The action plan aims to improve Henderson Elementary's accountability rating and the percentage of fifth graders meeting standards on the science TAKS by 2010. Strategies include providing afterschool science tutorials, professional development on concept mapping software, and coordinating with a university science department for field trips, guest speakers and teacher training. Formative evaluations will track improved assessment scores throughout, with the overall goal of 70% of fifth graders and each student group meeting standards on the 2010 science TAKS.
