I made this powerpoint to show why our school systems should have dress codes.

3. The Site’s Claim…
 On the Polk County website, they claim that the dress
codes are effective to their students because it cuts
down on gang behavior, lessens the differentiates
between wealthy and poorer students, and it also puts
more of the student’s focus on their academics, instead
of the fashion sense.
 The author does not stand to gain anything fro
publishing this site. Instead they want to maintain a
positive learning experience for their students.

4. Triangulating the Site’s Claims
 To support the view’s of the Polk County School Board, I
located another site, Northside ISD. Northside ISD
raised many of the same points that Polk County schools
found in their schools as well.

5. Northside ISD
The motivation of the

ISD’s school district is
to reinforce their
position that uniforms
may be beneficial in a
classroom environment.
They believe that
pushing their agenda of
school uniforms will aid
in academics by
decreasing distractions
as well as lessen gang
activity.

6. Conclusion
 My conclusion on the first website is that the policies
contained there in are theoretically sound, although
more practical research to support their positions would
be beneficial .

7. Future Research
 A good question that I would like to research would be if
grades are demonstrably higher in districts that have
uniforms compared to those that do not?
