Place events of the story in chronological sequence.
The narrator expresses with tranquility how he killed
the old man.
He decides to take the life of the old man, thus get
rid of the vulture eye.
He went to the old man’s chamber, looking for the
vulture eye every night at 12:00 mid night. For seven
nights.
For seven nights.
On the eight night , he entered the old man’s room,
made a noise and the old man woke up.
He waited an hour for the old man to fall back
asleep.

2. He proceeded to light the lantern and he found the
vulture eye.
This infuriated him, He jumped o n to the old man
threw him on the floor and threw the bed on top
and suffocated him.
He dismembered the body in the tub and placed the
corpse under the floor.
A neighbor heard a noise and called the police, three
policemen arrived and inspected the house. Finding
nothing they sat and chatted.
The mad man began to listen to a heart beat louder,
louder, louder until he confessed the crime and
showed were he placed the body.
