2. Creator Background
My name is Ben Broadfoot.
I am a Jacksonville native,
but have also lived in
Germany, France, New York
City and Santa Cruz,
California. I have had an
architectural design business
for 25 years and have also
been an artist all of my life.
From the early 1970’s, I have
been a fan of blues music and
made many drawings and
paintings inspired by the blues.
3. Project History
Recently, I created 16 original
silkscreen designs of blues
artists. I made the silkscreens,
hand-printed over 600 t-shirts,
and presented them locally at
the 2012 Springing The Blues
Festival, along with paintings
and drawings related to the
blues.
4. In 2012 I was commissioned by K C Crave Restaurant to create three
large paintings for the interior of their new dining establishment.
5. Project History
Dirty Red’s Restaurant in Neptune Beach has twelve of my blues
paintings on display as part of their Southern/Cajun décor.

7. Next Steps
My goal is to grow my
business further here in
Jacksonville. I also want to
develop my website and
promote blues t-shirts and art
to fans throughout the world. I
would like to have the ability
to donate a portion of my
proceeds to a non-profit
organization. I have many
more blues designs ready to
be produced, and in the
future would like to expand
my business to include
designs related to jazz and
other forms of American
music.

9. Uses of Funding
To take my business to the
next level, I need to rent a
work space for art production
and printing, and purchase
additional screen-printing
equipment and supplies. I
need to complete the
development of my website
and continue to promote my
designs to a wider audience.
10. I appreciate the opportunity offered by One Spark and
crowd-funding to make my artistic dreams a reality.
