Fix IP Address Conflicts Using CMD
1. Windows has detected an IP address conflict
There are a few times people get annoyed because they can connect to internet because of this famous
error that probably everyone has encountered ”Windows has detected an IP address conflict”
On way to fix this error is if you restart your laptop and restart the wireless, switch or whatever you are
using to connect to internet. Another way is to use CMD (Command Prompt) to renew the IP Addresses
or to release the addresses. In this tutorial we are going to show you how to do fix Windows has
detected an IP address conflict using CMD.
Step1:
To open CMD go to start menu and write “CMD” and press “Enter” or hold the Window button on
keyboard and “R” to open “Run” then write “CMD” and press “Ente r”.
3. Step 2:
After you have opened the CMD write the following code into CMD.
Ipconfig /? – This is used to show the whole syntax of ipconfig.
As you can see in the below picture you can see how to renew all adapters and you can release all
matching connections.
4. To renew all adapters write the following code:
Ipconfig/renew
After you press enter this is how CMD window will look.
5. If you want to release your IP Address then write the following code:
Ipconfig /release
Note: After you release the IP Addresses your internet will stop working you will have to renew the IP
Addresses. In other words after you release your IP Address after that you will have to renew the IP
Addresses by using Ipconfig/renew.
