makes the
audience carry on watching the movie. This also brings the movie a little
glow to it as the film is slowly getting started. It’s about becoming a star.
The student fights there way to become a fame star. As we see there
audition scenes there students with out talent and there are students that
are talented this makes it perfectly clear for us that the students who have
talent they will be going in the P.A school. This is kind of predictable
because we know they have the talent and the judges will let them throw
however I think they could of shown there are people that does not have
the talent and there making them in a success.
Fame is all about chasing your dream and in this film it shows that
however this were all predictable because most of the teen film is similar
to this film. I think the director should of made a better than what is
because it starts of with amazing atmosphere and slowly it we lose that
atmosphere. In stead of making the film like all the other performing art
movies the film makers should think how they could make so much
different as the audience have seen other performing films.
The characters in the film is okay but could been better. In my opinion I
thing that they could of made the movie so much better as the movie is
about fame, so why not get the audience feel how fame is a passion for all
teen’s.
2. The genre of the movie is comedy, drama, family and musical. I think
there target audience would be mostly teenagers as the movie is about
students in their teens. When the trailer of the fame came out everyone
was buzzing to go see it how ever most of them came out of the cinemas
with disappointed as they saw the movie is really like. They made show
that you must see this film no matter where you are in the trailer with
glamour’s lights and beating sound which sounds like beat of a
audience’s heart.
If I was to give a rate I would give 5 out of 10 because I think they could
make the movie way better and more like it’s something really different
and a must see film. This movie is one of those Sunday evening where
there is nothing to watch on TV and you’ll probably watch this to make
your time pass. If it wasn’t for the performing at the middle and ate the
end maybe the movie wouldn’t be the less adored then ever. The movie is
not that bad it’s just not that good.
