This document compares the theoretical values of blood flow in different blood vessels to values measured by laser Doppler flowmetry. The aorta has a theoretical flow of 40-60 cm/s and was measured at around 50 cm/s. Arteries have a theoretical flow of 30-50 cm/s and were measured at around 40 cm/s, and veins and arterioles show similar small differences between theoretical values and those measured.
