The management of the college has been committed to the cause of education to our nation &
youth for over ninety years of excellence and is the oldest cum greatest among the colleges in government sector in
Punjab (Pakistan). Our experience and excellence has been proven time and again through our student’s
achievements. Our aim is to create a community that is increasingly entrepreneurial and even more reliant on
technology according to the courses designed to give our students. The skills and knowledge they need to succeed
in today’s competitive environment. We provide a stimulating and supportive environment which focuses on the
power of the individual. We try to develop each student’s maximum potential by providing not only the latest
teaching methods and technology, but also individual guidance counseling and assistance by providing their
conducive academics environment with the well equipped labs, computers, well stocked libraries, conferences,
workshops, seminars, symposium and refresher cum training courses, we give our students the tools they need to
grow in to competent, skilled, highly qualified and dedicated faculty. We have followed our passion and focused our
dreams. Our story of growth, with God’s blessing has been phenomenal. This year we have expended our horizons
to 10 BS-FYDP as it was continuously being felt that the community of in and around Jhang City was facing acute
problems in these areas having deprived of the opportunities in the field of education.
Our vision for the future is defined by realism and a can-do spirit along with win-win strategy. Our
focus is steadfastly on raising the quality of education to bring it at par not only with the best in Pakistan but with
those who refer themselves as world class educational institutions. I assure you that your educational experience at

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
2. Co-curricular activities are an integral part of education-they develop a healthy sense of
competition and impart higher values. Apart from the traditional welcome and farewell functions. The Government
Postgraduate College also organizes co-curricular activities for the students for that purpose; different committees
are assigned the responsibilities of shaping out the personalities of the students. These committees under the flag
of Bazm-e-Hayat under the scholastics guidance of Professor Dr. Muhammad Attique Khan Shahid conduct
speeches, debates & declamation contests in Urdu, English and Punjabi. They also arrange annual study tours,
conferences, workshops, seminars, symposiums and celebrate Pakistan Day, Quaid-e-Azam Day, Allama Dr.
Muhammad Iqbal Day, Anti Dengue, Anti Terrorism, Anti Drug campaigns.
The organizing of student’s declamation contests and best contestants are awarded prizes, medals
and certificates of excellence.
SPORTS AND GAMES:-
Government Postgraduate College Jhang also provides ample sports and recreational facilities to
the students in diverse fields as Cricket, Foot Ball, Table Tennis, Kabbidi, Weight Lifting and Tug of War. The
college has produced some of the most outstanding sportsman and Athletes in the country who have represented
Pakistan abroad. In order to maintain the status and good repute; the administration has set up independent sport
board in the college under the patronage of Professor Dr. Muhammad Attique Khan Shahid.
COLLEGE MAGAZINE AND NEWSLETTER:-
The literary cum scientific magazine along with newsletter (complete package of current event) of
college reflects its teachers, students and the management intellectual thought provoking activities along with their
growing consciousness towards their changing milieu, these also refines their literary tastes, scientific and
technological vision and develop them in to ideal citizens who can utilize their knowledge with in the complex frame
work of everyday life. The Government Postgraduate College also publishes its magazine every year and
newsletter bi annually regularly. The editorial boards selected for that purpose are running all the matters smoothly
and efficiently.
The track record of previous two years under the guidance and scholastic supervision of Professor
Dr.Muhammad Attique Khan Shahid the renowned Professor, scholar and administrator has been impressive
students are encourage to express their views which not only built self confidence but also whet their appetite for
further learning, in addition to the regular faculty visits. He also arranged scholars of national and international
repute who reinforce the regular input of instruction with fresh inspiration from a different view point. An ideal
combination of skilled man power and conducive facilities coupled with friendly environment make Government
Postgraduate College Jhang different from rest of college in Punjab.
STUDENT COUNSELING AND CAREER ADVISORY SERVICES:-
Student life can be rewarding and stimulating but can also have its shares stress. Students who are
preoccupied with personal worries due to domestic issues and drug related activities may find it hard to concentrate
on their studies and may feel isolated and deserted. The counseling services provided by the career planning and
counseling centre cum drug free counseling centre working under the patronage of Professor Dr. Muhammad
Attique Khan Shahid as Director Offer support and constructive help when there are problems of above said nature.
The trained and experienced counseling staff selected for that purpose is always ready to help needy students.
3. Gaining a required qualification as pre-requisite at Government Postgraduate College Jhang open a range of career
options for the students on the basis of their psychological profile and hidden potential (hard and soft skills).
Those aiming to go abroad or in the well known establishments within our own country can seek
valuable information and guidance in the form of professional tricks and tips which help them in making the right
decision at the right time for the right profession. Those desirous of entering in the science and technology world on
behalf of their R & D contributions are also offered career counseling in the decision making process through the
office of ORIC, established for the same purpose.
CONGENIAL AND FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT:-
On behalf of the direction of the administration Government Postgraduate College Jhang offer
friendly and tension free environment for students. The tutors and proctors are always available to exchange views
and reviews through “one minute strategy” meeting this state of affairs enable students to enhance their capabilities
skills collaboration and coordination, the dire need of the 21st
century.
LIASON WITH PARENTS:-
In future student’s attendance will be monitored regularly each month data will be provided to the
controller office where it will be analyzed critically keeping in view the different academic, social and administrative
aspects parents will be informed about the current status of their wards and will be warned against irregular
attendance on misbehavior or misconduct. The data will also be utilized in arriving at academic and administrative
decisions. In this way it is hoped that it will become possible to have greater cooperation from the parents in
initiating remedial action regarding irregular and erratic students.
EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT:-
Student’s academic progress is evaluated through weekly tests, monthly tests and in house
examinations like December test; send up test as per directions of the competent authority. Their performance in
tests and examinations is evaluated, positions were declared and medals, prizes and merit certificates will be given
in prize distribution ceremony. The parents of weaker students are informed about the areas in which they need to
improve. Extra couching is also arranged to those students without any additional charges.
SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS:-
These seminars and workshops are aimed at personality development and presentation techniques
along with the current areas of specialization, the need of 21st
century. They also help to promote and inculcate the
spirit of dedicated professionalism which goes a long way towards enhancing the strength of the faculty eminent
scholars and experienced professor from well known institutions and organizations are invited to deliver thought
provoking lectures on selected topics which prove to be helpful in recognizing weaker areas for improvement. It is
encouraging that almost all the relevant faculty members enthusiastically participate in these seminars and
workshops. The management makes concerted efforts to assist the faculty, enabling them broaden their spectrum
of vision and reach new horizons in modern world of science and technology.
