1. STANDBY! QUIET ON THE SET. (DIRECTOR/AD)
2. CAMERA? (DIRECTOR/AD); ROLLING! (CAMERA PERSON/ DOP)
3. PLAYBACK? (for Audio-guided shoots; DIRECTOR/AD) / SOUND?
4. SPEED! (PLAYBACK PERSON / SOUND RECORDIST)
5. ACTOR/S / TALENTS READY... (DIRECTOR/AD)
6. 3, 2, 1...ACTION! (DIRECTOR/AD)
7. CUT! (DIRECTOR)
8. GOOD! /BEAUTIFUL / ONE MORE / SAFETY (Adjectives of the director to describe the
shot)
HOW TO DO BASIC LIGHTING
1. Know your light sources / availability. Natural and artificial?
2. Availability of practicals
3. Check your foreground, midground and background
4. Set-up your initial lights. Set-up your key. Do you need to fill and put backlight?
5. Adjust the distance of your subject to the light (intensity)
6. Adjust barn doors
7. Check camera settings- exposure, white balance, built in nd filter
8. Adjust barn doors and spotlight/ flood knob / dimmer
9. Put gel filters (blue / amber / nd / diffusers)
10. Put flags and scrims if needed.
