This document discusses a college student's views on information and how it interacts with their life. The student relies on various sources of information as a college student, including radio, email, their school's online portal, Google, YouTube, textbooks, articles, and what other people tell them. While the student prefers obtaining information in older traditional ways, they have had to adapt to using new technologies that are predominantly how information is now shared and accessed. The student is concerned about how their need to constantly adapt to changes in information sources will impact their future after college.

Fundamentals of Information Literacy Midterm Project
1. The
Interaction
of
Information
with My Life
as a
College
Student
2. My Views on Information
Vs. My Life as a College
Student
I think that
information is
essential, but I
think you can get
all you need the old
fashioned way. Being
a college student I
have had to learn to
get information the
way it’s given to
me.In this day in
time that means,
more often than not,
using the new
technology that I’d
just assume live
without.
3. My Interactions with These are the sources
Informtion as a of information I use
College Student
on a regular basis:
Being a college • Radio
student,
interactions
• E-Mail
with • Georgia View
information are • Google
inevitable. • Yahoo
That being said
I have had to • You Tube
learn to just • Textbooks
seek the • Articles
neccessities
and nothing • What people tell me
more.
4. Radio
The radio is what I
listen to so I can
get information
about the news and
the weather both
locally and in the
surrounding areas
too. It’s a source
for the ads of
stores, places to
eat, and products
available.The fact
that there are
stations like this
that play my
favorite music
makes radio my go
to place for
information.
5. E-Mail
Before I started
college I could
have cared less
about e-mail, but
now it has become
an essential to
surviivng college.
E-mail is what my
professors and
fellow students
use to communicate
with me and
without it I would
be lost with no
clue of what was
going on.
6. Georgia View
Georgia View is
probably the most
important tool for
me as a college
student. It’s
where I do my work
for classes,
communicate with
professors and
fellow students,
get updates, and
have access to
basic information
about classes.
7. Google
Gooogle is the
search engine I
use to find maps,
images, research
on subjects,
stores to shop at,
and the prices of
products.
8. Yahoo
Yahoo is the
search engine I
use for finding
phone numbers,
addresses, reviews
on things, store
hours and
locations, and the
answers to
questions.
9. You Tube
You Tube is the
number one place I
go to for finding
out how to do
things and it
doesn’t even
matter what I am
trying to figure
out how to do.
Surprisingly, the
videos are really
pretty accurate
and helpful too.
10. Textbooks
Textbooks have
always been the
things I rely most
on for my classes.
If I have the book
and I am able to
read and understand
it then I’ll have a
pretty good
understnding of the
class. Textbooks
are full of
information that
I’ll need to know
for the class and
they present that
information in a
detailed way that
is easy to follow.
11. Articles
Artciles are what
I read to learn
about something
new, to get new
perspectives, or
just for the kick
I get out of some
of them. It really
doesn’t even
matter what kind
of articles they
are I’ll usually
read them, I learn
things from
everthing.
12. What People Tell Me
What people tell me
is a form of
information I hold
very highly, I even
find it more useful
than some of the
things I read. I know
that there is nothing
like the experience
of having been
through it yourself
and people that have
can tell me a lot.
That is not to say
that I rely on what
everybody says, I
have to come to know
and trust that person
first.
13. The Future of
Information and My
Life as a College
Student not too fond
If things keep continuing as they are I don’t
know what I’ll do. I am already
of all the changes I am having to undergo in
order to survive as a college student . I am
sure that all the changes there are now are
going to be nothing compared to what will
come in the future. I just hope I’ll be out
of college then, but I’ll probably be in a job
that requires the same things of me. I am
confident that I’ll find a way to live with it
just as I have had to do.
