This document summarizes and discusses three contemporary influential scientists: physicist Brian Greene, known for his work in string theory and ability to communicate complex ideas to the public; primatologist Jane Goodall, considered the leading expert on chimpanzees whose research challenged beliefs about apes; and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, a student of Carl Sagan who has contributed greatly to our understanding of astrophysics and is the director of the Hayden Planetarium.
