Are People Really Good At Heart
Despite Anne's ordeal she said, ¨In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at
heart.¨ Anne was a child who was Jewish during World War 2. She was killed in a concentration
camp. Most of Anne's feelings were sympathetic and positive towards others. She felt this way
because she was forgiving, she knew that these people who threatened Anne's life had some good
left inside of them. Kindness attached onto Anne as she took into perspective what may be going on
in the other person's perspective and maybe why they were doing such detrimental actions. Anne
also felt this way because of her kind and positive nature that consisted in her character which
influenced her feelings for her to believe that all were good. Anne was also hopeful and she may
have felt this way about people and that is why she expressed that quote. She wanted to and always
believe that she was going to be free and that one day she would be able to go on with her life and

She hoped for the best in her life and wanted to do many thing after being freed. Her kindness
couldnt be taken away from the Nazis. She knew the risks of being who she was during her time but
she hoped for the best. She thought about the fun and exciting things she would do after she would
be freed. She wanted to be someone when she grew up and Anne never doubted her safety. In her
diary she made the quote, "I long to ride a bike, dance, whistle, look at the world, feel young and
know that I am free and yet I can't let it show". This is an example of her hopefulness and her
attitude towards life she already knew what she wanted to do. Anne believed that she would be freed
and wanted to be known for something special and who she was. Anne throughout her life
fantasized the things she would do. Anne shows lots of confidence and happiness in her and her

What You Can Do For Hoilson Kids After Hurricane Harvey Essay
What You Can Do For Houston Kids After Hurricane Harvey. When Lack of iPads Was Never A
Problem.
"Let me know how I can contribute best, Adeeb. I want to help rebuild the shattered schools in
Houston." And I ranted on what was bothering me – to get schools up and running for the Houston
Kids after Harvey.
Adeeb listened to me patiently on the phone and said something that blindsided me,
"Karthik, schools will be re–built, food will be served, uniforms will happen, iPads will materialize
– for all these visible things there are many takers." And he paused.
I have come to respect his opinion – especially his ability to frame the right problems. Best way to

Friends of these kids are in similar boat. Existing counselors are overwhelmed. The rock solid
teachers – on paper they may be teaching 25 kids like any other teacher. In the challenging
environments, they are managing equivalent to 100 children.
The invisible need is to have extra, dedicated counselors especially with trauma expertise. And the
time for this help is now.
I am happy that the world pours money for children's betterment. Super majority of it go towards
materials that take care of the body. Wish there was more focus on the sustained care of the mind."
I started to absorb the import of his words. I was connecting my own dots. One night after the
hurricane, I woke up at 4 AM startled. The dream that startled me – my childhood home was tilted
and a sheath of water was cascading down the floors.
I am blessed with good fortune. Yet, I felt vulnerable. The storm experience rattled me
subconsciously.
I was happy I spoke with Adeeb. At the start of the call, I wanted to do something that was good on
paper. His roving eye grasped something that is great in reality – fulfilling invisible and yet
powerful needs of the school children.
I wish I had known Adeeb when he was a schoolteacher. I came to know him after he started the
non–profit ProUnitas.
I have met many sparkling individuals in the non–profit sector – the soul of a social cause draws
them. In ProUnitas case – to eliminate non–academic barriers for school children.

Heart Of Darkness Good Vs Evil
"The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the
people who don't do anything about it," (Einstein, 2017). Evil surrounds are every day, it's in the
ungodly things of the world. While most people don't believe in a God you can still say evil is bad
and what is bad, but not good; and what is good, but God. Heart of Darkness is a notable example of
the concept of evil, and the history of the world also has a few things to say about it. Evil is truly
anything ungodly; meaning there is no sense of morals, there is deception, and suffering.
Evil has no Morals
Evil can be found in something as banal as a cat. People would consider it mean of the cat to bite
your hand while you were petting it, you

Really Good At Heart Quotes
"In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." This is a quote that
finished the play of Anne Frank. I believe that Anne Frank had a good heart despite people's
decisions because of what she stated in not only this quote but also throughout the play. This quote
reveals that Anne Frank was a gentle person and thought that people should be forgiven for their
actions. During this time in history many bad things were going on. Not only was it countries
fighting against and with each other, but it was also the Holocaust. Even though these people who
were participating were doing bad things, they could still be good at heart. Anne Frank tells us her
opinion of thinking that by saying "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good
at heart." Basically, she is telling us that people are doing what they are told and think is right. If you
imagine, for example, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is willing to forgive people, even if what they did was bad. You can see that through the
provided quote. Also, she worked with Mr. Dussel. Mr. Dussel had always been kept up in the room
that him an Anne shared. Anne and Mr. Dussel had made sleeping arrangements when he had moved
in. Originally, Anne had shared her room with her sister, Margot. Anne had the room to herself in the
mornings, and Margot had the room in the afternoon. Unfortunately, Mr. Dussel wanted the
opposite. He had the room in the mornings, and Anne had it in the afternoon. Even though they had
made this arrangement, Mr. Dussel did not follow through and was inside the room for most of the
day. He also got really worked up and angry a lot but, Anne stayed hopeful that he would change his
ways and he ended up being in better spirits. Her mother Edith and she, did not have the best
relationship. They both would yell at each other, but sometimes they would get into very rough
arguments. In the end Anne and her mother always find forgiveness with each

Antínoös: A Short Story
One late summer afternoon Antínoös was sitting by an open window in Odysseus' hall which
overlooked the sea. The sun was just starting to set over the water, casting an orangey glow over the
whole of Ithaca. A late summer breeze was wafting in through the window, rustling the leaves of the
olive trees below. Antínoös was lost in deep thought when a servant girl dropped a tray behind him.
It clattered to the ground and dishes fell everywhere. Startled, he jumped up and turned around. Just
as he was about to yell at the young girl the words got caught in his throat. Her piercing green eyes
reminded him of a girl he once knew named Minthe. Antínoös stared at her and she stared back.
Finally, he said

Antínoös had always been told by his father to give to beggars, for they might be gods or goddesses
in disguise. Minthe was not a goddess. She was actually the daughter of king Mitsos. Minthe had
fallen in love with one of the servant boys, and when her father found out he banished Minthe from
his hall in shame. Devastated, Minthe wandered aimlessly throughout the island and surrounding
cliffs for days until she ran into Antínoös. Antínoös invited the young girl back to his family's hall.
He was adamant that Minthe was given the same treatment that any guest would get. He gave her
food and drink, and then had the servants bathe her and give her fresh clothing.
When Minthe returned from her bath she looked like a goddess, her long, dark hair serving as a
contrast to her light green eyes, making them sparkle even more. Once washed, her slender body
and pale skin shone brightly. The girl's transformation even surprised the servants, who thought
nothing of the beggar girl before. Underneath all the dirt and rags she was beautiful. Antínoös was at
a loss for words, but Minthe spoke first

Good At Heart
Anne Frank said, "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." Regardless
of everything that Anne Frank and her family experienced, she believed that there was real good in
the world. I would have to disagree with this quote. Throughout this play, I have learned that people
are not really good at heart. The first reason i believe this is because of how Anne is being a brat to
everybody. "Am I allowed to talk now?" pg.39 In this quote I thought she was being sassy about it.
She was also in a grumpy mood. She is the "boss" around their. Another reason I believe this is
because of Mrs. Frank was mad at everybody that was living with her. "Just that. Take your things

Why Do People Really Good At Heart
Anne Frank stated in her diary that "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good
at heart." This quote goes to show how optimistic she really was. She hoped that underneath all of
the hatred that not only the Nazis beheld, but perhaps also the people that she was hiding with for
years, there was at least a small amount of good in them. Personally, I have no clue how she could
think that such horrible people are actually good at heart, but her personality definitely reflected it.
In addition to this quote indicating that she was optimistic, it suggests that she had hope. She most
likely was aware that the Nazi's were not good at heart, but she refused to take that as a fact, and she
wanted to make herself think otherwise.

Loren Hall Character Analysis
It seems as if nearly everyone goes through a difficult mission at least once in their life. Walt
Master's, for example, his task was saving Loren Hall's claim from the 'stampeders'. Farah Ahmedi,
she undertook the mission of escaping from her war–torn country with her mother. While the
narrator from, 'the cremation of Sam McGee', made a promise to his (now dead) friend that he
would cremate his last remains. Though these characters all have very different stories, they all have
shown that they have the perseverance to succeed in their quest and help those around them.

This was enough to impel ,her and her mother, to take risks to escape. "Ahmedi and her mother
decide to flee their home in Kabul in search of a better life"(Intro). Only thanks to Ghulam Ali and
his wife, did she and her mother get around the Afghanistan border. "The woman told us that her
husband, Ghulam Ali, had gone to look for another way across the border"(par. 7). The astonishing
thing is that Ahmedi was able to undertake this mission and persevered even though she had her
own difficulties. " Perhaps my mother's problems distracted me from my own. That might account
for it. Perhaps desperation gave me energy and made me forget the rigor of the climb"(par. 12). By
helping her mother she inevitably helped herself, distracted by her mother's bigger problems she was
able to forget her own and persevere through the journey.
The Speaker and his Friend Sam McGee are miners from Tennessee who want to strike it rich in the
Klondike. Although, not to long after the start of their journey Sam McGee falls ill and makes The
Speaker promise him something. Sam McGee asked that once he died he would be cremated in
irony of his icy death. "So I want you to swear that, foul or fair, you'll cremate my last remains"(line
24). The Speaker, knowing the harsh and surreal code of the klondike, wandered on through the cold
to fulfill his promise. "Now a promise made is a debt unpaid, and the trail has its own stern code, In

Are People Good At Heart Research Paper
A question that has been asked for many years is, "Are people good at heart?" However, people just
can't seem to agree. They are divided; people fluctuate from side to side, sometimes staying neutral.
Still, all this arguing doesn't actually help answer the question. Are people good at heart? The
answer, once the evidence is actually looked at and put together, is quite easy to reach. No, people
are not good at heart, as they have to learn to be selfless, and if people are truly good at heart, those
dark thoughts that "seemingly come out of nowhere" wouldn't pop up. Now, if people truly are good
at heart, the evidence would be seen mostly in babies and toddlers. How often has a toddler shared
their toys peacefully? Not only that, but when

People Are Really Good At Heart Analysis
Anne Frank said in her diary that " in spite of everything,I still believed that people are really good
at heart." Even when thing are going bad at Amsterdam because they have to hided from the green
police since they are Jewish. No One knows why she still thinks that people are good at heart. My
three main points are optimistic/hopeful,thoughtful/help others, and imaginative. Those are the main
points that would support the quote that she say. The first support point is optimistic/hopeful. "This
is not the end It is not even the beginning of the end." Is the quote that she said in her diary during
that time. When they about to sent Margot to work so they didn't give up and hid from the solders.
She keep on hoping that the war will be over and they don't have to hide any more and worried of
getting caught by the soldiers. Even when they found them because the robber tell then she didn't

"You only really get to know people when you have a jolly good row with them." She said this quote

the way she act because that what she really is. Even when they judge her she gave them president
for Hanukkah that she made from what she got around the house or found in the house. She shears
every one up by singing to then and to get them to sing too for Hanukkah. The third support point
that I pick is imaginative. "I want to bring out all kind off things that lied buried deep in my heart."
She said this quote when she wrote in her diary every time so one knows what she is thinking about
and just let it out. When she write down everything that is happening during the time when she went
into hiding until they were found. When she talking about having a secret of her starting to hit

Anne Frank Good Heart
Do you believe all people have a little good in them? Anne Frank did. She was a Jewish teenage girl
who went into hiding during Holocaust of World War II. She didn't want to live up to her mother's
expectations, mostly because she felt that she couldn't. All her mother wanted was for her to be more
like Margot, her older sister. In fact, she stated in her diary, "In spite of everything, I still believe that
people are really good at heart." There are many reasons why she said this. But they all circulate
around the primary idea that she was an optimistic person and tried to always see the brighter side in
everything.
Initially, my evidence comes from Anne's Diary, which was found by Miep Gies after the Franks and
Van Daans were taken to the concentration camps in 1944. This quote can be found on page 356 in
lines 27 and 28. She says, "As for us, we're quite fortunate. Luckier than millions of people. It's
quite safe here..." As I stated before, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Remember that she is only a young teenager, and that she's likely not aware of all the danger she's
truly in. Because of this, there is a huge impact on how she thinks of others. It's a lot easier for her to
believe that people are all good at heart this way. In her diary, Anne once said "I don't think of all the
misery, but of the beauty that still remains," this quote shows how Anne recognizes all the hate and
sadness in the world, but she always tries to look past it and see the beauty that is still there. This
also shows Anne's viewpoint on people, and how, unlike her, most people first see the flaws of other
people, but she always tried to look past the poor parts and see the best in people. Also this is seen in
the play, such as we saw how she is caring for her sister and father. That is the last piece of evidence
I have that shows that Anne was a positive

Anne Frank: All People Are Good At Heart
When looking back on events like the Holocaust, it is hard to believe that all people are good at
heart. But people like Anne Frank even in the midsts of everything she went through still believed
all people were good at heart. I too think people are good at heart because of an empathy all people
are born with; but that their ideas are changed because the people and things that surround them. All
people are born with good hearts, but they as a person are morphed by the people, ideas, and world
around them.
Most people are greatly influenced by the society they live in and what it teaches them. Like
Germen children during the Holocaust, children are taught and impacted by their society from a
young age negative or positive. Being raised on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents are a child's greatest influence and what they teach their children is what their children will
reflect out to the world. Parents who teach their children values, empathy, and self discipline usually
have more kind and open minded children. Mrs. and Mr. Frank were great examples of open minded
parenting when Mr. Frank tells Anne "There are no walls, there are no bolts,no locks that anyone can
put on your mind" (290). This is a good example of how Anne's parents pushed her to be
openminded and to put her education first; which influenced her greatly as a person. Also, many
people are not educated on important issues which causes people to be uninformed or misinformed.
For example, in the Holocaust many people did not know how barbaric the Nazis were towards
Jews. Most people did not know to help or how to help because most did not know what was going
on. People that are able to educate themselves on issues are able to help or protest against issues.
Lastly, another large reason people are changed heart–wise is because of the examples of other
people. From everyday people on the street to your parents, people are constantly influencing and
changing your ideas, whether they are good or bad. To sum it up, what we are taught or what we
learn is what we will

People Are Good At Heart In Anne Frank
The theme in Anne Frank that all people are good at heart is strongly affected by the characters.
Some of the characters that affect it the most are Anne, Mr. Van Daan, and Miep Gies and Mr.
Kraler. They either affect it negatively or positively as we will found out. The theme people are
good at heart is a theme everybody should relate to in someway. Anne is one of the people that
impacts the theme in a very positive way. Anne is a person who always looks at the better side of
things in an situation. Even though they are forced to go into hiding for multiple years, she talks of
what she wants to do when they get out. This has a great affect on the rest of the people in the
annex. It gives them motivation and keeps their spirits up. She also is very thoughtful and helpful.
For instance, she was always helping people and giving them gifts all through out act one. In act
two, she said that she always thought positively and never negatively. She would then pass that
attitude on to the adults that were scared for there safety. All in all, Anne was a person who impacted
the ones around her in a positive way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kraler also had a positive impact on the theme. They are the ones who accepted them and helped
hide them. They would make daily visits to bring supplies and news of what was happening at the
time. They were also putting their owns lives at risk by hiding them in the annex. One time, Miep
saved her sugar rations over several weeks even months to bake them a cake. Mr. Kraler was even
put into a place he didn't want to be in. This was when a worker blackmailed him or he would tell
the Nazi's of the annex. He ended up paying him the money to try to save the ones in the annex, but
the worker still told of the annex to the Nazi's. These acts show us that they are good at heart
because they kept them hiding even in tough situations. To conclude, Miep Gies and Mr. Kraler are
important to the positive side of the

Who Is A Good Heart?
Who am I to begin with? I tend to ask myself what truly defines me or what I stand for, and in so
doing, I find myself contemplating on most definitions people regard me too. Like they do say:
"Obi, you are kind...", "You're caring, compassionate..." no "Obie, you fill an empty soul with so
much happiness", and so many more people say. At times, I begin to ponder why people say such
wittily words, little did I know that my name "Obioma" adds up to my personality. "Obioma", when
translated to English means "Good heart". Is it that I am required to live by its meaning, or do I
naturally have these many 'good' characteristics? Well, I would say it does come naturally. I define
myself by the uniqueness of my name. I don't say this just to flaunt, but because it's indeed true that
having a good heart as an inborn have made me articulate my existence on earth. While growing as a
child, it was difficult to overlook people in pains and most especially those in the hospital (children
in particular). Whenever I see people in agony, I feel my whole world is grumbled, and insist to fight
back for them in many ways even though I know I had nothing to offer, but persist to give the very
little or find means to help. Here again my second struck, my mother had diabetic mellitus for a

People Are Not Good At Heart Analysis
Humanity is hopeless people are destroying themselves. What will be the world in years? People are
naturally born evil and selfish. People are evil and selfish it is hard to see it but you can start seeing
it sooner or later. Based on the information gathered in module 4 most people are not good at heart
because people are naturally selfish and evil. People are born selfish. "Mr. VanDaan he goes to the
food safe and again lights a match. Then cautiously opens the safe taking out a half–loaf of bread"
(Goodrich and Hackett 341). People want things perfect for themselves. People will push others out
of the way to get things they need. Mr. VanDaan saw that Peter's stomach was growling at night yet
still Mr. VanDaan took the bread. Selfishness is a reason why people are not good at heart. The

People are not perfect therefore they still have evil and selfishness naturally born with also people
blame and scold others to make themselves feel better. "Dussel – every night she twists and turns. I
don't sleep. I spend half of my night shushing her and now it is the nightmares!" (Goodrich and
Hackett 310). Despite all the circumstances Mr. Dussel is mad at Anne because he wants to sleep
therefore he is scolding her and blaming her. Blaming others or scolding, that people can feel better
is a last reason why people are not good at heart. People are not good at heart from all the reasons
summarized. People are selfish naturally taking what they need and not what others need. People are
naturally evil the genocides show the worst in that no one can let these things happen but they do
happen. The last reason is that people will blame and scold each other to make themselves feel
better, from that there will be more depression and other things related. That is why, most people are

Anne Frank: Are People Really Good At Heart?
Have you ever just thought that someone was just straight up mean and cruel, or even just bad at
heart? Well I have. Especially all of the Germans involved in the holocaust when they killed many
Jews and allied forces just because they wanted to. Although one Jewish girl named Anne Frank
wrote something down in her journal that totally changed my perspective about that. This is what
she wrote, " In Spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart." After I heard
that quote I started to believe what she had said. Although no matter how bad someone is, what they
do, or what they say, they are still somewhat good at heart no matter what. One of the reasons that I
agree with Anne, are because of Mr. Kraler and Miep. Even though their lives are at stake they are
still being kind and nice to the Franks and the Van Daans. Also throughout the book Anne started
lighting up and being nice and kind to everyone. One example is on Hanukkah despite of what they

She was very excited to hand out her presents. This shows how she is very selfless and gave up her
time and materials to make these gifts for them and it was very caring. She had so much hope, and

All People Are Good At Heart
According to Anne Frank, all people are good at heart. But is that really true? Well, the truth is, that
not all people are good at heart. Furthermore, The people anne was referring to as "good at heart"
were the individuals responsible for the mass murder of the innocent Jewish people. Additionally,
The Jews were forced out of their homes, had their businesses taken away, etc. for no valid reason
except for their religion. And finally If everyone was good at heart, than the fighting and bickering
occuring in the Annex, wouldn't have come about.
The persons anne was referring to as "good at heart" were the ones responsible for the mass murder
of the innocent Jewish people. In a quote from the Diary of Anne Frank play, it states, "Dussel: ...

This point is often overlooked because it is less severe than the other too, but it is still very
important and notable to why annes quote is wrong. A quote form the play says "Peter: Father says
he is going to sell her fur coat. She's crazy about that old coat." To elaborate on this quote, The
people in the annex are not acting "good at heart" in this situation. Mr. Van Daan is trying to sell
Mrs Van daan's coat for cigarettes and he know that the coat means a lot to her. If Mr Van Daan was
good at heart, he would consider his wife's feelings and wouldn't sell the coat. He already took all of
Mrs. Van Daans other valuables and now he's trying to sell something given to her by her dead
grandfather. To add on to my point, this next quote states, "Dussel: "Thanks to this clumsy fool there
is now someone who knows we are up here!" In this quote, Mr Dussel blames the loud noise on
peter. Peter did do it, but it wasn't necessary to call him out for it. If he was good at heart he
wouldn't have done this and just tried to address the situation. This quote makes Mr. Dussel look
like a jerk even though he is actually nice. This is all because of World War 2 occuring in the
background. My third and final quote says, "Dussel: Every night she twists and turns. I don't sleep.I

he has good intentions behind many of his misdeeds. He only wants what is best for Christopher.
Mr. Boone accepts Christopher's special needs and wants him to succeed in life. He helps
Christopher a lot more than anyone else, even Judy Boone; Christopher's mother doesn't help
Christopher as much. Although Ed Boone's immoral actions were evil, the good intentions,
helpfulness, and patience that he displays toward his son, Christopher proves that Mr. Boone is the
evil figure with an ultimately good heart. Ed shows a lot of helpfulness to everyone and especially
Christopher. This is what lets Ed be so good with Christopher, patience lets Ed be ... Show more

Ed stood up for Christopher when someone under estimated him and this let Christopher succeed on
to becoming what he wants to be. Ed Boone has good intentions toward Christopher and only
wishes the best for him, even though his actions and decisions are not always the best. He hid the
letters, that Christopher's mother sent Christopher. He also lied to Christopher about his mother,
telling Christopher that she died of a heart attack. Even though the things Ed did look evil and bad
hearted, he did it out of love. Just like he killed Wellington, Mrs. Shears dog, because he loved her
and she rejected him, and Ed got out of control. Ed lied and hid the letters from Christopher because
Christopher, being a person with special needs, did not feel sad and take the divorce and separation
of his parents too deeply and harshly. Ed also did this so Christopher would not leave him, because
Ed loves him a lot. After Ed found out that Christopher read the letters, he apologized and said, "I'm
sorry, Christopher, I'm so, so sorry" [Page 114]. Ed even said and told Christopher it was for his
safety and for good, that it was all for a good cause. Ed said,
"I did it for your good, Christopher. Honestly I did. I never meant to lie. I just thought... I just
thought it was better if you didn't know... that... that... I didn't mean to... I was going to show them to
you when you were older" [Page 114].

Anne Frank: People Are Truly Good At Heart
In the 1940s an event called the Holocaust took place. Those who were Jewish in heritage or
religion were deemed an inferior race, and were sent to persecution camps. This was the kickstart to
WWII, and one of the most horrid events in human history. A Jewish girl in hiding named Anne
Frank said " In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.". Even though a lot
of people do awful things everyday, I think that this quote is very true. I will be using the play
version of Anne Frank's diary excerpts as examples that people are truly good at heart. While in the
annex, the Franks and Van Daans celebrate Hanukkah. They had very little, and despite that, Anne
went and made gifts for everyone in the annix. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anne managed to get everyone something, no matter what it might have been. She did her best with
what she had and got everyone in the annix something, even if she didn't like them. Anne showed
true kindness and good by doing this. I believe that her actions show that people are good at heart.
Although of things like this, a lot of people would disagree with Anne's quote. The actions of a few
people strongly contradict her quote, one of them being when Mr. Van Daan stole food for himself,
convincing the others that there were rats stealing the food. This quote comes from Mrs. Frank
telling Mr. Van Daan off, and she stated the following: "We're all of us hungry. I see the children
getting thinner and thinner. Your own son Peter– I've heard him moan in his sleep, he's so hungry.
And you come in the night and steal food that should go to them–to the children.". Mr. Van Daan
became so selfish that he stole food that should have gone to children, one of them being his own
son. He did it and said nothing, and everyone else was convinced that it was rats that were stealing
the food. In the annix, they only got so much food, which was very little, to feed 8 people. With

Raskolnikov As A Good Man Essay
Haley Spackman
Mrs. Mcloud
AP Lit– Period 5
14 October 2015 Guilt Raskolnikov lives an ordinary life as an ordinary man. He is a good man and
has a good heart, but he soon commits a crime that will forever change his life. Raskolnikov is a
good man; I believe he is kind, generous, and selfless. Now, how are all of these positive traits found
in a murderer? I think was caught in a psychotic moment, his mental state was not all there, and he
had a dream, he made a plan, and he committed this terrible crime. A good example of Raskolnikov
being a kind hearted person, and selfless is when he sees a young girl at the end of the street, he sees
by her a rough looking man staring at her. He starts to get very worried what this man might do to
this young girl. He goes down the street to get this young girl, and he pays for a taxi to get her
home. This was so generous, and small yet so impactful. Raskolnikov cared about what might
happen to this young girl, and did something about it. This showed how selfless Raskolnikov is, and
what a kind heart he has. I think this shows Raskolnikov's true character. From here, he makes some
terrible decisions, and is engulfed by guilt, but I believe he is a generous, kindhearted person. In this
book, Crime And Punishment, Raskolnikov goes from being an ordinary man with an ordinary life
to a murderer, tortured by guilt, haunted by the memory of his crime, and him finding himself again
in society after the murders. Raskolnikov soon

People Are Not Good At Heart Essay
People are not truly good at heart
"In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart." These words were spoken
by Anne Frank. She wrote these words in her diary in the attic of her father's business. She was
hiding from the Nazi's, and hid among several other people in a confined area. Anne thought that
everyone was truly good–hearted. She sadly died in a concentration camp about a year later. The
truth is people are not good at heart. People are selfish, they are in charge of their actions so they
know if something is wrong or right, and there is too many horrible things in the world to outweigh
all of the admirable aspects of life. Nonetheless not everyone is good–natured. ... Show more

about valuable moments. Beforehand, Anne hands out gifts to everyone. This shows that she cares
for everyone, but all goodness is lost when they find out that a thief has broken in and now knows
about their true identity. thus showing that the bad has outweighed the good in the situation. During
this point in the play they have forgotten about Anne's contribution and are now focused on the thief.
No matter how hard positive people try, the grim moments are always more remembered . It's easier
to summon them, because they are a painful part of a one's life. One author adds, "Those who are
good at heart are in the vast minority. ....What humans do, and what humans allow, is clear evidence
of the depravity, greed, selfishness, meanness, cruelty, evil in us. If Anne Frank had survived the
concentration camp I am sure she would have changed her assessment about people being good."

amounts of magnanimous individuals out there. However, there are also unquestionably hateful ones

evil in this world is so big that we can forget about hope.We don't think about what life would be

Good by Heart or by Reward?
Is the definition of a good citizen one that needs to be forced to do such actions? I believe that
defeats the purpose of what it means to dedicate your time to others and be truly altruistic. What
does it mean to genuinely give your time to others? It does not mean that one gives away something
as precious as the time we are given because they have been incentivised to do so.
In today's modern society many students in preparatory school such as high schools and junior high

This is not to be taken wrong, the idea of getting people more involved in community service is a
step in the right direction with many good intentions but has been delivered wrong. Forcing of an
activity that is supposed to be voluntary could have more negative effects than it can positive, such
as a dislike that is grown due to the fact that the activity is forced and this leads to a less likelihood
of participating thus causing a negative association. And this grows and nationwide countries that
require this new criteria will have built a community on fake interest instead of genuine care.
Society wants to move away from that but we can not do such a thing if we must have an forced or
incentivised volunteering thus at that point the cultivation of a fake society doing what outwardly is
correct and can help us grow as a society is nothing but a false action where individuals are after

Anne Frank: Horrible People Are Good At Heart
Anne Frank Essay Right now in the world, all we see and hear about are tragic events caused by
terrible people. We constantly hear about mass shootings and murders, and we don't often hear about
good things. Anne Frank wrote once, "...I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really
good at heart." She wrote this when Nazi's were persecuting jews and she was in hiding in a
cramped space with her family and another. It amazes me that even though Anne Frank knew there
is a possibility of being found out by the Nazi's and being killed she still said that people are good at
heart. However, everyone has a rotten heart that has good moments sometimes. An example to show
that people are naturally bad are infants. Of course almost everyone loves newborn babies because
of how sweet and adorable they are, but who taught them to wail or throw things? Surely, parents do
not teach their children to behave badly, they just do so on their own accord. In fact in the
bible(Psalm 51:5), it states that we were all born into the world as sinners: "Behold, I was brought
forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me." Parents have to teach their children that what
they did was wrong and teach them to behave well, not the other way around. ... Show more content

People Are Truly Good At Heart Analysis
Argument Essay "In spite of everything I still believe people are truly good at heart." Anne Frank
wrote this quote in her diary. I do believe that people are truly good at heart. Though sometimes
people don't do the right thing, people are generous towards each other, even during bad times.
People take care of each other and help each other when they need it. When things are bad, people
try to have an optimistic attitude. People are generous towards each other, even during bad times.
Peter said "He can have my bed. I can sleep on the floor. I don't mind" Pg. 470. Peter is generous by

shows that they are trying to be positive. They are trying to be positive and look on the bright side of
things. This shows the people are truly good at heart because they are trying to get each other to be
positive and try to be optimistic. Mr Frank: "It seems strange to say this, as if anyone could be
happy in a concentration camp. But Anne was happy in the camp in Holland where they first took
us. After two years of being locked up . . . she could be out . . . in the fresh air she loved." pg. 77.
Anne was seeing the good in the really bad situation that she was in at the time. This shows how
people are really good at heart because she is trying to reassure herself and others that everything
will work out and be ok in the end. Anne: I think the world is going through a phase, the way I was
with Mother. It'll pass, maybe not for hundreds of years, but someday . . . " Despite everything that
is happening Anne still believes that it will be over soon and that everything will be ok. This shows

The Good Heart Sparknotes
Many Good Hearts: Unifying Humans by Human Nature by Alex Prindle I have never experienced
space travel, and I probably will never get the chance to have that experience, but one of the
common insights that astronauts claim while looking at planet earth from outer space that they
cannot see any boundaries between different countries or cultures. The only view possible is one
planet that is separated by two elements: land and sea. Every human being assumedly is born of the
same planet, so thus when looking "down" at planet earth, each world conflict or issue can seem so
insignificant due to the fact that we are all born in the same place; we all get experience light from
the same sun (49), and these aspects of life unify us as living beings. The Good Heart, also the title
of the acclaimed novel written by the Dalai Lama, is revealed as a metaphor and symbol for unity
and spiritual equality. This unity mainly illustrated through a comparison of Christianity and
Buddhism described by the Dalai Lama, shows that different perspectives should be equally valued
just as much as similarities between perspectives. The title of the book first is introduced when the
Dalai Lama begins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Community Life And Civic Engagement
Community life and civic engagement are a huge responsibility of citizens, although it is not
required by citizens, it is an important aspect of a proper citizen. Residents of a community have the
constant responsibility of making the society around them reflect an advance in the eminence of
lives in the community. The simple duty of any citizen is to give to the common good. Civic
responsibilities are achieved by volunteering and choice. Volunteering, involving in positive
organizations and aids, or tutoring people in certain subjects, are all ways that people can subsidize
to the good of the community. Small deeds that seem to prosper someone in some way or the other
is still a way of helping. To learn something from the assistance that one does to another, the deed
does not have to be big, as long as the person providing the assistance is doing it with a good heart
they can always acknowledge a lesson. Compassion and love is necessary in helping others. When
people have the opportunity to help others they may not always get a gift in return, sometimes they
may not even get a reply back. This is when the person has to realize that the purpose of helping
someone is not for the thank you or the gift, but is for the satisfaction of their soul, betterment of the
other, and the ability to learn a lesson. Assisting people needs to be done in a thoughtful and
effective way for it to create a lasting impact on his/her self and on society itself.

People Are Really Good At Heart
Anne is an especially optimistic and whimsical girl who wants everyone to be cheerful, spite the
numerous conditions she has gone through. The play "The Diary of Anne Frank" ends with the
statement, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." This quote is
by Anne Frank and reveals that Anne still has hope that World War II will end soon. I believe Anne
asserted this on behalf of lifting everyone's spirits with hope. Also, Anne wants to stay strong and
continue being positive throughout her ordeal. My final, and utmost supportive idea, is that far and
wide, Anne wants to try to remain hopeful. In the next couple paragraphs, I will be discussing
evidence to back this up.
The quote Anne implied at the end of the play, The Diary of Anne Frank, voices the opinion that
Anne announced this quote because she wanted to lift everybody's spirits by sharing her hope with
family and friends. When Anne gave her whole family gifts she attempted to lift everybody's spirits.

Real Good Of The Town At Heart Analysis
In a society that values materialistic and useless items, there's still the overbearing detail that it is a
society overruled and essentially run by naivety and selfishness. Today's society is most definitely
not what it was in 1880s, and with good reason. People would much rather ignore what they can
then accept someone else's opinion. An example of this is in politics. No matter how much someone
tries, they will never be equal. Especially in recent elections, families will go to drastic measures
and essentially remove a member from their family if they don't agree with another's opinion. Not
only is this showing that they are naïve, but they're also selfish. Granted there are reasons to agree
with their actions, there's still the voice in their head that is turning them in this direction to the idea
of 'good versus bad.' ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the play, Dr. Stockmann says, "It is I who have the real good of the town at heart!" (30). Thomas

has the 'real good' of the town at heart, yet while he may be right, he was continuously blindsided by
his naivety which resulted in him and his family being shunned from the town. This relates to
today's society as there are often individuals, specifically those in power or who have authority over
others, place themselves on pedestals and preach their messages to masses of supporters yet they're
saying things that come across as insightful or problematic. The masses don't realize this as they too
are unaware of their own naivety so they keep listening and spread that message, regardless of what

a human you are going to have a small amount of evil residing inside of you, for all humans have
been selfish at some point in their life. Hopefully, you get the idea now, that I believe that humans
are inherently evil. People can become evil from fear. In the short story "The Tell–Tale Heart", is

Good At Heart In The Diary Of Anne Frank
How do you picture someone that is good at heart? Maybe you see them as a hero that saved
someone's life, but a person can do the slightest deed and still be considered good at heart. In "The
Diary of Anne Frank," there were many characters that contributed to the theme that people are good
at heart. The characters not only developed the theme through their words, but they also developed
the theme through their actions. "The Diary of Anne Frank," was a diary that was written by Anne
Frank during the time of World War II and the Holocaust. The diary gave us real life information
from the time of that devastating event. This play showed us that many people are good at heart, but
the theme was mostly developed through the characters Anne Frank, Miep Gies, and Mr. Frank. To
begin, Anne was a selfless, outgoing, and positive young girl that had to live in hiding. Anne was
always positive during the time of the war, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frank also contributed to the theme that people are good at heart. In Act 1, scene 2, he decided to
take in the Van Daan's even though it increased the danger of them hiding. That showed that Mr.
Frank had a big heart because the Van Daan's could have blew their cover, but he took them in
anyway. In addition, in Act 1, scene 5, he took in Mr. Dussel without hesitation. When Miep brought
Mr. Dussel to the Annex, Mr. Frank said that they could stretch the food and would take him in. In
conclusion, Mr. Frank was always looking to help people and take them into hiding.
To tie it all up, in "The Diary of Anne Frank," there were many characters that contributed to the
theme that people are good at heart. A lot of the characters expressed this theme, but Anne Frank,
Miep Gies, and Mr. Frank contributed to the theme the most. They contributed to this theme through
kindness, selflessness, and positive thinking. Without the diary that Anne Frank wrote, many people

Have you ever been in a situation where someone has done something to hurt you or anyone else?
Would you think they were still good at heart? The statement made by Anne Frank "Despite
everything, I believe that people are really good at heart" I agree with this statement due to the fact
that although in The Holocaust many Jews were being hurt, Many Germans didn't have an opinion
on the topic and if they ever did say something they were ignored. Although many Jews were in
agony, German soldiers didn't have an opinion on the topic many German soldiers were actually

Anne Frank: Are People Really Good At Heart?
Are people really good at heart? While Anne Frank was hiding in the annex, she wrote, "Despite
everything, I believe that people are really good at heart". But, the Nazis terrorized six million
people during the Holocaust, and in Anne Frank's diary, the people living in the annex are at each
other's throats.. Although some people say that Hitler was only trying to protect Germany, they
clearly were not thinking of Kristallnacht.
First, the Nazis killed and mistreated many Jews, homosexuals, and gypsies during their reign. In
the article, 1933 Hitler Comes to Power, it says, "The SS– Hitler's elite paramilitary force– had long
been terrorizing Germany's Jews, beating them up and vandalizing their businesses". This shows
that Hitler and the Nazis were wrongfully abusing Jews. There was no legitimate reason. Also, in the
article, "'No power on earth will get me out of here alive.' someone heard him say". This means
Hitler had no intent on doing any good while in office. He was fortunate he was appointed
Chancellor, so he could carry out his plans. Therefore, Hitler and the Nazis were not good at heart.

Tim Thomas Who Is Really Ben
In the movie Tim Thomas who is really Ben is an all around good person who used bad qualities to
help people in need. He impersonated his brother the real Tim Thomas to get close to a woman who
was in need of a heart. He was dealing with the death of his wife, which I believe he blamed himself
for the accident. He took the life of 6 other people in the car including his wife, but he survived. He
wanted to repay his debt to society by donating his organs to those who needed them, and his
ultimate sacrifice ws his heart he gave to Emily. His character changed, because of he used being an

Being on the run, and very short with him on the phone Ben was never able to catch up with him

guy who just wanted to help Ben, but Ben continuously avoided him. Tim's character itself never

power to help him.
Dan Morris was Tim's best friend he grew up with. He was just there to make his "will" and keep it

Are people truly "good at heart" or are people just born horrible. Anne Frank thought that people
were and I agree with her one hundred percent. You can't just judge people by what they portray
since the Germans were forcing people into their army, therefore the soldiers might have not wanted
to harm the Jews. After reading Anne Frank's diary, watching the movie, reading the play, and
researching the Holocaust I agree with Anne Frank's statement. The reasons that I agree are that the
Holocaust won't last forever, the soldier showed kindness to Otto Frank when they were packing up
their belongings, and lastly that the world is experiencing a phase. In conclusion, people really are
good at heart. The first reason that people are truly "good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is shown in the movie where the soldier stops the other soldiers from ruining the annex after he
finds out that Otto was in the army. It is also shown in the play where it says," They are waiting for
us now. They've allowed us five minutes to get our things. We can each take a bag and whatever it
will hold of clothing." These quotes are significant in many ways. The first way is where the soldier
wouldn't let the others destroy the secret annex. This shows how people are"good at heart" by
showing how the soldier gave even a little kindness when he had the chance. He didn't have to stop
the other soldiers from destroying the house since the people weren't going to be living there
anymore. The second reason is where it said that they had five minutes to get their things together.
The soldiers didn't have to allow them any time to pack up, but they did anyway. Anne's family
could have had to go to the camp without anything, but the soldiers showed some kindness. The last
reason is that the soldiers were waiting on the people in the annex. They could have drug everyone
out of the annex and put them into a truck, but they didn't they waited while they packed their
things. If they hadn't the people in the annex would have probably died sooner. This is true because
the people in the annex where aloud

No Mas Is A Dramatic Revenge Western
NO MAS is a dramatic, revenge Western. While Western revenge plots are very familiar, they are
also considered tried and true. What this script offers is a very engaging female protagonist. The
script also offers a unique hook: she's a skilled fighter. In fact, the idea of the mystery fighter,
actually, sets this script apart.
The opening establishes the ordinary world of the heroine, Rosette. Her world is shattered by the
murder of her parents and the disappearance of her brother. It's a solid inciting event. Her goal of
revenge is clear and the stakes are high.
The second act is driven by her need for retribution. The second act introduces her world of being a
fighter. The fighting scenes are strong and exciting.
In the third act, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She seems to be keeping him at a distance, but then suddenly appear to be good friends. It's not clear
how she figures out that he overdosed his wife.
To elevate the pace and the tension, one possible solution is to have Rosette find the other invaders
and show her killing them, one–by–one with her fighting skills, leaving Fitz as the last one. This is a
formula that has been done before, but it works to maintain tension and interest. It also builds
suspense. Right now, the tone could be grittier and the violence enhanced.
The other issue that feels unsolved is Rosette's brother. It's our understanding that she's still looking
for him, but at the end it doesn't feel as if she's going after him.
As mentioned, Rosette is a very likable heroine. It's easy to root for her. She makes some wrong
decisions, but they are for the right reasons. While flawed, the audience forgives her. She wants
justice, but she's driven by revenge at the risk of her life and she has forsaken any personal life for
her quest. She's smart and she's determined. She's still grieving and at the end, she seems to be
healing.
Suspiros is a spirited woman, who immediately sees the good in Rosette and wants to help and
rescue her. She's also in a tough situation, but she has a positive attitude and makes the best of it.
She's easy to care about.
Zurdo is a very colorful character. He's complex and has both good and bad qualities that make him
interesting. Sometimes he seems like the bad guy, but

Are People Really Good At Heart

  • 1. Are People Really Good At Heart Despite Anne's ordeal she said, ¨In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.¨ Anne was a child who was Jewish during World War 2. She was killed in a concentration camp. Most of Anne's feelings were sympathetic and positive towards others. She felt this way because she was forgiving, she knew that these people who threatened Anne's life had some good left inside of them. Kindness attached onto Anne as she took into perspective what may be going on in the other person's perspective and maybe why they were doing such detrimental actions. Anne also felt this way because of her kind and positive nature that consisted in her character which influenced her feelings for her to believe that all were good. Anne was also hopeful and she may have felt this way about people and that is why she expressed that quote. She wanted to be someone when she grew up and Anne never doubted her safety. In her diary she made the quote, "I long to ride a bike, dance, whistle, look at the world, feel young and know that I am free and yet I can't let it show". This is an example of her hopefulness and her attitude towards life she already knew what she wanted to do. Anne believed that she would be freed and wanted to be known for something special and who she was. Anne throughout her life fantasized the things she would do. "Let me know how I can contribute best, Adeeb. I want to help rebuild the shattered schools in Houston." And I ranted on what was bothering me – to get schools up and running for the Houston Kids after Harvey. Adeeb listened to me patiently on the phone and said something that blindsided me, "Karthik, schools will be re–built, food will be served, uniforms will happen, iPads will materialize – for all these visible things there are many takers." And he paused. I have come to respect his opinion – especially his ability to frame the right problems. Best way to describe him – he could be a youngster from your home or mine – well ... I was connecting my own dots. One night after the hurricane, I woke up at 4 AM startled. The dream that startled me – my childhood home was tilted and a sheath of water was cascading down the floors. I am blessed with good fortune. Yet, I felt vulnerable. The storm experience rattled me subconsciously. I was happy I spoke with Adeeb. At the start of the call, I wanted to do something that was good on paper. His roving eye grasped something that is great in reality – fulfilling invisible and yet powerful needs of the school children.

Evil surrounds are every day, it's in the ungodly things of the world. While most people don't believe in a God you can still say evil is bad and what is bad, but not good; and what is good, but God. Heart of Darkness is a notable example of the concept of evil, and the history of the world also has a few things to say about it. Evil is truly anything ungodly; meaning there is no sense of morals, there is deception, and suffering. Evil has no Morals Evil can be found in something as banal as a cat. • 8. Really Good At Heart Quotes "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." This is a quote that finished the play of Anne Frank. I believe that Anne Frank had a good heart despite people's decisions because of what she stated in not only this quote but also throughout the play. This quote reveals that Anne Frank was a gentle person and thought that people should be forgiven for their actions. During this time in history many bad things were going on. Not only was it countries fighting against and with each other, but it was also the Holocaust. Even though these people who were participating were doing bad things, they could still be good at heart. Anne Frank tells us her opinion of thinking that by saying "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." The sun was just starting to set over the water, casting an orangey glow over the whole of Ithaca. A late summer breeze was wafting in through the window, rustling the leaves of the olive trees below. Antínoös was lost in deep thought when a servant girl dropped a tray behind him. It clattered to the ground and dishes fell everywhere. Startled, he jumped up and turned around. Just as he was about to yell at the young girl the words got caught in his throat. She was actually the daughter of king Mitsos. Minthe had fallen in love with one of the servant boys, and when her father found out he banished Minthe from his hall in shame. Devastated, Minthe wandered aimlessly throughout the island and surrounding cliffs for days until she ran into Antínoös. Antínoös invited the young girl back to his family's hall. He was adamant that Minthe was given the same treatment that any guest would get. He gave her food and drink, and then had the servants bathe her and give her fresh clothing. When Minthe returned from her bath she looked like a goddess, her long, dark hair serving as a contrast to her light green eyes, making them sparkle even more. Regardless of everything that Anne Frank and her family experienced, she believed that there was real good in the world. I would have to disagree with this quote. Throughout this play, I have learned that people are not really good at heart. The first reason i believe this is because of how Anne is being a brat to everybody. "Am I allowed to talk now?" pg.39 In this quote I thought she was being sassy about it. She was also in a grumpy mood. She is the "boss" around their. • 14. Why Do People Really Good At Heart Anne Frank stated in her diary that "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." This quote goes to show how optimistic she really was. She hoped that underneath all of the hatred that not only the Nazis beheld, but perhaps also the people that she was hiding with for years, there was at least a small amount of good in them. Personally, I have no clue how she could think that such horrible people are actually good at heart, but her personality definitely reflected it. In addition to this quote indicating that she was optimistic, it suggests that she had hope. She most likely was aware that the Nazi's were not good at heart, but she refused to take that as a fact, and she wanted to make herself think otherwise. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"The woman told us that her husband, Ghulam Ali, had gone to look for another way across the border"(par. 7). The astonishing thing is that Ahmedi was able to undertake this mission and persevered even though she had her own difficulties. " Perhaps my mother's problems distracted me from my own. That might account for it. Perhaps desperation gave me energy and made me forget the rigor of the climb"(par. 12). • 18. Are People Good At Heart Research Paper A question that has been asked for many years is, "Are people good at heart?" However, people just can't seem to agree. They are divided; people fluctuate from side to side, sometimes staying neutral. Still, all this arguing doesn't actually help answer the question. Are people good at heart? The answer, once the evidence is actually looked at and put together, is quite easy to reach. No, people are not good at heart, as they have to learn to be selfless, and if people are truly good at heart, those dark thoughts that "seemingly come out of nowhere" wouldn't pop up. Now, if people truly are good at heart, the evidence would be seen mostly in babies and toddlers. How often has a toddler shared their toys peacefully? Not only that, but when ... Even when thing are going bad at Amsterdam because they have to hided from the green police since they are Jewish. No One knows why she still thinks that people are good at heart. My three main points are optimistic/hopeful,thoughtful/help others, and imaginative. Those are the main points that would support the quote that she say. The first support point is optimistic/hopeful. "This is not the end It is not even the beginning of the end." Is the quote that she said in her diary during that time. When they about to sent Margot to work so they didn't give up and hid from the solders. "I want to bring out all kind off things that lied buried deep in my heart." She said this quote when she wrote in her diary every time so one knows what she is thinking about and just let it out. • 22. Anne Frank Good Heart Do you believe all people have a little good in them? Anne Frank did. She was a Jewish teenage girl who went into hiding during Holocaust of World War II. She didn't want to live up to her mother's expectations, mostly because she felt that she couldn't. All her mother wanted was for her to be more like Margot, her older sister. In fact, she stated in her diary, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." There are many reasons why she said this. But they all circulate around the primary idea that she was an optimistic person and tried to always see the brighter side in everything. Initially, my evidence comes from Anne's Diary, which was found by Miep Gies after the Franks and Van Daans were taken to the concentration camps in 1944. This quote can be found on page 356 in lines 27 and 28. She says, "As for us, we're quite fortunate. Luckier than millions of people. It's quite safe here..." As I stated before, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Remember that she is only a young teenager, and that she's likely not aware of all the danger she's truly in. Because of this, there is a huge impact on how she thinks of others. It's a lot easier for her to believe that people are all good at heart this way. In her diary, Anne once said "I don't think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains," this quote shows how Anne recognizes all the hate and sadness in the world, but she always tries to look past it and see the beauty that is still there. This also shows Anne's viewpoint on people, and how, unlike her, most people first see the flaws of other people, but she always tried to look past the poor parts and see the best in people. Also this is seen in the play, such as we saw how she is caring for her sister and father. That is the last piece of evidence I have that shows that Anne was a positive ... But people like Anne Frank even in the midsts of everything she went through still believed all people were good at heart. I too think people are good at heart because of an empathy all people are born with; but that their ideas are changed because the people and things that surround them. All people are born with good hearts, but they as a person are morphed by the people, ideas, and world around them. Most people are greatly influenced by the society they live in and what it teaches them. Like Germen children during the Holocaust, children are taught and impacted by their society from a young age negative or positive. Being raised on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Parents are a child's greatest influence and what they teach their children is what their children will reflect out to the world. Parents who teach their children values, empathy, and self discipline usually have more kind and open minded children. Mrs. and Mr. Frank were great examples of open minded parenting when Mr. Frank tells Anne "There are no walls, there are no bolts,no locks that anyone can put on your mind" (290). This is a good example of how Anne's parents pushed her to be openminded and to put her education first; which influenced her greatly as a person. Also, many people are not educated on important issues which causes people to be uninformed or misinformed. For example, in the Holocaust many people did not know how barbaric the Nazis were towards Jews. Most people did not know to help or how to help because most did not know what was going on. People that are able to educate themselves on issues are able to help or protest against issues. Lastly, another large reason people are changed heart–wise is because of the examples of other people. From everyday people on the street to your parents, people are constantly influencing and changing your ideas, whether they are good or bad. • 26. People Are Good At Heart In Anne Frank The theme in Anne Frank that all people are good at heart is strongly affected by the characters. Some of the characters that affect it the most are Anne, Mr. Van Daan, and Miep Gies and Mr. Kraler. They either affect it negatively or positively as we will found out. The theme people are good at heart is a theme everybody should relate to in someway. Anne is one of the people that impacts the theme in a very positive way. Anne is a person who always looks at the better side of things in an situation. Even though they are forced to go into hiding for multiple years, she talks of what she wants to do when they get out. This has a great affect on the rest of the people in the annex. It gives them motivation and keeps their spirits up. She also is very thoughtful and helpful. For instance, she was always helping people and giving them gifts all through out act one. In act two, she said that she always thought positively and never negatively. She would then pass that attitude on to the adults that were scared for there safety. All in all, Anne was a person who impacted the ones around her in a positive way. ... They would make daily visits to bring supplies and news of what was happening at the time. They were also putting their owns lives at risk by hiding them in the annex. One time, Miep saved her sugar rations over several weeks even months to bake them a cake. Mr. Kraler was even put into a place he didn't want to be in. This was when a worker blackmailed him or he would tell the Nazi's of the annex. He ended up paying him the money to try to save the ones in the annex, but the worker still told of the annex to the Nazi's. These acts show us that they are good at heart because they kept them hiding even in tough situations. To conclude, Miep Gies and Mr. Kraler are important to the positive side of the ... I tend to ask myself what truly defines me or what I stand for, and in so doing, I find myself contemplating on most definitions people regard me too. Like they do say: "Obi, you are kind...", "You're caring, compassionate..." no "Obie, you fill an empty soul with so much happiness", and so many more people say. At times, I begin to ponder why people say such wittily words, little did I know that my name "Obioma" adds up to my personality. "Obioma", when translated to English means "Good heart". Is it that I am required to live by its meaning, or do I naturally have these many 'good' characteristics? Well, I would say it does come naturally. I define myself by the uniqueness of my name. I don't say this just to flaunt, but because it's indeed true that having a good heart as an inborn have made me articulate my existence on earth. While growing as a child, it was difficult to overlook people in pains and most especially those in the hospital (children in particular). People are evil and selfish it is hard to see it but you can start seeing it sooner or later. Based on the information gathered in module 4 most people are not good at heart because people are naturally selfish and evil. People are born selfish. "Mr. VanDaan he goes to the food safe and again lights a match. Then cautiously opens the safe taking out a half–loaf of bread" (Goodrich and Hackett 341). People want things perfect for themselves. People will push others out of the way to get things they need. Mr. VanDaan saw that Peter's stomach was growling at night yet still Mr. VanDaan took the bread. • 32. Anne Frank: Are People Really Good At Heart? Have you ever just thought that someone was just straight up mean and cruel, or even just bad at heart? Well I have. Especially all of the Germans involved in the holocaust when they killed many Jews and allied forces just because they wanted to. Although one Jewish girl named Anne Frank wrote something down in her journal that totally changed my perspective about that. This is what she wrote, " In Spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart." After I heard that quote I started to believe what she had said. Although no matter how bad someone is, what they do, or what they say, they are still somewhat good at heart no matter what. One of the reasons that I agree with Anne, are because of Mr. Kraler and Miep. Even though their lives are at stake they are still being kind and nice to the Franks and the Van Daans. Also throughout the book Anne started lighting up and being nice and kind to everyone. This shows how she is very selfless and gave up her time and materials to make these gifts for them and it was very caring. • 34. All People Are Good At Heart According to Anne Frank, all people are good at heart. But is that really true? Well, the truth is, that not all people are good at heart. Furthermore, The people anne was referring to as "good at heart" were the individuals responsible for the mass murder of the innocent Jewish people. Additionally, The Jews were forced out of their homes, had their businesses taken away, etc. for no valid reason except for their religion. And finally If everyone was good at heart, than the fighting and bickering occuring in the Annex, wouldn't have come about. A quote form the play says "Peter: Father says he is going to sell her fur coat. She's crazy about that old coat." To elaborate on this quote, The people in the annex are not acting "good at heart" in this situation. Mr. Van Daan is trying to sell Mrs Van daan's coat for cigarettes and he know that the coat means a lot to her. If Mr Van Daan was good at heart, he would consider his wife's feelings and wouldn't sell the coat. He already took all of Mrs. Van Daans other valuables and now he's trying to sell something given to her by her dead grandfather. To add on to my point, this next quote states, "Dussel: "Thanks to this clumsy fool there is now someone who knows we are up here!" In this quote, Mr Dussel blames the loud noise on peter. Peter did do it, but it wasn't necessary to call him out for it. If he was good at heart he wouldn't have done this and just tried to address the situation. This quote makes Mr. Dussel look like a jerk even though he is actually nice. This is all because of World War 2 occuring in the background. Those who were Jewish in heritage or religion were deemed an inferior race, and were sent to persecution camps. This was the kickstart to WWII, and one of the most horrid events in human history. A Jewish girl in hiding named Anne Frank said " In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.". Even though a lot of people do awful things everyday, I think that this quote is very true. He is a good man and has a good heart, but he soon commits a crime that will forever change his life. Raskolnikov is a good man; I believe he is kind, generous, and selfless. Now, how are all of these positive traits found in a murderer? I think was caught in a psychotic moment, his mental state was not all there, and he had a dream, he made a plan, and he committed this terrible crime. A good example of Raskolnikov being a kind hearted person, and selfless is when he sees a young girl at the end of the street, he sees by her a rough looking man staring at her. He starts to get very worried what this man might do to this young girl. He goes down the street to get this young girl, and he pays for a taxi to get her home. This was so generous, and small yet so impactful. Raskolnikov cared about what might happen to this young girl, and did something about it. This showed how selfless Raskolnikov is, and what a kind heart he has. I think this shows Raskolnikov's true character. From here, he makes some terrible decisions, and is engulfed by guilt, but I believe he is a generous, kindhearted person. I believe that defeats the purpose of what it means to dedicate your time to others and be truly altruistic. What does it mean to genuinely give your time to others? In today's modern society many students in preparatory school such as high schools and junior high schools are now requiring students to do "donate" their time to volunteer work or community service. We constantly hear about mass shootings and murders, and we don't often hear about good things. Anne Frank wrote once, "...I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart." She wrote this when Nazi's were persecuting jews and she was in hiding in a cramped space with her family and another. It amazes me that even though Anne Frank knew there is a possibility of being found out by the Nazi's and being killed she still said that people are good at heart. However, everyone has a rotten heart that has good moments sometimes. An example to show that people are naturally bad are infants. Of course almost everyone loves newborn babies because of how sweet and adorable they are, but who taught them to wail or throw things? Surely, parents do not teach their children to behave badly, they just do so on their own accord. In fact in the bible(Psalm 51:5), it states that we were all born into the world as sinners: "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me." The Good Heart Sparknotes Many Good Hearts: Unifying Humans by Human Nature by Alex Prindle I have never experienced space travel, and I probably will never get the chance to have that experience, but one of the common insights that astronauts claim while looking at planet earth from outer space that they cannot see any boundaries between different countries or cultures. The only view possible is one planet that is separated by two elements: land and sea. Every human being assumedly is born of the same planet, so thus when looking "down" at planet earth, each world conflict or issue can seem so insignificant due to the fact that we are all born in the same place; we all get experience light from the same sun (49), and these aspects of life unify us as living beings. Community Life And Civic Engagement Community life and civic engagement are a huge responsibility of citizens, although it is not required by citizens, it is an important aspect of a proper citizen. Residents of a community have the constant responsibility of making the society around them reflect an advance in the eminence of lives in the community. The simple duty of any citizen is to give to the common good. Civic responsibilities are achieved by volunteering and choice. Volunteering, involving in positive organizations and aids, or tutoring people in certain subjects, are all ways that people can subsidize to the good of the community. Small deeds that seem to prosper someone in some way or the other is still a way of helping. To learn something from the assistance that one does to another, the deed does not have to be big, as long as the person providing the assistance is doing it with a good heart they can always acknowledge a lesson. Compassion and love is necessary in helping others. When people have the opportunity to help others they may not always get a gift in return, sometimes they may not even get a reply back. This is when the person has to realize that the purpose of helping someone is not for the thank you or the gift, but is for the satisfaction of their soul, betterment of the other, and the ability to learn a lesson. Assisting people needs to be done in a thoughtful and effective way for it to create a lasting impact on his/her self and on society itself. Learning to be literate, working ... This quote is by Anne Frank and reveals that Anne still has hope that World War II will end soon. I believe Anne asserted this on behalf of lifting everyone's spirits with hope. Also, Anne wants to stay strong and continue being positive throughout her ordeal. My final, and utmost supportive idea, is that far and wide, Anne wants to try to remain hopeful. In the next couple paragraphs, I will be discussing evidence to back this up. The quote Anne implied at the end of the play, The Diary of Anne Frank, voices the opinion that Anne announced this quote because she wanted to lift everybody's spirits by sharing her hope with family and friends. When Anne gave her whole family gifts she attempted to lift everybody's spirits. Accordingly, Anne believes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 62. Short Story Of A Rebel My mother always told me one bad apple can spoil the whole tree. Your parents can tell you who is real and who is fake before you can. Once you get mixed up with the wrong crowd, people start to look at you differently. Do not let one bad person ruin your life for you. Because that's exactly what happened to me. Choose your friends wisely because if not, their bullshit will become yours! You ever had a life changing moment in your life that makes you look at someone in a different light? I have, when I was a junior in high school, my perspective on people changed dramatically. Asonte, seventeen, the rebel, and loud mouthed one. My suspicions grew because she has shoplifted before in the past. She eventually came out from the dressing rooms and was ready to go. It was weird because she didn't bring the clothes out to put on the counter so the workers can put them back. I was just hoping that she didn't steal out of this store because Macy's doesn't play when it comes to stolen merchandise. Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Was all I heard as we walked out of the store. I was livid as fuck because I had a feeling Asonte's dumb ass did something stupid. I didn't even hear the manager saying, "We needed to follow her to the back to discuss the stolen merchandise." I swear I felt my body heat up faster than hell itself. We got to the back and the lady asked us to remove everything from our purses. Victoria and I didn't have a problem because we didn't take anything, but Asonte on the other hand was acting funny, Spencer 3 you could tell from her facial expression that she had stolen. • 64. Real Good Of The Town At Heart Analysis In a society that values materialistic and useless items, there's still the overbearing detail that it is a society overruled and essentially run by naivety and selfishness. Today's society is most definitely not what it was in 1880s, and with good reason. People would much rather ignore what they can then accept someone else's opinion. An example of this is in politics. No matter how much someone tries, they will never be equal. Especially in recent elections, families will go to drastic measures and essentially remove a member from their family if they don't agree with another's opinion. Not only is this showing that they are naïve, but they're also selfish. Granted there are reasons to agree with their actions, there's still the voice in their head that is turning them in this direction to the idea of 'good versus bad.' ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the play, Dr. Stockmann says, "It is I who have the real good of the town at heart!" (30). Thomas was shown as a naïve man throughout the play, however in this scene especially, he is saying that he has the 'real good' of the town at heart, yet while he may be right, he was continuously blindsided by his naivety which resulted in him and his family being shunned from the town. This relates to today's society as there are often individuals, specifically those in power or who have authority over others, place themselves on pedestals and preach their messages to masses of supporters yet they're saying things that come across as insightful or problematic. The masses don't realize this as they too are unaware of their own naivety so they keep listening and spread that message, regardless of what someone else may be telling them. They don't want to listen to what they don't have to because granted they have that right, yet they use it for selfish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 66. Good And Evil In The Tell-Tale Heart Some would say good and some would say evil, some would say that humans are both, unless forced to take a side. Human's do have good in them, for if they didn't there would be no kindness in the world, for example taking the time to help a troubled old lady cross a busy street. Of course to be a human you are going to have a small amount of evil residing inside of you, for all humans have been selfish at some point in their life. Hopefully, you get the idea now, that I believe that humans are inherently evil. People can become evil from fear. This was during a memory the Giver transmuted into Jonas, but in their world now they no longer have any physical touching in between each other, such as they are not allowed to touch people who are outside of their family unit, and the families themselves already do not touch each other very often. On a separate occasion, the Giver was explaining to Jonas about color, "There was a time, actually when flesh was many different colors... We've never completely mastered Sameness. I suppose the genetic scientists are still hard at work trying to work the kinks out..." (Lowery pg. 94–95). This could show that the scientists want to make it so that nobody is different for each other, but when they do that, when they reach total Sameness, it will erase all of the differences of the world, and the differences between our looks will disappear forever. • 68. Good At Heart In The Diary Of Anne Frank How do you picture someone that is good at heart? Maybe you see them as a hero that saved someone's life, but a person can do the slightest deed and still be considered good at heart. In "The Diary of Anne Frank," there were many characters that contributed to the theme that people are good at heart. The characters not only developed the theme through their words, but they also developed the theme through their actions. "The Diary of Anne Frank," was a diary that was written by Anne Frank during the time of World War II and the Holocaust. The diary gave us real life information from the time of that devastating event. This play showed us that many people are good at heart, but the theme was mostly developed through the characters Anne Frank, Miep Gies, and Mr. Frank. To begin, Anne was a selfless, outgoing, and positive young girl that had to live in hiding. Anne was always positive during the time of the war, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Frank also contributed to the theme that people are good at heart. In Act 1, scene 2, he decided to take in the Van Daan's even though it increased the danger of them hiding. That showed that Mr. Frank had a big heart because the Van Daan's could have blew their cover, but he took them in anyway. In addition, in Act 1, scene 5, he took in Mr. Dussel without hesitation. When Miep brought Mr. Dussel to the Annex, Mr. Frank said that they could stretch the food and would take him in. In conclusion, Mr. Frank was always looking to help people and take them into hiding. To tie it all up, in "The Diary of Anne Frank," there were many characters that contributed to the theme that people are good at heart. A lot of the characters expressed this theme, but Anne Frank, Miep Gies, and Mr. Frank contributed to the theme the most. • 70. People Are Good At Heart By Anne Frank Have you ever been in a situation where someone has done something to hurt you or anyone else? Would you think they were still good at heart? The statement made by Anne Frank "Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart" I agree with this statement due to the fact that although in The Holocaust many Jews were being hurt, Many Germans didn't have an opinion on the topic and if they ever did say something they were ignored. Although many Jews were in agony, German soldiers didn't have an opinion on the topic many German soldiers were actually kind to many Jewish workers for example " He liked children. • 72. Anne Frank: Are People Really Good At Heart? Are people really good at heart? While Anne Frank was hiding in the annex, she wrote, "Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart". But, the Nazis terrorized six million people during the Holocaust, and in Anne Frank's diary, the people living in the annex are at each other's throats.. Although some people say that Hitler was only trying to protect Germany, they clearly were not thinking of Kristallnacht. First, the Nazis killed and mistreated many Jews, homosexuals, and gypsies during their reign. In the article, 1933 Hitler Comes to Power, it says, "The SS– Hitler's elite paramilitary force– had long been terrorizing Germany's Jews, beating them up and vandalizing their businesses". This shows that Hitler and the Nazis were wrongfully abusing Jews. There was no legitimate reason. Also, in the article, "'No power on earth will get me out of here alive.' someone heard him say". This means Hitler had no intent on doing any good while in office. He was fortunate he was appointed Chancellor, so he could carry out his plans. Therefore, Hitler and the Nazis were not good at heart. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, in the play, it says, "'What is it? What happened?' 'A nightmare. Also, "Just a little– discussion over the advisability of selling this coat. As I have often reminded Mrs. Van Daan, it's very selfish of her to keep it when people outside are in such desperate need of clothing..." • 74. Tim Thomas Who Is Really Ben In the movie Tim Thomas who is really Ben is an all around good person who used bad qualities to help people in need. He impersonated his brother the real Tim Thomas to get close to a woman who was in need of a heart. He was dealing with the death of his wife, which I believe he blamed himself for the accident. He took the life of 6 other people in the car including his wife, but he survived. He wanted to repay his debt to society by donating his organs to those who needed them, and his ultimate sacrifice ws his heart he gave to Emily. His character changed, because of he used being an IRS agent to get close to the people he wanted to help. The real Ben Thomas his brother the real IRS agent tried the entire movie to catch up with him. Being on the run, and very short with him on the phone Ben was never able to catch up with him until he started tracking the people Tim inquired about using his credentials. Overall Tim was a good guy who just wanted to help Ben, but Ben continuously avoided him. Tim's character itself never changed , he was just concerned about what his brother was doing, and trying everything in his power to help him. Dan Morris was Tim's best friend he grew up with. He was just there to make his "will" and keep it current. I believe he knew Ben's motive, but not to the extent of everything he was doing. • 76. Are People Truly Good At Heart Are people truly "good at heart" or are people just born horrible. Anne Frank thought that people were and I agree with her one hundred percent. You can't just judge people by what they portray since the Germans were forcing people into their army, therefore the soldiers might have not wanted to harm the Jews. After reading Anne Frank's diary, watching the movie, reading the play, and researching the Holocaust I agree with Anne Frank's statement. The reasons that I agree are that the Holocaust won't last forever, the soldier showed kindness to Otto Frank when they were packing up their belongings, and lastly that the world is experiencing a phase. In conclusion, people really are good at heart. The first reason that people are truly "good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is shown in the movie where the soldier stops the other soldiers from ruining the annex after he finds out that Otto was in the army. It is also shown in the play where it says," They are waiting for us now. They've allowed us five minutes to get our things. We can each take a bag and whatever it will hold of clothing." These quotes are significant in many ways. The first way is where the soldier wouldn't let the others destroy the secret annex. This shows how people are"good at heart" by showing how the soldier gave even a little kindness when he had the chance. He didn't have to stop the other soldiers from destroying the house since the people weren't going to be living there anymore. The second reason is where it said that they had five minutes to get their things together. The soldiers didn't have to allow them any time to pack up, but they did anyway. Anne's family could have had to go to the camp without anything, but the soldiers showed some kindness. The last reason is that the soldiers were waiting on the people in the annex. They could have drug everyone out of the annex and put them into a truck, but they didn't they waited while they packed their things. If they hadn't the people in the annex would have probably died sooner. This is true because the people in the annex where aloud ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 78. No Mas Is A Dramatic Revenge Western NO MAS is a dramatic, revenge Western. While Western revenge plots are very familiar, they are also considered tried and true. What this script offers is a very engaging female protagonist. The script also offers a unique hook: she's a skilled fighter. In fact, the idea of the mystery fighter, actually, sets this script apart. The opening establishes the ordinary world of the heroine, Rosette. Her world is shattered by the murder of her parents and the disappearance of her brother. It's a solid inciting event. Her goal of revenge is clear and the stakes are high. The second act is driven by her need for retribution. The second act introduces her world of being a fighter. The fighting scenes are strong and exciting. In the third act, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She seems to be keeping him at a distance, but then suddenly appear to be good friends. It's not clear how she figures out that he overdosed his wife. To elevate the pace and the tension, one possible solution is to have Rosette find the other invaders and show her killing them, one–by–one with her fighting skills, leaving Fitz as the last one. This is a formula that has been done before, but it works to maintain tension and interest. It also builds suspense. Right now, the tone could be grittier and the violence enhanced. The other issue that feels unsolved is Rosette's brother. It's our understanding that she's still looking for him, but at the end it doesn't feel as if she's going after him. As mentioned, Rosette is a very likable heroine. It's easy to root for her. She makes some wrong decisions, but they are for the right reasons. While flawed, the audience forgives her. She wants justice, but she's driven by revenge at the risk of her life and she has forsaken any personal life for her quest. She's smart and she's determined. She's still grieving and at the end, she seems to be healing. Suspiros is a spirited woman, who immediately sees the good in Rosette and wants to help and rescue her. She's also in a tough situation, but she has a positive attitude and makes the best of it. She's easy to care about. Zurdo is a very colorful character.
