They were an amazing Company to work for, I sometimes wish I hadn’t left.
8. After Domino’s I took a break from Management.
I went to work as a Trainee for Local 440 Plumbers and
Pipefitters, Indianapolis, IN.
I will say as a Trainee I don’t remember having that kind
of smile while carrying pipe.
Going to this kind of work after working for Domino’s was a shock to my system.
The whole culture was different, I had to learn a whole new way of looking at things.
9. So I added new weapons to my arsenal;
And pulled out some of my old ones.
How to be a team member
not the leader
Safety in the job place
Awareness
How to deal with different
personality types
How to anticipate needs
Organization Inventory
Teamwork
Efficiency But I think more than anything
Goal Setting I learned that the skills I had
Taking Responsibility Learned at Domino’s were useful
In any environment.
Are a few of the old skills
I used.
10. Dark Days
I actually started working for Wendy’s part time while working
As a Trainee. Then after a few months it became my full time job.
I actually worked for Wendy’s a couple of different times. In
Various positions. I refer to these days as the dark days,
Partially because I worked mostly nights; and because it was
Really a place where I didn’t grow much as a person.
I put the blame on me for not growing. The company treated me
Well and I think I treated them pretty well too.
11. Enter the next phase of the journey.
When I worked there it was just PRP.
I think this was one of the most difficult
Jobs I have ever had.
I assembled printing plates for corrugated boxes.
Attention to detail
Accuracy
Focus
Patience
Neatness
Checking my work
How to meet deadlines
12. Enter the next phase of the journey.

Jobs I have ever had.

Attention to detail
Accuracy But I think the most
Focus
Patience
Interesting thing
Neatness Is learning to read
Checking my work Upside down and
How to meet deadlines
backwards
14. Local 440 Indianapolis, IN
When I joined Local 440 as an Apprentice I didn’t realize how much it would
change my life.
5 years as Apprentice
Learned Pipe Fitting/Plumbing Skills
30 hour OSHA Certificate
How to read and understand Blueprints
How to read and understand building specifications.
Plumbing /building codes
Project Planning
This is just a small portion it would take 10 slides to show everything.
15. Local 440 Indianapolis, IN
After my Apprenticeship, I started working as a Journeyman.
During this time I got to work in places that most people will never get to see;
Steel Mills, Pharmaceutical Company's, to High Tech Cancer Research Labs.
Along the way I played many different roles; Employee, Foreman, Superintendent,
and even Project Engineer. As much as I would like to list everything I learned while
doing these different projects it is too much to put on here.
Again though the basic skills I learned at Domino’s all came into play. Most if not
all were built upon and strengthened.
