RespawnInto Tired of playing your favorite game for the 10th time? Respawn into a new favorite.
Problem • Lots of options exist for recommending newly- released video games • When you complete a good game, you want to repeat the feeling, but there is no good method to find related titles • What  already-­‐released  game  is  most  similar  to  the   one  I  just  played?
Exploratory • Pulled game & rating information for 1500+ games from IGN.com • Also pulled review text, comments and commenters on all games
Algorithm • Currently use two methods for recommendation: • Jaccard similarity coefficient • TF-IDF vector similarity • Will combine these measures to produce one set of recommendations • Validate by taking one game a user commented on and predicting what other game they commented on

  • 1. RespawnInto Tired of playing your favorite game for the 10th time? Respawn into a new favorite.
  • 2. Problem • Lots of options exist for recommending newly- released video games • When you complete a good game, you want to repeat the feeling, but there is no good method to find related titles • What  already-­‐released  game  is  most  similar  to  the   one  I  just  played?
  • 3. Exploratory • Pulled game & rating information for 1500+ games from IGN.com • Also pulled review text, comments and commenters on all games
  • 4. Algorithm • Currently use two methods for recommendation: • Jaccard similarity coefficient • TF-IDF vector similarity • Will combine these measures to produce one set of recommendations • Validate by taking one game a user commented on and predicting what other game they commented on
