FRAME 1
Hi learner!
Today you are going to learn about DETERMINERS. A Determiner
is a word that is used to modify or introduce noun in a sentence.
Determiners modify nouns by setting a limitation over the nouns to
indicate how specific or general they are. A determiner usually
appears at the beginning of the noun phrase and works as an
adjective to modify the nouns. It need not always be in the beginning
of a sentence, it can be used with nouns placed anywhere in the
sentence.
For example read the sentence given below:
That picture was painted by Picasso. Here the noun painting
is modified by the determiner that thus indicating the
specific noun painting.

Determiners can be classified into different types:

none).
*Distributive determiners (every, each, either, neither)

Distributive determiners/distributive adjectives are
used to refer to a group or to individual people or
objects within a group. all, each, every, both, half,

When accompanied by ‘of’, each can also be utilized for
plural nouns. In contrast, every cannot be used with
plural nouns

Half denotes precise division of a group or amount into two
equal parts. It follows the same pattern.

  • 3. FRAME 1 Hi learner! Today you are going to learn about DETERMINERS. A Determiner is a word that is used to modify or introduce noun in a sentence. Determiners modify nouns by setting a limitation over the nouns to indicate how specific or general they are. A determiner usually appears at the beginning of the noun phrase and works as an adjective to modify the nouns. It need not always be in the beginning of a sentence, it can be used with nouns placed anywhere in the sentence. For example read the sentence given below: That picture was painted by Picasso. Here the noun painting is modified by the determiner that thus indicating the specific noun painting.
