Chapter 1.2: My Son is a Model

1. CHAPTER 1.2: MY SON IS A MODEL

2. Hello, and welcome back to the Crazy Eights! We return with a better slide design
and better font, if SlideShare decides to cooperate.
Remember the Mystery Baby? Well, say hello to the first son of Charlie and Finn:
Benjamin Eight! He’s named after my little brother. Aww. (But mainly because
Benjamin has eight letters.)

3. Here’s a closeup of the little bugger. He’s got a default skintone (number 2? 3? I
don’t know), his mom’s custom eyes, and his dad’s brown hair. What a cutie!
Finn didn’t want to put him down. She just kept trying to feed him, over and over.
I’d never taken her for the overprotective parent type, but these sims surprise me
day after day.

4. Immediately, I have Finn quit her job. She’s not making as much as Charlie ($500 to
his $700) so she’s going to be the one to stay at home with Benji, as nannies aren’t
allowed.
“…Benji?”
My brother never lets me call him Benji. I’m making up for 13 years of simple ‘Ben’.

5. Then, surprisingly:
Not much happens.
The Eights are good parents. Finn gets rid of the obsessing pretty soon, and I can
pretty much leave them to their own devices most of the time. It’s really refreshing.

6. Obligatory flamingo shot.

7. Remember how I said nothing happened? Well I was wrong. This happened.
Charlie is a master at breaking things.

8. And then he goes and clogs the toilet!
Charlie, you’re going to be the first death of this legacy. I can feel it.
No, I’m not going to kill him.
Maybe.

9. This toilet is so gross. No one ever cleans anything except the countertops in my
game, and I don’t know why. Well, whatever. It’s noon. Get the plunger!
…which takes ages. By the time she finishes it’s three o’clock and the shower has to
wait.

10. What? What are you doing?
“I threw up.”
Wait, why? Are you sick?
“I’m pregnant, aren’t you supposed to know that?”

11. A few moments later, she walks out to the living room to do this.
I completely forgot she was pregnant. Oops.

12. I also forgot to take birthday pictures! What kind of Sim player am I?
Anyway, this is Benji, in all his cuteness. I’m keeping the onesie, because pandas are
adorable, but the buzz cut’s gotta go.

13. Check out this cutie.
I can’t handle it.
(Ignore the arm clipping through the face and just look at the face.)

14. This time it’s Charlie who’s the over-involved parent. He’s rolling all the wants to
teach Benji to walk and talk, while Finn wants to eat spaghetti, flirt, and go on
vacation. Bad Finn! No vacations for you. They’re too expensive.
For now, anyway.

15. I’ve also given Charlie—originally knowledge—a secondary aspiration. With
Fortune and a few aspiration points, he can now give financial consultations online,
earning him $75 every once in a while. He also got a salary boost, which is really a
good thing now that he’s the only one working.

16. He also keeps rolling the same chance card—the one where you have to fix
something in the break room and your choices are to fix it without the instructions
manual or call the company. I’ve gotten it three times: twice with good outcome
(promotion) and once with bad (lost a tinkering point).
Kind of annoying.

17. That reminds me, did I mention the little tyke’s hobby is tinkering, too?
He takes after his dad. Cutie pie.

18. Can we just take a moment to appreciate this child. He’s so friggin’ cute, and sure to
be a looker when he grows up.
If heir polls weren’t mandatory for OWBCs, he’d be the heir for sure.
Unless his little sibling is cuter than him…

19. …that is, if his little sibling doesn’t burn to death!
“Aah ah ah ah it’s smoking what do I do.”
Take it off the heat, and toss it. You don’t need to get sick right now. I’m going to
put in a fire extinguisher really quick…

20. Ooooh. He’s cute. With pink hair! Double cute. Finn introduces herself to make him
a family contact, so he’ll be available to…
Wait a minute.

21. How long has that been like that??????
Seriously, there are roaches all over the lot and I didn’t notice! No one went outside
to stomp on them!

22. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew.

23. Anyway, at some point this happened. Don’t ask me when, because I don’t know.

24. And then at another point, this happened.

25. And then this happened!
Meet Brantley Eight. Named after a childhood friend of mine, he has mom’s skin
tone and eyes, and dad’s brown hair.

26. Just another of the usual “look at Charlie being a dad” pictures, carry on.

27. Okay, there are a lot of things about this game that are unrealistic. But this? This is
ridiculous.
You expect me to accept that this is enough groceries to last a family of four for
more than two days?
Honestly.

28. So life goes on. The third and final (thank God) pregnancy of this generation has
just begun.
Ok, Charlie. Enough cuteness, you need to go to work.

29. Look at how spiffy he is! The uniform is a good look on you, Charlie.
“I try.”

30. Meanwhile:
“I think I’m pregnant!”
Yeah! This time I remembered!
“Good for you, now please get this thing out of me…”

31. You’re going to wish it was out of you, Finn.

32. You’re going to wish really…

33. …really hard.
She throws up four times in one day. This time I didn’t even have a chance to have
her clean the toilet.
Poor baby.

34. Guess what I am definitely not going to forget to take pictures of this time?

35. Benji’s birthday!
…actually, that cake was the only picture I took.
Here’s Benji clipping into the ceiling earlier if that makes up for it.

36. Remember how I said he’d be a looker when he grew up?
Because look at this kid.
Beauty.
“I know.”

37. I can’t get enough pictures of this kid! I’m not loving the pink scarf, but seriously.

38. Actual Fashion Model: Benji Eight. Finn must be proud.
“Sure.”
Come on. Your son has the face of an angel.
“My son is not a model. He is a tinkerer.”

39. Cranky Finn’s inside, trying desperately with the help of Grandma’s comfort soup
to boost her comfort.
It’s in the red because she’s thrown up so many times. I feel so bad :(

40. Benji brought home this kid from school. He’s kinda cute, but the bowlcut is hard to
get past.
Maybe if the new baby is a girl, she’ll marry him in…
Aw, hell. Maybe one of the boys will marry him. You never know!

41. Speaking of the new baby, it’s making itself known now!
“I knew it was there. Did you miss the part where I threw up four times?”
Uh, no. Sorry, Finn.

42. This. Right here.
This is , like, the only time I’ve ever seen them eat together.
Beautiful. *tear*

43. It’s such a rarity in this house for everyone to be sleeping at the same time. Gives
me a little break, to…
Wait…
What was that noise?

44. Noooooo. :(

45. In all, he took the chessboard, the rug under the chessboard, and a crib.
Booo.

46. Charlie called the cops, but that ended as it usually does, and everyone was
scrambling to Miss This Object and sigh at the ground for a while.
I would assume they’d get a negative memory from being robbed? But nothing has
showed up.
I just checked the wiki, and they should get a memory…. Maybe it’s because they
didn’t interact with the burglar?

47. Sooooo as soon as the cop left everything was replaced, along with a shiny new
burglar alarm.
Here’s to hoping it doesn’t happen again!

48. As usual, Benji is cute as heck, Brantley cries a lot, Finn plays her games.
Charlie, however.

49. Charlie likes to sleep in Benji’s bed.
Because Finn likes to play her computer games on full volume in their bedroom.
Oh, Charlie. The things you must do.

50. OH NO I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT BRANTLEY’S BIRTHDAY
I’M SO SORRY BABY

51. I am the worst person.
Little Brantley kind of looks like his brother. Might just be the buzz cut.

52. Oh, you know, the usual “look at Charlie being a dad” picture.

53. Immediately, I try to figure out what his hobby is.
I want you to guess.
(It’s tinkering. It’s always tinkering.)

54. Finn! The last pregnancy of this generation is almost over! Excited?
“Yeah. Can’t wait to have to change a couple hundred more diapers. Loving it.”
Ooookay, family sim.

55. Brantley was giving me a “big fluffy hair” kinda vibe, so that’s what he gets. The
biggest, fluffiest hair I have in my game.
He’s workin’ the panda PJs just like Benji did. They’re gonna be a helluva cute pair
when Brantley’s grown.

56. Here it comes!
“I’m in pain and really low on energy and Brantley’s crying in the next room and
Benji’s in the shower and Charlie’s having a lack-of-fun breakdown and this is NOT
A GOOD TIME.”
Too bad!

57. Yeah, it’s a Mystery Baby again. This time with more hair!
Check back sometime soon to see more of this little one. But for now, I’m tired,
Finn’s tired, Charlie’s tired, everyone’s tired except Brantley, so we’re going to say
goodbye for now.
