3. Definition:-Wireless is a term
used to describe
telecommunications in which
electromagnetic waves (rather
than some form of wire) carry
the signal over part or all of the
communication path. Some
monitoring devices, such as
intrusion alarms, employ
acoustic waves at frequencies
above the range of human
hearing; these are also
sometimes classified as
wireless.
5. Applications:-
• NETWORK ARCHITECTURE
FLEXIBILITY
• The nature of wireless applications
generally leads to a star configuration:
an access point
• communicating with one (point-to-
point) or more (point-to-multipoint)
remote devices and
• connected to a wired network.
6. Advantages_;
• Anywhere, Anytime Work
• Enhanced Productivity
• Remote Area Connectivity
• On-Demand Entertainment
Bonanza
7. Major disadvantages of wireless
technology
• Wireless is a public frequency network
therefore its interface is highly risky to be
used for official private information. The
speed and the viability of the wireless
signals drop as more and more users use
the same frequency
• Unauthorized Access to Wireless
Networks
8. Wireless Network System Components
A wireless network consists of several components that support communications using
radio or light waves propagating through an air medium. Some of these elements overlap
with those of wired networks, but special consideration is necessary for all of these
components when deploying a wireless network. Figure 2-1 illustrates these primary

9. Conclusion
Discussion and Conclusion
Mobile technology, mobile Internet access, and m-commerce
are growing rapidly on the global stage; however, growth
rates vary widely across economic regions. The penetration
rate of mobile phones, the optimum combination of different
generations of telecommunications, and the combination of
different technical formats vary according to a wide array of
economic, sociocultural, and policy-related factors.
10. Conclusion Cont…..
The ways in which companies integrate m-
commerce applications into their business
models depend upon numerous environmental
factors, particularly the combination of
communications technologies previously
adopted and the mobile technologies currently
diffusing in their domestic economies. Given the
scope for technological leapfrogging and
alternative national mixes of fixed lines and
wireless infrastructures, global heterogeneity in
national patterns of m-commerce development—
and hence, of business models in m-commerce
—appears to be a likely prospect for the
foreseeable near future.
