 OER’s are FREE!
 This is a benefit in and of itself.

3.  OER’s add a nearly unlimited amount of
resources to any course.

4.  OER’s allow students to revisit material any
time to enhance retention.

5.  OER’s allow anyone to use the material.
They just have to be sure of the ‘open
license’ labeling of the Creative
Commons.

6.  OER’s share information/materials from
across the globe!

7. Disadvantages of OER’s
 Is the material from an OER necessarily
high quality or relevant.

8.  OER’s should be updated consistently or
may be useless.

9.  Once it is out there…it is out there!

10.  Funding of OER’s may be an issue to
maintain for some institutions.

11.  Both instructors and students are not used
to this way of teaching/learning.
