Closed-Ended Questions:
Are those which can be answered in only one word or
very short phrase
Open-Ended Questions
This type of questions cannot be answered in one word
but they are questions that have more than one right
answer, or ones that can be answered in many ways.

Identifying information (True/False/Not given):
Students are given a number of statements and are
asked to state whether these statements are True ,
False or Not given.
Students should understand the differences between
‘False’ and ‘Not given’ or ‘Not stated’

This task tests, among other things, the student’s

Here the learners are presented with a number of
sentences or phrases which they have to match

context .

In this type of question, testees are given a summary of
a part of the text, and have to complete it using words
or information taken from the text.

Conclusion
There are many types of tasks that can be included in
an English language test. The teacher choose according
to his objectives and his learners’ abilities.

  • 3. Closed-Ended Questions: Are those which can be answered in only one word or very short phrase Open-Ended Questions This type of questions cannot be answered in one word but they are questions that have more than one right answer, or ones that can be answered in many ways. 4/30/2018
  • 5. Identifying information (True/False/Not given): Students are given a number of statements and are asked to state whether these statements are True , False or Not given. Students should understand the differences between ‘False’ and ‘Not given’ or ‘Not stated’ E.g.: 4/30/2018
  • 6. Multiple-choice Questions Are questions that have several answers from which one is to be chosen E.g.: 4/30/2018
