2. When I awoke, I was back at La Fiesta Tech. Young again. My age and senility were gone. I don't know how it
happened. I asked The Player, but she said she didn't know. For once, I believe her. She seems almost as upset and
confused as I am.
3. It was bizarre meeting my roommates. Many of them were people had known and befriended before—except they were
different. They had new names, and no memory of me at all. It was difficult to pretend that I didn't know them either. I
was afraid that my knowledge of them might frighten and confuse them. I had no way to explain what had happened.
4. I was re-inducted into the Secret Society. I tried to act happy, but I couldn't.
5. I resurrected George after the Cow Plant ate him and left. I didn't want to stay any longer.
6. Relearning my former skills was not easy, but it did save me from having to pretend not to know all the people around
me. I chose to study Psychology this time instead of my old Political Science major. I knew the disaster would strike
again, and I knew that Education would be the best thing I could do for the future.
7. I once again found love in my life. I miss Sheldon terribly, but the version of him here doesn't know me, and it was
painful to look at him. I instead chose a man named Griff Kody to share my life.
8. Before long, it was time to graduate and move back to Zensunni once again.
9. I wasn't sure what I would find there. All I could hope for was to restore Education and hope to the region and begin my
life with Griff.
10. I didn't sleep well for a long time. I kept dreaming of my former life. Of Sheldon and the children we had together.
11. Jessica* and Chani...my little girls. They were like twins, though they were born years apart. I miss them greatly, but at
least they are out of the Apocalypse now. And there will be more children...but none like them.
12. I soon found a job in the Education field, and quickly worked my way up.
13. It seemed like no time at all that I had fulfilled my desire to be the Minister of Education and was able to finally marry
Griff.
14. Hopelessness
"It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness."
The physical effects of the nuclear winter are clear, but it is only half of the devastation. The damage to the population's
mindset and willpower has also been great. People are starting to give up hope and despair has begun to set in. People have
no motivation to band together or leave the shelters they have made.
Sims can now be moved in and married.
Family aspiration perks may be redeemed.
15. Education
All the major school systems are in ruins. Education has all but gone from the region. All that remains is a small gathering of
teachers in a safe house to teach younger Sims the basics.
Sim teenagers may now attend school
Sims may attend college (once Military is lifted)
Sims can teach other Sims skills via career rewards (once Adventure is lifted)
Sims can Pass On learned Business Perks (once Business is lifted)
Knowledge aspiration perks may be redeemed
Teenage Sims don't have to roll for primary and secondary aspirations (but I probably still will)
Aspirations may be changed
Moved in spouses can select a secondary aspiration
Since I don't have Pets, I added the Show Biz Pets restrictions to Education
Children and Teenagers can Learn to do Homework
Children and Teenagers can skill with objects that don't also build fun
16. Griff Kody-Simself is a Cancer, 6/3/6/4/6. He's a Family Sim with the LTW of becoming a Mad Scientist, which I didn't
even know was a LTW for Family Sims. He likes Fitness and Custom Hair, and he dislikes Underwear. He works as a
Sous Chef and I hope to lift Culinary with him.
17. It wasn't long before I gave birth to my third child—the first I would have with Griff.
18. I had a little boy that we named Feyd-Rautha**. He has my brown hair and blue eyes. I can't wait to see what he will
become.
19. Thanks for reading my retry at the Apocalypse after my town vanished. This was very short mainly because it was
rehashing stuff that had already happened.
*The Lady Jessica was the concubine to Duke Leto Atreides, mother of Paul Atreides and Alia Atreides, and a highly
skilled Bene Gesserit. She defied her orders to birth only daughters to the Duke in order to please the man she loved.
Many would argue that this led to much of the tragedy the family faces later on. They are probably right. She also
became Reverend Mother to the Fremen by imbibing the poisonous Water of Life, and in doing so, she forced Alia to
awaken to full consciousness while still in the womb.
**Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen was the nephew and heir-designate of the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. He was very devious
and skilled at making people think what he chose. He is often interpreted as being a darker version of Paul Atreides. I
highly recommend watching David Lynch's 1984 film version of Dune in order to see Sting's brilliant portrayal of this
character.
