It plans to be a 75,000 MW company by 2017. </li></ul><ul><li>NTPC Badarpur station has also bagged ISO 9001/ ISO 14001 certification. </li></ul><ul><li>Today NTPC contributes more than 3 / 5th of the total power generation in India </li></ul>

NTPC Badarpur <ul><li>BTPS was conceived in 1965 to meet the growing electricity demand of Northern Region. </li></ul><ul><li>The site construction activities started in 1968. </li></ul><ul><li>The plant became operational with the commissioning of its first unit on 26th July 1973, 2nd unit in ;74 , 3rd unit in ’75 , 4th unit in ’78 & 5th unit in ’81. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Basic Principle There are basically three main units of a thermal power plant: 1. Steam Generator or Boiler 2. Steam Turbine 3. Electric Generator

  10. 10. C&I LABS Control and Instrumentation Department has following labs:   1. Manometry Lab 2. Protection and Interlocks Lab 3. Automation Lab 4. Electronics Lab 5. Water Treatment Plant 6. Furnaces Safety Supervisory System Lab

Six employees have been given the same award for 1998. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>6 BTPS employees were awarded under Delhi Shramik Sujhao Yojna Puraskar’97 . </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Another 8 employees have been awarded under Delhi Shramik Sujhao Yojna Puraskar’98 at Vigyan Bhawan on 20th Aug’02 by Chief Minister of Delhi. </li></ul></ul>
