This project requires students to analyze an existing healthcare system in a small US city, conceive an improved healthcare service and design a new facility to provide that service. Students must develop the structure, functions and processes of the facility and submit a proposal outlining the situation, background, assessment and recommendation. The proposal should benefit the healthcare system and community in a fiscally, socially, ethically and politically responsible way. Students must select a city with under 200,000 people, preferably in their home state, and provide a 700-1,050 word profile of the city including details like maps, medical services, demographics, income, employment and residences, along with a rationale for their selection.
