2. There is no such thing as a “best practice” CRM
solution in today’s marketplace. The reason for
this is because business is changing at an
extremely rapid pace, and no best practice
solution can accommodate all this change. At
BluRoot we pride ourselves in giving our
customers the most customized solution that is
currently available.
3. Lets take a look at the reasons why a “best
practice CRM” is not the best solution for
companies in this day and age:
4. No Fluff – A lot of the pre-built, best practice
solutions, are built for the masses, and because
of this there is an abundance of features that are
only used by certain industries. A great example
of this could be a CRM having modules such as
sales orders or quotes as an essential piece of
the system, and certain companies will not even
need this module of the CRM system.
5.
6. Because these CRM systems are made for the
masses there is a lot of what we call “fluff” which
makes you think (on the surface) that by paying
this subscription fee you are getting an all
encompassing system. However, this attitude is
incorrect as we always like to tell our clients,
“your not getting an all encompassing piece of
software, your simply getting a fluffy and inflated
piece of software that you will not use. “ This is a
common tactic used by many companies to
inflate prices. By customizing your CRM to your
exact needs it does not have this issue, instead
you can be sure that exactly what you need is
readily available to you.
7.
8. Integration, Integration, Integration! – This
point is extremely important when looking into
getting a CRM platform. It is inevitable today
that just about any business is connected in
some way or another to computer software, and
because of this you as a company have
become comfortable with these systems.
9. Here lies a problem, there are switching costs
involved in your company completely switching
away from this software system and beginning to
use an out of the package CRM system to
process deals, and often times this switching cost
is so high that it does not make financial sense.
10. Instead, with a customized CRM with API
capabilities, one can create the processes
needed to work in and around your already
functioning system and constantly add to it
whenever it is needed. This becomes a huge
benefit, because now you are simply adapting
your business with a new system instead of
completely and totally transforming it (where it
may not even be needed).
11.
12. Customization For Different Departments-
Different departments need different solutions,
and because of this a CRM system that is out of
box will not fulfill their needs. For example the
accounting department may not need access to
all of the marketing modules, although they would
like to see dashboards of how marketing is doing,
to initialize cost benefit analysis, they do not need
to actually input data into the marketing sheets.
Further if accounting needs an accounting
specific application that is currently not offered in
the “ out of box” CRM solution you would not be
able to accommodate their needs.
13.
14. As you can see CRM and a customized CRM
solution are two very different things. One
focuses on personalization, integration, and
adaptability, while the other tries to incorporate
the best of all worlds. Unfortunately, this simply
is not good enough. In today’s business world
customizing a CRM solution is the only viable
solution. If you need help in doing this contact
us and we would be glad to walk you through
our process.
