2. Why I chose this right?
I chose it because I thought I might be
able to make a more informative
presentation about this particular right
Water is needed to live and so I would
be able to find more information on it.
3. Why is this right important?
This right is important because 75% of your
body is made out of water (yes, everyone’s
is, not just yours).
Because of that you need water to live.
This right is also important because water
helps us to:
Cook, clean, cool down, play lots of
things, generate electricity, run
factories, wash things and to live!
4. How is this right upheld or not upheld?
It is upheld by:
UNICEF and
Organizations like Hidaya,
many others as well
By companies that install pipes underground
so that clean water is always running into
your faucet whenever you need it
By the man that comes to your house to
deliver drinking water
By the handyman or plumber that fixes your
faucets and water pipes
5. It is not upheld by:
1 Billion people around the world don’t have
access to clean water
Overpopulation
Overconsumption
Droughts
Water pollution
In some countries you have to manage with 1
bucket of water per day per person and you
would have to fulfill all your needs in that much
6. Other Facts!!!!!
3% of the earth is fresh water
2% is locked up in icebergs, glaciers and
snowcaps
Only 1% is usable to humans
It is in rivers, lakes, underground areas
called aquifers and man-made lakes called
reservoirs
That is only a little bit more than 10,000
cubic KM of usable fresh water
