5. This quote is very important to me; this is something I want all of my students to
believe in.
6. What are we
doing?
I feel that it is important for the students to
know what they are responsible for
throughout the course of the year. We
track our goals every week.
7. My Room
Quote Wall
A small sample of quotes
students have brought in.
Collaborative
Learning
Valuable learning can take
place when working within a
small group.
Individual Work
At times it is best to work
individually.
8. We use teams at Jackson.
This makes it wonderful for
conferencing and tracking
both student progress and
set backs.
9. Technology
Every teacher has a presentation station with a laptop and projector; all core
teachers have either Smart Boards or Mimio systems.
Jackson has six mobile labs and four self-contained computer labs.
10. The nuts and bolts
Jackson is truly a wonderful place to be. I will have students in the same
classroom that are homeless working with a friend/classmate that lives in a
home worth more than a half a million dollars. It is hard for some adults to
believe that most of our students really don’t place much importance in
money.
11. Academic Success is Important—Not
how you get there!
It is the same with our special ed department. Students will have services
provided in pull out settings or with special labs and the other kids really
don’t give it much thought.
Students in special ed are in student council, peer mediation,
robotics…the list could go on.
