1. What kind of media
institution might
distribute your media
product and why?
2. Publishers
For my music magazine I would like to use IPC
Media as the publisher. IPC Media is the UK’s
biggest and most well known digital and media
publisher, so by using such a well known and
reputable publisher my magazine would have a
more likely chance of being noticed and
recognised to be successful and be noticed by the
target audience.
IPC Media publishes well known magazines such
as Teen Now, NME, You, Look, Now and Marie
Claire – all of who aim their target audience at
either male or female similar to my
magazine, meaning IPC would be a suitable
publisher to take on my magazine.
3. Distributors
The distributors of my magazine would most
likely be chain supermarket stores or off
licences such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Spar etc.
Although my target audience may not visit
shops such as these often, they are around
locally everywhere and makes availability
and accessibility of my magazine excellent.
A new unique idea for my magazine
distributors would to sell it in shops such as
New Look and H&M, where my target
audience would tend to shop, and having it
sold in shops in city and town centres such as
the Bullring or Touchwood, again making it
accessible but also under the target
audience’s radar as they shop or browse in
the shops they like.
