8. Advantages of Cloud Computing
 Agility – improves the processing and working time
 Access – able to access files from any computer with an internet connection.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
 Back up – if a file or document is lost, then it is retrievable from the cloud.
 Cost – Cost effective as only an internet connection is needed.
 Sharing and Collaboration – Share work without having to use paper and
with anyone in the world.
Change in work patterns – Can be opened and edited anywhere in the
world, with multi users at one time.
 Less exposure – confidential information can be protected more than if it
was printed on paper.
 Acquire and develop new skills – users are using technology to recognise
and learn transferable skills.

9. Disadvantages of Cloud
Computing
 Internet connection – Internet connection needs to be reliable and usable
24/7.
 Hackers – unauthorised users may gain access to the data and files.
 Dependant on speed of the internet connection – can be slow to backup
and restore from the cloud.
 Technical Issues – all users need to create and set up an account as
well as dysfunctions and problems.
