they’re wild animals with sharp hooves and antlers. You should stay at least 100 feet away from the Elk

The history of Olympic National Park was formed in 1938, Olympic National Park got
struck by lighting and caused a fire and two thirds of it burned. For thousands of years wildfires have
occurred on the landscape which is now called Olympic National Park. By 1927 Glines Canyon Dam was
built eight miles up stream. A long time ago in the Elwha river some of the richest salmon outside of Alaska
crowded up stream spawning grounds. The Dams had a lot of serious impacts including silt blockage and
sediment, the Dams erosion of the river and the effects on the park and the people.
One hundred years ago,Thomas Aldwell seen an opportunity to make money from the rivers and its
narrow gorges. He built an hydroelectric dam.
