1. What have you learned from your
audience feedback?

2. Question 1: Did you enjoy 'Sliding Doors'?
99% of audience members surveyed said that they did enjoyed the documentary. This is a
very good response as it shows how our product was successful in attractive the audiences
attention. The fact that we received a positive feedback for our documentary shows us that it
met its main intention which was to entertain and also the inform the audience.
Question 2: What was the strongest aspect?
Responses to this question indicates that the cutaways were what the audience liked the
most about the documentary, they liked how they were able to actually see Mr Islams daily
life and what he does outside of school. As Mr Islam used a GroPro, he was able to capture
his jujitsu training, family time, gym etc. However we did go ahead and film more cutaways
of when he was teaching praying, working, this allowed the audience to visualise his daily
life.
3. Question 3: what was the weakest aspect?
Most of the audience members felt that the background music was the weakest area of
the documentary. They said how if we had used a upbeat music then the documentary
would have been more fun to watch, however we had chosen a calm slow music to suit the
content of the documentary.
Question 4: What was there not enough of?
As our documentary was only approximately 5 minutes long, it was important for us to
include all the key points as there was a chance of some areas where they could be
neglected. Most of the audience thought that there should have been more graphics and
interview.
4. Question 5: Would you watch the rest of the documentary?
Our final documentary is only the introductory section (part 1) of the documentary, and so it
was important that we made sure that it was interesting for them so they would want to
carry on watching the rest. As 100% of audience members said that they would watch the
rest of the documentary, we can see how the overall product was successful.
Question 6: Do you feel more informed about a teachers life?
Usually a documentary's purpose would be to inform, 100% of audience members
surveyed said how they were informed and they really understood a teachers daily life and
how they manage everything outside of school. This shows how the audience were able to
follow the narrative and understand the purpose of the documentary.
5. Question 7: How would you describe the documentary?
We received many positive responses, as most called our documentary as interesting,
excellent, or good. This shows us how our product successful and we met our aim which
was to inform/educate and entertain our audience.
Conclusion:
After looking back at the feedback of our audience, we came to a conclusion that the
documentary was a success. All the surveyed audiences members that gave responses
were mostly positive as did the viewers on YouTube which had 879 views, this shows us
how many people found our documentary interesting.
