Paloma Picasso is a French and Spanish fashion designer and businesswoman best known for her jewelry designs for Tiffany & Co. and signature perfumes. She began her career in 1968 as a costume designer in Paris and went on to design accessories for Yves Saint Laurent and the jewelry company Zolotas. In 1980, she began designing jewelry for Tiffany and launched her own brand, creating many perfumes and accessories including her namesake perfume. She currently resides in Switzerland where she founded the Paloma Picasso Foundation to promote the works of her parents.

2.  Paloma Picasso was born in Vallauris on 19 April 1949. She is
a French and Spanish fashion designer and businesswoman, best known
for her jewelry designs for Tiffany & Co. and her signature perfumes. She
is the youngest daughter of 20th-century artist Pablo Picasso.
Paloma Picasso is represented in many of her father's works, such
as Paloma with an Orange and Paloma in Blue.

3. Early Career
 Paloma's career began in 1968, when she was a costume designer
in her native Paris. Some rhinestone necklaces she had created
from flea market finds caused acclaim among critics, and she
quickly enrolled in a jewelry course. Soon, Yves Saint Laurent
asked her to design accessories to accompany one of his
collections, and by 1971 she was working for the Greek jewelry
company Zolotas.

4. Business Launch
 In 1980, she began designing jewelry for Tiffany and Co., debuting
with signature Xs and scribbles in gold and sterling silver. Soon
after, she launched her own brand, Paloma Picasso, and created
many perfumes and designer fashion accessories, including an
eponymous scent and Mon Rouge, a dramatic scarlet lipstick that
became her trademark.

5.  In early 2001, Paloma Picasso moved to Lake Geneva in Switzerland.
There, she founded the Lausanne-based Paloma Picasso
Foundation, which aims to promote the works of her parents,
particularly those of her mother whose artistic endeavors are little
known in Europe.

6. Personal life
 1978 Picasso married playwright and director Rafael Lopez-Cambil.
The couple later divorced and in 1999 Picasso married Dr. Eric
Thévenet. Thévenet's interest in art and design has provided
valuable insight toward the creation of Picasso's jewelry collections.
