Students recognize the use of so and neither

1.  when we agree with something someone says AND THE sentences are AFFIRMATIVE, we use SO.

2.  when we agree with something someone says AND THE sentences are NEGATIVE , WE USE NEITHER.

4. SO/NEITHER
The easiest way to say “YO TAMBIEN" is "Me too," and the easiest way to say “YO TAMPOCO" is "Me
neither." However, expressions are also used with the words so and neither to express that.

5. To be - With the verb to be is used so or neither, then the verb to be (am), and then the subject (I). See the following
examples.
SENTENCE ANSWER
I'm tired. (Estoy cansado.) So am I. (Yo también.)
I'm not tired. (No estoy cansado.) Neither am I. (Yo tampoco.)
Present - With verbs in the present tense, it is used so or neither, then do, and the subject (I). See the following
examples.
SENTENCE ANSWER
I swim. Yo nado. So do I. Yo también.
I don't swim. Yo no nado. Neither do I. Yo tampoco.
Present Perfect - With verbs in the present perfect, it is used so or neither, then have, and finally the subject (I). See
the following examples.
SENTENCE ANSWER
I've finished. He terminado. So have I. Yo también.
I haven't finished. No he terminado. Neither have I. Yo tampoco.
Future - With verbs in the future, it is used so or neither, then will and finally the subject (I). See the following
examples.
SENTENCE ANSWER
I will study. Estudiaré. So will I. Yo también.
I won't study. No estudiaré. Neither will I. Yo tampoco.
Past - With verbs in the past is used so or neither, then did and finally the subject (I). See the following examples.
SENTENCE ANSWER
I finished. Terminé. So did I. Yo también.
I didn't finish. No terminé. Neither did I. Yo tampoco.
