covid – 19.
In that infographic said that the
coronavirus not was a virus so
lethal as other virus and that its

The most useful way to spot fake
news is the number 1 “check the
source”, because if the people
search in what space is
uploaded, we can find the type of
website in where is published the
information. Although, is
necesary doubt also the mass
media traditionals.
Another useful way to spot fake news is check
the context of the information, because the
time, place or data that are around are very
important.
As example in 2016, in Colombia there was
fake news about the “plebiscito” for the peace
between the colombian state and guerrilla of the
FARC-EP; in this moment circulated news
without context.
I understand the term

verify the information
by way cross with
other sources of
information.

others prefer to find their own sources of information (radio,
internet ect…) while some others simply prefer to stay apart from
media or news” Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and
examples to support your answers”

WHICH DO YOU PREFER?
We can start, thinking if the mass media have a neutral speech, own reflective exercise is answer
about the question: Which mass media do I prefer? first, the language is not a neutral form of
communication, because it has interests and inclinations politics and economics.
If we think in this last argument, then we think in the mass media as a form of massive language that
relates to social groups, independently, of the nature of these groups. This idea I also must tell and
related to my argument, also, when I think and write I have a social and subjective inclination in the
language.
But, these ideas about the social inclination in the language, the subjective and the power in the
communication speech aren´t news, because writers like Schuliaquer (2014) tell that the idea of
neutral speech in the mass media is in crisis even from the half of the century 20, from works such as
the thinkers Habermas (1968) and Marcuse (1965).
The idea that speak the mass media are not neutrals become to be a “ideological sign”, in
words of Voloshinov (1973), because and althought that still some people think that the
mass media informed the events as are in reality.
In this direction, I try search in all mass media, because this, gives me a general
view about the news and its readings. After I search the sources of information, then
read newspaper like “El Espectador”, radio stations like “w radio” and other alternative
media a official and occidental mass media, than “RT”, “Telesur”. I never forget that these
last mass media, also had policy inclinations.
In the last years I had the custom to search youtube’s and search sources of
information that can supplement the information found. Some interesting
channels are “DW”, “BBC world” and “Diana Uribe FM”
CONCLUSION
The mass media research is a important exercise in the contemporany world, because
and althought the lies and fake news always existed, is necessary think the role that
the mass media has in own lifes. In addition, we must read about the publications that
reflect about the mass media and its relation with the subjectivity and comunication´s
form in the digital, global and paranoid world.
