2. MAIN PRODUCT AND
ANCILLARY PRODUCTS
I have decided to produce 2 short advertisements, probably around
30 seconds long each about a campaign that is centred around the
recycling of newspapers into bags. One will be an animated advert,
consisting of pictures, videos and text and the other will be a hand
filmed advert with people in it. My ancillary products will be a radio
advertisement discussing the campaign and the product and a
television sponsorship programme.
3. SUMMARY OF MAIN PRODUCT
My main product will be 2 30 second adverts about a campaign that is
centred around the recycling of newspapers into bags. The first will be an
advert consisting of pictures, videos and text and the other will start
possibly off with someone entering a shop and buying something and the
shop assistant puts it into a newspaper bag, leaving the customer to
wonder why. After that it may develop into the newspaper bag appearing
in several places amongst various people, to emphasise its popularity and
wide spread through other countries.
4. EXAMPLE OF EXISTING
PRODUCTS
I have looked at some advertising campaigns on recycling, focusing
on how they aim to capture peoples attentions, and the certain aspects
that they use. I have also tried to focus on newspaper related adverts.
Below is a link to an advertising campaign focusing on recycling.

Expectations of an advert
Writing – headings, titles
Logos
Persuasive language used to engage the reader
The product itself and someone trying to sell it
Music – songs, useful sounds
Recyclable product
Bright/colourful – able to catch someone's attention immediately
6. CHARACTE RISTICS OF TARGE T
AUDIE NCE
My target audience for this product will most probably be
environmentalists and people in general who are interested in
preserving recyclable materials and care about the environment. My
target audience can also be everyone of any ages.
8. SOUND SAMPLE
I may use a song that is well known by a well known artist. I
have considered for this using ellie gouldings song, ‘anything
could happen’ because its popular and upbeat.

9. PRACTICAL CHALLENGES
Location recce – finding the perfect location may be difficult because I want the
advert to make sense and I need to feel like I have picked the right spot before I
start shooting.
Time – I only have a certain amount of time to have a final decision on
everything.
Weather – the weather for this advertisement has to be sunny, because rain will
postpone the filming.
Finding someone to appear in the project
Planning the shots and making sure everything's in the right order
10. TARGET DATE/ACTION PLAN
My presentation of the idea that I have come up with has to be
finished by the 5th/6th of November at the latest.
I also need to hand in a rough copy of the material that I have by
the 16th of December.
11. I WOULD BE SATISFIED IF…
I get a higher grade than what I got last year.
made an advert that looks professional and that people would want
to watch more than once and spread around.
