Learning technology goals <ul><li>A detailed, curriculum focus of long term technology planning. </li></ul><ul><li>Addresses educational needs and allows for technology enabled learning. </li></ul><ul><li>Attainable at various levels of skills and expertise. </li></ul><ul><li>It requires the infusion of learning technology. </li></ul>
  3. 4. Goals <ul><li>Improved student achievement and enhanced learning outcomes are the guiding principles to procuring, implementing and using technology within Horizon. </li></ul><ul><li>Addressed through Long Range Learning Outcome Goals </li></ul>
  4. 5. #1 – Reading <ul><li>By June of 2011, 80% of students will use infused technology to support reading outcomes. </li></ul>
  5. 6. Reading Objectives <ul><ul><ul><li>Teachers will utilize CentraliSchool – Information/Communication Technology [1] in subject areas. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Students will use online reading sites, reading tutors, and/or interactive reading programs. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The students will record a reading sample, share and self assess their own work using one of a variety of options such as tape recording, software applications, and video taping. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>[1] http://www.centralischool.ca/wblrd/web_resources.html </li></ul></ul></ul>

Writing Objectives <ul><li>Teachers will utilize CentraliSchool – Information/Communication Technology in subject areas. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will use interactive tools to develop the writing process such for pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. (Inspiration/Kidspiration, KidPix, PowerPoint) </li></ul><ul><li>The student will compose, publish and share the writing sample with an audience electronically. </li></ul>

Mathematics Objectives <ul><li>Teachers will utilize CentraliSchool – Information/Communication Technology in subject areas. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will use online math sites, math tutors, and/or interactive math programs. </li></ul><ul><li>The students will be able to demonstrate mathematical competency with a variety of instruments. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Calculators, manipulatives (Kidspiration, National Library of Virtual Manipulatives ), measurement tools, spreadsheets (Excel), etc. (KidPix) </li></ul></ul>

EROCKs Objectives <ul><li>Students will create a verbal EROCK in Audacity, Sound Recorder, First Class or other program. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will create a visual representation of a concept in Kidspiration/Inspiration, KidPix, or other suitable software. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will create an EROCK using multiple media in KidPix, Kidspiration/Inspiration, PowerPoint, or other suitable software. </li></ul><ul><li>Teachers will create a lesson led using visual representations such as a blog entry, unit in a Learning Management System, PowerPoint notes, Inspiration/Kidspiration template, slide show, webpage, or other suitable electronic medium. </li></ul>
