Genesis 1:5 - Meditate the Scripture Daily bit by bit
Meditation
1. • A recent study of 1,646 professors of science at 21 elite
universities in the United States found that only a third
(549)chose the statement “ I do not believe in God” to
describe their view. Therefore 1097 believe in the living
God.
• A survey carried out over a decade ago through out the
world reflect the following results:
A poll of 2,200 UK citizen reveal 22% (484)believe In a
personal God who created the world and hears prayers.
But out of the 2,200 55% (1,210) prays casually.
• A survey of 10,000 people across 4 continents believe
there is no God,(atheists) yet 30% (3,000) still prays.
2. Meditate: (Heb-hagah) to read quietly or to talk to
yourself as you think. It involves
reflecting upon God’s Word and ways
and applying them to every area of your
life.
“read quietly or to talk to yourself as you think”
Ps 119:97
O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the
day.
Ps 119:99
I have more understanding than all my teachers:
for thy testimonies are my meditation.
3. Ps 49:3
3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the
meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
Ps 19:14
14 May the words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be acceptable to
You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. HCSB
Ps 119:97
97 How I love Your instruction! It is my meditation
all day long. HCSB
4. “reflecting upon God’s Word”
Heb 11:1
Faith is not believing with evidence but
evidence demonstration of the unseen.
Faith makes certain of realities we do not See.
Ezra 7:10-28 (HCSB)
Ezra had determined in his heart to study the
law of the LORD, obey ⌊it⌋, and teach ⌊its⌋
statutes and ordinances in Israel.
5. “applying them to every area of your life.”
19 My dearly loved brothers, understand this:
Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to
speak, and slow to anger, 20 for man’s anger
does not accomplish God’s righteousness.
21 Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth
and evil, humbly receive the implanted
word, which is able to save you. 22 But be doers
of the word and not hearers only, deceiving
yourselves. 23 Because if anyone is a hearer of
the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking
at his own face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at
himself, goes away, and immediately forgets
what kind of man he was.
6. • 25 But the one who looks intently into the
perfect law of freedom and perseveres in
it, and is not a forgetful hearer but one who
does ⌊good⌋ works—this person will be
blessed in what he does. 26 If anyone thinks
he is religious without controlling his
tongue, then his religion is useless and he
deceives himself. 27 Pure and undefiled
religion before our God and Father is this: to
look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
James 1:19-27 (HCSB)
7. Many failed for lack of :

your ways submit to him, and he will make your
paths straight)

8. • Good fellowship/friendship:
Ps 1:1-3 How happy is the man who does not follow
the advice of the wicked or take the path
of sinners or join a group of mockers!
2 Instead, his delight is in the LORD’s
instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted beside streams of water
that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf
does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.[
