3. The Safe Shelter Collaborative
improves access to urgently
needed shelter for a greater
number and diversity of human
trafficking and domestic violence
survivors.
10. Survivors are getting shelter faster.
On average, agencies are responding to
shelter requests in under 5 minutes.
Shelters are helping a broader diversity of
survivors than expected.
Intake is expedited, reducing survivor
re-traumatization.
11. Safe Shelter Collaborative members
• 501(c)(3) organizations, tribal entities, and law
enforcement agencies that offer victim assistance
services.
• Organizations that provide shelter or shelter referral
services to survivors of domestic violence, runaway
and homeless youth, or human trafficking.
• Organizations trained to provide trauma-informed
and survivor-centered support for survivors of

Editor's Notes
First, we wanted to provide an overview of who is part of the Safe Shelter Collaborative.
The Safe Shelter Collaborative is being developed jointly by Polaris and Caravan Studios, a division of TechSoup here in San Francisco.
The Collaborative is a growing community-based network of nonprofits, funders, government agencies, and individual donors that is designed to provide faster access to more shelter for (more) a greater diversity and number of survivors of human trafficking.
The Safe Shelter Collaborative is active in New Jersey and is launching in the Dallas-Fort Worth region via AdvanceNet Labs, our regional lead in that area. And we are now in the process of developing a Safe Shelter Collaborative community network in the San Francisco Bay Area.
*******
FODDER (optional):
The Safe Shelter Collaborative is a group of nonprofits, funders, corporations, government agencies, and individual donors who are banding together to ensure that more urgently needed shelter is available to a greater diversity and number of survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence when they need it most.
Hotel placements are:
Flexible – serving a diverse population in a diverse area.
On-demand – you don’t need to support them when they aren’t being used.
There is a credential review process. We need to ensure that participating agencies provide services related to anti-trafficking, domestic violence, and runaway/homeless youth.
