Think about some of the ways in which the aging process might impact the ability to function in the world. For example, does getting from one place to the other become more complicated as we age? As we accommodate our aging bodies, do we allow more time for even short trips? Do we limit our driving and rely more on public transportation? Do we rely more on others to get us where we are going? Persistent feelings of sadness and guilt, changes in sleeping patterns (insomnia or oversleeping), changes in appetite, decreased mental and physical energy, unusual irritability, inability to enjoy once-enjoyed activities, difficulty working, and thoughts of death or suicide are all symptoms that can be associated with any type of depressive disorder. These "down" symptoms alone may indicate a unipolar depressive disorder like dysthymia or severe depression if they are present. A person may be diagnosed with bipolar illness if they experience alternating spells of depression and euphoria. Adolescents and young adults increasingly have difficulties with their mental health (Poppen et al., 2016). An individual's mental health is something only they can fully comprehend, making it difficult for friends and loved ones to spot warning signs in time to intervene. Juvenile and young adult suicide is a major problem in today's world. A lack of life experiences, self-confidence, and faith in one's own skills contribute to the suicides of many young individuals.
ii) Significance of the practice problem/gap at the project site
Mental illness has been a problem that is affected the population for a long period and worryingly young people and adolescents are experiencing many effects that lead to some committing suicide. The stress that today's youth encounter nowadays is the most significant of all these issues, especially the pressure they receive based on their academic expectations and poor communication about their troubles to their parents. There is also a gap in the schools in terms of students receiving counseling services because there are limited professional counselors that attend to student needs. Despite the fact that psychologists claim stress could be caused by anything, many young people find the rapid pace of modern life to be a significant source of anxiety. In Massachusetts, we have several groups for substance use both such as AA meetings and , NA meetings that are held in most area areasjust not a sufficient amount. Some. So me groups are also held at treatment centers by alumni which is a great thing because it will provide members with great responsibility skills. Some of the groups like psychoeducation and 12 steps meetings are mainly for those who are going through andchallenges and have a past with substance use. I plan to hold a group not only for those who have been through it but also withhave family members that are looking for resources and better understanding of the disease. The need for substance use group in the Boston, MassMassachusetts community is in high demand. Although Boston is a wide community where the rent can be high and have good paying jobs, many still struggle s with the everyday life stressors that can lead to excessive drinking. The purpose of substance use group is to help individuals who are have dealing with anxiety and have an underlining issue like anxiety. Substance use clients with underlining issues like anxiety lack coping skills and the ability to perform everyday tasks. Introduction
Consumers of mental health services have sought to find their voice for a long while. As early as 1873, Mrs. E.P.W. (Elizabeth) Packard published her book entitled, Modern Persecution, or Insane Asylums Unveiled. Forcibly committed to a psychiatric institution by her husband, Mrs. Packard was an early advocate for establishing rights for patients with mental disorders, founding the Anti-Insane Asylum Society in Illinois (Chamberlin, 1990).
Other persons, however, were speaking out about the rights of patients with mental disorders, probably the most well-known of whom was Clifford Beers. As you may recall from Lesson 2, Beers founded the National Committee for Mental Hygiene, now called Mental Health America, in 1909. His important autobiography, A Mind That Found Itself, published in 1908 and still in print, chronicled his experiences with mental illness. He started the first outpatient mental health clinical in New Haven, Connecticut in 1913.
While these historical occurrences displayed an early preface to activism for persons who experienced mental illness, the modern consumer movement did not start until almost a century later.
Consumer/Survivor movement
The modern consumer/survivor movement is an outgrowth of the reorganization of the mental health system from the 1950’s through the 1970’s. This reorganization resulted from “deinstitutionalization, new psychotropic drug treatments, the widening legal conceptions of patients’ rights, and the intellectual critiques associate with the antipsychiatry movement” (Tomes, 2006, p. 722). The first consumer/survivor group was founded sometime during the late 60’s or early 70’s, and was called the Oregon Insane Liberation Front, taking its cue from other liberation movements that were prevalent during that time.
As we saw in Lesson 11, stigma has been a difficult problem for those with serious mental illness (SMI) to overcome. Green-Hennessy & Hennessy (2004) note that psychiatric symptoms are only some of the problems faced by persons with mental illness. Persons with mental illness also are feared and discriminated against by society, their rights are not valued and their opportunities limited, and “the mental health system . . . at times has undermined the very healing it attempts to promote” (Green-Hennessy & Hennessy (2004, p. 88). Alzheimer’s Research
Alzheimer’s disease being the kind of illness known for affecting brain and making it to have gradual corrosion generally to the persons of middle or old age as due to global relapse of the brain need to be treated or else it will negatively affect the economy of the county. There are current approaches that are used for the prevention and control of the disease.
Researchers and healthcare workers are using some of the factors to ensure that they deal with challenges encountered in the approaches used in the prevention and control of the disease. The current methods used are observation of certain diets, doing exercise and recreational activities among others. The adoption of some lessons or programs on the kind of food one should routinely take are used as approaches by researchers to overcome problems associated with prevention and control of the Alzheimer’s disease. There are some advices to be made both in all associations or gathering to pass the necessary information that all individuals to be encouraged to conduct regular exercise to avoid Alzheimer’s diseases.
There are some of the approaches that can be used to control and prevent the disease that can be explored further by researchers and healthcare workers. There are some of the pharmaceuticals products that are known for controlling and preventing the disease when take in the proper timing before its onset. Some of the intellectual activities can be used by mostly the elderly and the susceptible population to ensure that it will prevent the Alzheimer’s disease.
There is some of the relationship between the cardiovascular risks and the Alzheimer’s diseases. Researchers and healthcare workers believe that if there would be prevention for infection by the cardiovascular risks it would led to the prevention and control of Alzheimer’s diseases.
In conclusion, Alzheimer’s diseases are associated with most of the cardiovascular risk factors like diabetes, smoking and hypercholesterolemia among others. A lot has to be done to ensure that the Alzheimer’s diseases is prevented and controlled in the world.

Why did I create it (current)
The document describes a social care system created by the author that is based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory. The system was created by the author to build resilience during a period of personal trauma and suicidal thoughts. It is intended to be used as (1) a suicide prevention tool across an individual's lifespan, (2) an individual capacity building tool in the form of a care plan, and (3) a human resources tool to help retain Indigenous Australian employees. Nationwide law enforcement agencies face the problem
of doing more with less. Departments slash budgets
and implement furloughs, while management struggles
to meet the public safety needs of the community. The
Santa Cruz, California, Police Department handles the
same issues with increasing property crimes and
service calls and diminishing staff. Unable to hire more
officers, the department searched for a nontraditional
solution.
In late 2010 researchers published a paper that the
department believed might hold the answer. They
proposed that it was possible to predict certain crimes,
much like scientists forecast earthquake aftershocks.
An “aftercrime” often follows an initial crime. The time and location of previous criminal activity helps to
determine future offenses. These researchers developed an algorithm (mathematical procedure) that
calculates future crime locations.1
Equalizing Resources
The Santa Cruz Police Department has 94 sworn officers and serves a population of 60,000. A
university, amusement park, and beach push the seasonal population to 150,000. Department personnel
contacted a Santa Clara University professor to apply the algorithm, hoping that leveraging technology
would improve their efforts. The police chief indicated that the department could not hire more officers.
He felt that the program could allocate dwindling resources more efficiently.
Santa Cruz police envisioned deploying officers by shift to the most targeted locations in the city. The
predictive policing model helped to alert officers to targeted locations in real time, a significant
improvement over traditional tactics.
Making it Work
The algorithm is a culmination of anthropological and criminological behavior research. It uses complex
mathematics to estimate crime and predict future hot spots. Researchers based these studies on

In Massachusetts, we have several groups for substance use both such as AA meetings and , NA meetings that are held in most area areasjust not a sufficient amount. Some. So me groups are also held at treatment centers by alumni which is a great thing because it will provide members with great responsibility skills. Some of the groups like psychoeducation and 12 steps meetings are mainly for those who are going through andchallenges and have a past with substance use. The purpose of substance use group is to help individuals who are have dealing with anxiety and have an underlining issue like anxiety. Substance use clients with underlining issues like anxiety lack coping skills and the ability to perform everyday tasks. Evidence by, the lack of motivation, traumatic event, exposure to violence, withdrawal, and continuing alcohol or drug use. However, the misuse of alcohol not only can lead to neurological as well as anxiety. Introduction
Consumers of mental health services have sought to find their voice for a long while. As early as 1873, Mrs. E.P.W. (Elizabeth) Packard published her book entitled, Modern Persecution, or Insane Asylums Unveiled. Forcibly committed to a psychiatric institution by her husband, Mrs. Packard was an early advocate for establishing rights for patients with mental disorders, founding the Anti-Insane Asylum Society in Illinois (Chamberlin, 1990).
Other persons, however, were speaking out about the rights of patients with mental disorders, probably the most well-known of whom was Clifford Beers. As you may recall from Lesson 2, Beers founded the National Committee for Mental Hygiene, now called Mental Health America, in 1909. His important autobiography, A Mind That Found Itself, published in 1908 and still in print, chronicled his experiences with mental illness. He started the first outpatient mental health clinical in New Haven, Connecticut in 1913.
While these historical occurrences displayed an early preface to activism for persons who experienced mental illness, the modern consumer movement did not start until almost a century later.
Consumer/Survivor movement
The modern consumer/survivor movement is an outgrowth of the reorganization of the mental health system from the 1950’s through the 1970’s. This reorganization resulted from “deinstitutionalization, new psychotropic drug treatments, the widening legal conceptions of patients’ rights, and the intellectual critiques associate with the antipsychiatry movement” (Tomes, 2006, p. 722). The first consumer/survivor group was founded sometime during the late 60’s or early 70’s, and was called the Oregon Insane Liberation Front, taking its cue from other liberation movements that were prevalent during that time.
As we saw in Lesson 11, stigma has been a difficult problem for those with serious mental illness (SMI) to overcome. Green-Hennessy & Hennessy (2004) note that psychiatric symptoms are only some of the problems faced by persons with mental illness. Persons with mental illness also are feared and discriminated against by society, their rights are not valued and their opportunities limited, and “the mental health system . . . at times has undermined the very healing it attempts to promote” (Green-Hennessy & Hennessy (2004, p. 88). Alzheimer’s Research
Alzheimer’s disease being the kind of illness known for affecting brain and making it to have gradual corrosion generally to the persons of middle or old age as due to global relapse of the brain need to be treated or else it will negatively affect the economy of the county. There are current approaches that are used for the prevention and control of the disease.
Researchers and healthcare workers are using some of the factors to ensure that they deal with challenges encountered in the approaches used in the prevention and control of the disease. The current methods used are observation of certain diets, doing exercise and recreational activities among others. The adoption of some lessons or programs on the kind of food one should routinely take are used as approaches by researchers to overcome problems associated with prevention and control of the Alzheimer’s disease. There are some advices to be made both in all associations or gathering to pass the necessary information that all individuals to be encouraged to conduct regular exercise to avoid Alzheimer’s diseases.
There are some of the approaches that can be used to control and prevent the disease that can be explored further by researchers and healthcare workers. There are some of the pharmaceuticals products that are known for controlling and preventing the disease when take in the proper timing before its onset. Some of the intellectual activities can be used by mostly the elderly and the susceptible population to ensure that it will prevent the Alzheimer’s disease.
There is some of the relationship between the cardiovascular risks and the Alzheimer’s diseases. Researchers and healthcare workers believe that if there would be prevention for infection by the cardiovascular risks it would led to the prevention and control of Alzheimer’s diseases.
In conclusion, Alzheimer’s diseases are associated with most of the cardiovascular risk factors like diabetes, smoking and hypercholesterolemia among others. A lot has to be done to ensure that the Alzheimer’s diseases is prevented and controlled in the world.

Why did I create it (current)
The document describes a social care system created by the author that is based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory. The system was created by the author to build resilience during a period of personal trauma and suicidal thoughts. He reported that he has had that mole for several years, but thinks that it may have gotten larger over the past two years. Mr. B reported that he has noticed itchiness in the area of this mole over the past few weeks. He had multiple other moles on his back, arms, and legs, none of which looked suspicious. Upon further questioning, Mr. B reported that his aunt died in her late forties of skin cancer, but he knew no other details about her illness. The patient is a computer programmer who spends most of the work week indoors. On weekends, however, he typically goes for a 5-mile run and spends much of his afternoons gardening. He has a light complexion, blonde hair, and reports that he sunburns easily but uses protective sunscreen only sporadically.
Physical exam revealed: Head, neck, thorax, and abdominal exams were normal, with the exception of a hard, enlarged, non-tender mass felt in the left axillary region. In addition, a 1.6 x 2.8 cm mole was noted on the dorsal upper left arm. The lesion had an appearance suggestive of a melanoma. It was surgically excised with 3 mm margins using a local anesthetic and sent to the pathology laboratory for histologic analysis. The biopsy came back Stage II melanoma.

Nationwide law enforcement agencies face the problem
of doing more with less. Departments slash budgets
and implement furloughs, while management struggles
to meet the public safety needs of the community. The
Santa Cruz, California, Police Department handles the
same issues with increasing property crimes and
service calls and diminishing staff. Unable to hire more
officers, the department searched for a nontraditional
solution.
In late 2010 researchers published a paper that the
department believed might hold the answer. They
proposed that it was possible to predict certain crimes,
much like scientists forecast earthquake aftershocks.
An “aftercrime” often follows an initial crime. The time and location of previous criminal activity helps to
determine future offenses. These researchers developed an algorithm (mathematical procedure) that
calculates future crime locations.1
Equalizing Resources
The Santa Cruz Police Department has 94 sworn officers and serves a population of 60,000. A
university, amusement park, and beach push the seasonal population to 150,000. Department personnel
contacted a Santa Clara University professor to apply the algorithm, hoping that leveraging technology
would improve their efforts. The police chief indicated that the department could not hire more officers.
He felt that the program could allocate dwindling resources more efficiently.
Santa Cruz police envisioned deploying officers by shift to the most targeted locations in the city. The
predictive policing model helped to alert officers to targeted locations in real time, a significant
improvement over traditional tactics.
Making it Work
The algorithm is a culmination of anthropological and criminological behavior research. It uses complex
mathematics to estimate crime and predict future hot spots. Researchers based these studies on

Limited human and material resources often undermine such efforts. Zenith Hospital in a rural community has 200 beds. Postsurgical patients tend to contract infections at the surgical site, requiring extended hospitalization. Mr. Jones—75 years old—was admitted to Zenith Hospital for inguinal hernia repairs. He was also hypertensive, with a compromised immune system. Two days after surgery, he acquired an infection at the surgical site, with elevated temperature, and then he developed septicemia. His condition worsened, and he was moved to isolation in the intensive care unit (ICU). A mortgage-backed security, MBS, is a type of asset-backed security that pays investors regular payments, similar to a bond. It gets the title as a “pass-through” because the security involves several entities in the origination and securitization process (where the asset is identified, and where it is used as a base to create a new investment instrument people can profit off of).

MBS have been around for a long time. Officially in the US, they have their origins in government. During the Great Depression in the 1930s, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed into creation Fannie Mae that was brought about to help ease American citizen’s difficulty in becoming homeowners. The sole purpose of a GSE thus was to not make profit, but to promote citizen welfare in regards to housing. Seeing that it was created by regulatory government powers, it earned the title of Government Sponsored Entity, which we will abbreviate as GSE. 2 other GSE’s in housing were created in later decades like Freddie Mae, to further stimulate the mortgage market alongside Fannie, and Ginnie which did a similar thing but only for certain groups of people (Veterans, etc) and to a much smaller scale.

The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
