HOW TO DO BASIC LIGHTING
1. Know your light sources / availability. Natural and artificial?
2. Availability of practicals
3. Check your foreground, midground and background
4. Set-up your initial lights. Set-up your key. Do you need to fill and put backlight?
5. Adjust the distance of your subject to the light (intensity)
6. Adjust barn doors
7. Check camera settings- exposure, white balance, built in nd filter
8. Adjust barn doors and spotlight/ flood knob / dimmer
9. Put gel filters (blue / amber / nd / diffusers)
10. Put flags and scrims if needed.
