2. Shadowing. The reality in a Church School is not quite the same as that in a State School. Shadowing MWP tutors was my first experience of ‘seeing’ how the process works in a school, with children from different catchment areas. A taste which tickled my curiosity.
3. Working within the classroom context. Back at school, I started experimenting with what I had seen. The process started to become ‘mine’. However, I always felt the need for more guidance. I needed to know more.
4. The 8th Invitational Institute. March 2009, I got a chance to take part in the MWP Institute. An unforgettable experience – professionally, personally, socially .....
5. The 8th Invitational Institute. Professionally:- The Institute taught me how to apply the process, it gave me new ideas. It was a breath of fresh air.....!
6. The 8th Invitational Institute. Personally:- I grew as a writer myself. I never thought I could write various genres, however by the end of the Institute I had even managed poems! My self-confidence rose!
7. The 8th Invitational Institute. Socially:- Met teachers I never knew, we shared good practices, learnt from each other. A positive experience to mix with new people outside your normal environment.
8. Moving on:- 1. Today, in a new school and in a new role. I hope to implement the MWP in the school I am working at now. We have a preliminary meeting with the MWP tutors. I have already started laying the ground! I believe good practices should be spread and shared.
