3. The obsession with the gym
Over the past few years more and more people have started becoming very obsessed with the
gym, our group wants to ask the question why? We want to know why young people have started
using the gym more and what has fueled the obsession. We want to research into societies
expectations and views of the ‘perfect body’ and interview teenagers to see if this is what has
made them go to the gym, and see if they are going so they can live up to this expectation. We
want to talk to young people and ask if they feel like they have to meet societies expectation of
the ‘perfect body’ and see how this really effects them. We also want to not only research into
girls but boys too as usually people don’t give boys a voice and we want to let them talk about
their opinions.
4. Mental health
Mental health is becoming more talked about In todays society and we want to research into why.
We want to ask young people why they believe mental health is on the rise and would they feel
like they could talk to someone about any problems if they had them. We also want to talk to
professionals and find out if they can see a rise in people coming out with their problems, we
would also ask them for some statistics on the topic. We also want to talk to people about their
experiences with mental health. As a group we also want to focus on boys/men and find out if
they find it hard to open up about their problems and why. We want to do an open narrative for
this documentary so we can leave people thinking if they know anyone who might be going
through this or even themselves and they want to open up.
