mind
that
many
of
our
new
volunteers
are
not
familiar
with
our
events,
so
please
include
a
brief
description
of
your
event
as
well.

volunteers
needed
for
PTA
events
and
school
events
(e.g.,
picture
day,
K
registration,
large
copying
jobs,
etc.)
as
requested
by
PTA
committee
chairs
or
school
staff.
Create
volunteer
spot
site
for
sign-‐ups
for
these
needs.
Often,
this
included
not
only
volunteer
requests
but
also
donation
requests
(e.g.,
water
for
Jogathon,
drinks
for
Blue/White,
etc.).
Communicate
the
volunteer
spot
link
and
needs
via
Sunday
Night
News,
PTA
website
and
PTA
facebook
by
sending
information
to
PTA
members
in
charge
of
those
communication
outlets.
Advise
committee
chair
requesting
volunteers
of
status
of
sign-‐ups.
Sometimes,
if
sign-‐ups
were
low
for
a
request,
I
would
make
copies
for
the
Tuesday
folders
and/or
for
all
student
folders
(though
this
should
really
be
handled
by
the
committee
chair
making
the
request).
This
is
an
ongoing
job
that
can
mostly
be
done
from
your
home/office;
and
it
occurs
throughout
the
school
year
with
ebbs
and
flows
depending
on
how
many
events
needing
volunteers
there
are
during
a
month.
It
is
important
that
the
committee
chairs
understand
that
when
they
request
volunteers
that
the
Volunteer
Coordinator
just
secures
the
volunteers
needed,
but
that
the
Committee
Chair
is
responsible
for
organizing
the
volunteers
at
the
actual
event
and
being
sure
volunteers
understand
their
responsibility/commitment.
This
is
a
board
position,
so
there
are
board
meetings
the
first
Friday
morning
of
every
month
that
you
are
expected
to
attend
in
addition
to
PTA
functions
and
PTA
general
meetings.
-‐Homeroom
Parents-‐This
job
involves
securing
volunteers
to
serve
as
homeroom
parents
for
each
class.
Historically
this
is
limited
to
2
parents
per
class,
but
it
can
be
1
parent
(no
more
than
2
as
it
is
too
difficult
for
the
teacher
to
have
more
than
2
contacts).
Sign-‐ups
are
offered
at
Kindergarten
info
nights
and
the
Cassidy
Orientation
in
August.
Placement
is
made
on
a
first
come,
first
serve
basis
taking
into
consideration
the
desire
to
let
as
many
parents
participate
as
possible.
Once
assigned,
I
provide
helpful
info
to
the
homeroom
parents
on
how
to
handle
party
planning
and
what
their
duties
require.
I
also
send
each
teacher
an
email
with
the
names/emails
of
their
homeroom
parent(s).

I
send
emails
to
the
homeroom
parents
(so
that
they
can
share
with

class
parents
via
email)
regarding
PTA
volunteer
opportunities
or
other
