2. • AGE: 16-24 year olds
• OCCUPATION: Mostly students
• GENDER: Male & Female (although recent research has shown that more
women are watching films)
4. • After establishing my main facts about my target
audience I did a lot of research into their interests and
lives.
• In my genre research and audience questionnaire, I found
that most people want a drama film to reflect their lives
and have similar themes so they can empathise with the
characters. For this reason a lot of my research into my
audience will help me with what to include in my
narrative/ trailer.
5. • Life events between 16 & 24:
- graduating school
- starting college
- starting university
- graduating university & college
- moving out
- first relationships
- breakups
- family problems
- passing driving test
- getting a job
- possibly getting engaged
6. • Interests of 16-24 year olds:
- Smartphones
- Texting
- Music
- Twitter
- Facebook
- Tumblr
- YouTube
- Blogging
- Gigs
- College/ school work
- Sports
- High street fashion
7. • From my audience research I discovered that my trailer should
include some of my target audience’s interests so it will seem
realistic and appeal to them.
• Events that happen in their lives will probably be happening in
my character’s lives too as they will be the same age
(something that my audience said they would prefer in my
questionnaire).
• I also discovered that most of their interests include technology
– for example when I asked 20 friends, all of them had a
Facebook, over 15 had a Twitter and half of them had a Tumblr
account. All of them owned a mobile phone and over 15 had
smart phones.
• Technology, therefore, should play a major role in my film and
trailer as it clearly would in the character’s lives.
