We have represented the youngergeneration through the use of vox pops within our
documentaries, whereas the older generation has been advertised through the use of
authority figures within the interviews we conducted within the documentary.
Within research and planning, we looked into the usage of social media, and found
statistics that split the use of social media based on age demographics. We also conducted
research into the use of bullying in accordance tosocial media as cyber bullying is seen to
be more predominantly used within the millennial generation, specifically that of the age
range of 14 to 19 years of age.
We further looked into what kind of organisation would produce the documentary. These
included television channels such as the BBC and MTV, as we felt these our channels that
produce documentaries THAT MORE LIKELY THAT TACKLE OUR DOCUMENTARIES SUBJECT
MANOR. We decided on BBC three, as we believe that they have a documentary style that
tend to cover differing viewpoints, and are more likely to interview people on the streets
like we have done with our documentary.
We further looked into representation of oursubject matterthrough researching into
documentaries that delved into a similar subject matter. For example, within super-size
me images are placed onto the screen in accordance with the narration of the film. We
decided to use a similar technique, howeverwe decided to use the logos of social media
companies in order to reveal the title of the documentary.
