American Nurses Association ( ANA ) Standards Of...
American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Professional Performance explains how all
registered nurses do their work and activities consistently according to their professions that
promote the wellbeing of their patients and communities (ANA, 2010a). The standards provide a
mechanism to patients that they are been taken good care of and that the nurses know exactly what
to do so as to provide high–quality care and the measures are in place to determine whether nursing
care meets the standards. These activities are related to performance like ethics, quality of practice,
education, communication, resources, leadership, environmental health, professional practice
evaluation, and evidence–based practice and research. Registered nurses are responsible for their
professional actions to themselves, their patients, their peers, and the community at large.
Collaboration
This is the way nurses come together with healthcare consumer, family, and others in the conduct of
nursing practices. Collaboration is professional healthcare partnership grounded in a reciprocal and
respectful recognition and acceptance of: each partner's unique expertise, power, and sphere of
influence and responsibilities; the commonality of goals; the mutual safeguarding of the legitimate
interest of each party; and the advantages of such a relationship. (Spring, 2010). Nursing students
should be ready to collaborate with their patients and their families at times in every situation in
order to come out with a positive outcome while helping the patients. This is attained by sharing the
knowledge we have learned in class combined with what the patient says (subjectives) orthe
situation you are. When nurses collaborate together and understand one another it will be easier for
them to take care of the patients and they will manage to offer a high quality care possible.
Nursing students should know that collaboration is like a journey ( Gardner, 2005). And, they should
start building trust opportunities by communicating. During clinicals, nursing students can even
make time for face–to–face conversation with other registered nurses or even physicians so as to
clarify expectations or request a plan, this will create the confidence in them. Even

Professional Identity In Australia
Professional identity is established through an individual's personal and professional life. It
encompasses personal values, attitudes, morals and beliefs, while taking into account the
professional ethics and legal regulations that surrounds their chosen profession. It can therefore be
further elaborated by defining an individual's specific chosen profession. Within the health care
sector a professionals role is to promote, restore and maintain health whilst ensuring the greatest
quality of care is given to all individuals when they seek it (World Health Organisation, 2014).
Therefore it is understood that professional identity within the health care community embodies
personal and professional attributes as well as collaborative relationships ... Show more content on

The code focuses on four key areas: To show accountability for all decisions, to provide a nonbiased
approach, to ensure privacy is acknowledged and to provide evidence–based practise (Dietitians
Association of Australia, 2014). These codes guide professional practise by enforcing a consistent,
universal and high standard approach through the way one may operate on a daily basis. Both codes
can therefore embody professional identity by clearly creating an image, both from a professional
and a public view, to ensure that a practising dietitian is aware of what is expected of them

Professional Association Research Paper
Professional and Community Service Organizations Belonging to a professional association can
have many benefits, depending on the organization and knowledge one wishes to possess or access.
Professional organizations commonly promote continuing education in the form of workshops,
conferences, webinars, etc. They also allow for the ability to network with other professionals and
make valuable connections that might otherwise not be readily available. Some professional
establishments offer qualified or specialized services to members that would be difficult to obtain
elsewhere. These types of services are important in order to stay relevant to changing trends and
new innovations that inevitably occur in any industry.

clubs meet weekly, usually once a week on a weekday, to eat either breakfast, lunch, or dinner

projects with other clubs in the area. Sometimes a Rotary Club will be able to enter into a venture
with a sister club in another nation to work on special projects, such as international exchange
student programs. Although membership dues will vary somewhat depending on an area, clubs are

Ethical Boundaries In Counseling: A Case Study
Counseling within a professional field requires that individuals obtain and maintain licenses that
assure compliance to legal and ethical principles and standards. The provision of licensing in the
state of Arizona is governed by the Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Examiners and
follows a code of ethics and legal statutes. Codes of ethics from professional associations are
included in state regulations governing the practice of counseling and psychotherapy and ignorance
of these codes and regulations does not excuse problematic behavior (Welfel, 2015). These ethical
standards provide a framework in which a healthcare provider may work to best serve a client while
protecting all parties involved to the best of their ability. As such ... Show more content on

The optimal therapeutic alliance is achieved when both the counselor and the client come to the
shared beliefs with regard to the goals of treatment and view the methods as effective and relevant
(Ardito & Rabellino, 2011). Within this definition the relationship becomes a bond in which the
client shares belief systems surrounding treatment goals and outcomes, rather than the concentration
on conventional relationship ideology. Similar to the discussion of transference and
countertransference, boundaries are established to protect the client and the counselor both inside
therapeutic settings and outside of the treatment realm. In examples of clients and counselors that
are involved in outside support groups, confidentiality is respected to protect the therapeutic
process. In other circumstances, the counselor adheres to ethical codes and standards where by
protecting the relationship by conducting meetings in a professional manner and maintaining
personal information about the client as agreed upon in client consent. There is an ethical obligation
to care for all patients with beneficence, non–maleficence, and confidentiality and as such develop a
privileged and trusted relationship by addressing the patients' needs instead of our own (Aravind,
Krishnaram & Thasneem, 2012). Falling short of protecting this relationship can deeply impact the
client, potentially harming the client and severally damaging the faith in any therapeutic process and
ultimately creating more pain than original circumstances had

Zachary Crockett published the article "The Rise and Fall of Professional Bowling" in March of
2014 in order to inform readers about the history of professional bowling. Currently, the
Professional Bowlers Association, or PBA, is facing an extreme decline in popularity mainly due to
low funds. Even though there are many people who love the sport of bowling and support the
professionals, the sport as a whole is on a decline. In the article, Crockett basically talks about the
entire history of bowling. In the second half of the article though, he heavily analyzes the fall of

New Zealand: Electric Technology's Professional Bodies [Student's Name] [Institution Title]
Introduction Professional bodies are also known as professional associations, professional
organization or professional society. These are duly recognized institutions whose aim is to further
and promote a given profession to serve the best interest of its members and the general public
(Harvey, 2014). According to the book entitled Role of Professional Bodies in Higher Education
Quality Monitoring, a professional body has three significant roles to play (Harvey, Mason, & Ward,
1995). First, a professional body has the role to protect the best interest of the general public;
second, it also stands to act as a representative of a given profession to stand in behalf of its
practitioners that would pursue their goal towards professional development; and finally, a
professional body acts to protect the self–interest of the organization in aid of securing its personal
privileges and power to control the profession for which it stands to represent (Harvey, Mason, &
Ward, 1995). An online source offers a similar identification of the functions of a professional body.
However, in this source the professional body performs more than three functions. Aside from the
previously identified roles of the professional body, it also serves as regulating body that sets the
standards for a given profession (Total Professions Contributors, 2015). Furthermore, it also issues a

Essay about Professionalism
Professionalism
The Merriam–Webster Online Dictionary defines professionalism as the conduct, aims, or qualities
that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. Yet the White Paper on Pharmacy
Student Professionalism says it is displaying values, beliefs and attitudes that put the needs of
another about your personal needs. There is still another definition. The Medical Professionalism
Project says professionalism is the basis of medicine's contract with society. It demands placing the
interests of patients above those of the physician, setting and maintaining standards of competence
and integrity, and providing expert advice to society on matters of health. In my opinion, a person's
attitude, values, and behaviors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To help keep prestige in the pharmacy profession, family physicians should no longer prescribe
medications and should only write the ailment on the prescription. This would allow pharmacists,
who are the drug experts, to prescribe the drugs. This only makes sense to let doctors figure out
what is wrong and the pharmacist to make the correct decision on the prescription. Half the time the
pharmacist has to call the doctor anyways because they prescribed the wrong medicine or the wrong
dosage. The other allegation of pharmacists tricking patients into declining their counseling is
hilarious in my opinion. This scenario is like any other prejudice view, a couple of bad pharmacists
make the entire profession look bad. Although I have never worked in a pharmacy, I would rather
believe that a pharmacist would not do that to a patient. I have more faith in the profession. If,
however, this is a common practice, there is not really much anyone can do about it. The only thing
you can do is be the best pharmacist you can be, and if you do the right thing people will follow you
and do the right thing. Being a professional does not automatically gain a person prestige. Prestige is
earned by the amount of time and effort it took to get to where you are at. The knowledge needed to
keep drugs from interacting and making sure people are safe should be how prestige of pharmacists
is scored, not by how

At the Northern Trust Open about a month ago, over 90% of the field tried to hit the green in one
shot on a 320–yard par 4. In the past equipment has not allowed golfers the ability hit shots the way
they are able to today. Irons have revolutionized to help players improve. Today, the equipment have
grooves on them to enable to the ball to spin differently at contact. This now allows the players to
fly the ball farther as well as spin a ball back when it makes contact with the green. The more
control a golfer has over the ball the better they will be able to play. Putters have changed the game
with the popular new item being fatter grips. Fatter grips can help the players have a firm grip
allowing them to make more putts. In the past couple years, the big controversy was to allow the
belly putter. This is a putter where the shaft leads all the way up to the golfer's stomach. This allows
them to keep the club align with their body. The PGA ruled them illegal just last year. This was a
very important decision because players had to switch over from using those types of putters to the
normal putter with the grip in both hands. Top golfers such as Adam Scott had to make that switch.

Professionalism And Health Care Practitioners
Professionalism in Dentistry
"Profession" sometimes is seen as a similar thing to the "occupation". However, these two terms
have different definitions that are not interchangeable with one another. "Professionalism" in
Grasekemper's study (2011) defined as:
"[a] collective of expert service providers who jointly and publicly committed to always give
priority to the existential needs and interests of the public they serve above their own and who, in
turn, are trusted by the public to do so"
Generally, health care practitioners are considered professionals, and dentists, as one branch of
health professionals, need to meet the expectations as professionals. This review introduces what
professionalism is and aims for the future professionals and professionals who are looking for

various fields: societal, political, and environmentally. From these aspects, professionals have to be
altruistic and seeking their benefit only, but community's benefit to be the most. From the societal
aspect, professionals need to push the community to the direction where the most benefit of the
community can be achieved. Politically, professionals need to show their altruistic behaviour for the

The Transformation Of The Practice Of Hr
Human Resources has evolved from an area that would support the organizational needs to handle
the paper work of its employees into a robust department that plays a vital role in an organization's
growth. The transformation of the practice of HR has been phenomenal, from an order taker and
support for all the employees to a department that plays a key role in driving organizational
strategies with the invent of best places to work, creation of a family first environment and other

The role of human resources is a vital source of success for business. In early days when there was
no HR department, employees did not know how to act when difficult times strikes or how to solve
critical/ethical issues. After World War II, many soldiers were returning home; employers needed

Life Essay : What Is The Meaning Of Life
What is the meaning of life? For some people, it is to live for another person. For others, it is to live
for themselves. Personally, I believe that people live to achieve goals that they have set in their
lifetime, either if it is short or long term. I joined a gymnastics class when I was eight years old, and
enjoyed being there for almost a year. At the beginning, I was in the third grade and to me, every
subject was a piece of cake and there were no heaps of homework given from school, so I had an
abundance of free time on my hands. Then I transitioned into fourth grade, and I suddenly had a pile
of homework everyday that I couldn't do, because I had gymnastics class everyday for two hours.
During fourth grade, I had a sudden passion to become a doctor in the future, and with my grades
that are considered almost failing, my parents would lecture me about how my grades will not allow
me to become a doctor. Because of that, I had to choose to either stay in gymnastics, or to spend
more time on school work to improve my grades. When reaching their dreams, people must sacrifice
factors that distract them from achieving their goal and by doing so, they become more determined
to reach their dreams as shown in the play, A Raisin in the Sun, and by the professional tennis
player, Roger Federer.

Celebrity Puppets
The concept of using sports stars to market non–sport items has soared to new heights. Every
corporation in the world is trying to get the edge over their competitors. The classic example is that

Pepsi emerged victorious by using Madonna and Michael Jackson as puppets in their commercials.
These two companies, as well as thousands of others, have taken advantage of exposing celebrities

companies are controlling said celebrities. In the case of Mr. Owens, by dangling him in front of the
public eye, the company holds him by the strings to make him do as they wish through a pay–off.
The last decade has seen the emergence of a new breed of celebrities onto the marketing scene.
These celebrities are not involved in sports that society easily recognizes. Instead, they are the
bowlers of the PBA Tour and the drivers of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. As late as the early
1990s bowling tournaments were named after their specific location and bowlers were viewed as
just that, bowlers. Advancements in bowling ball technology created a more competitive field of
bowlers and a new and younger generation of marketers has realized that these bowlers are a great
source of advertising for their products. As a result, today's PBA bowlers wear patches with their
sponsors on them. Some have even gone as far as placing their major sponsors' logo on their spare
balls. These sponsors include Odor Eaters, Pepsi, Miller High Life, Holiday Inn, and Baby Ruth, to
name a few.
NASCAR, the nation's fastest growing sport, has received sponsor money since its creation.

Professional Demeanor As A Nurse Association
According to the National Student Nurse Association (NSNA), "nursing is identified as a profession
because it requires both extensive education in science and specialized training but simply working
in an identified profession does not automatically make one a professional." The NSNA describes
professionalism as a great deal more than just a degree or credentials, but as entailing a certain work
ethic, attitude, code of conduct, appearance and communication style. It is very crucial to maintain a
professional demeanor as a nurse not only for the profession perspective in itself, but to instill faith
in your health care team, patients and their families (NSNA). So what is the benefit of adopting a
professional demeanor when working as a nurse? How you act in any situation speaks volumes
about your character and can convey confidence with your patients, or completely shatter their faith
in you (Gill, 2014). This is where communication and clinical ethics will really come into play
throughout your career. The use of autonomy, beneficence, non–maleficence, justice and nursing
code of conduct will be pivotal throughout your mind your entire career! Also, staying calm and
your reactions will not only help build faith in your patients, but build faith in yourself to endure and
survive stressful situations throughout your life. Another part of a professional demeanor that is
often forgotten about is body language, since it is not verbal. Rolling your eyes, making facial

Florida Bar Association Rules of Professional Conduct
Rules of Professional Conduct (Chapter 4, Rules Regulating The Florida Bar) On This Page I. Issue
II. Bar Position III. Background IV. Facts and Statistics [pic] I. Issue On January 1, 1987, the Code
of Professional Responsibility ceased to govern lawyers in Florida. The Code was replaced by the
Rules of Professional Conduct, which is Chapter 4 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. The
new Florida rules, patterned after the American Bar Association (ABA) Model Rules of Professional
Conduct but stricter in many instances, provide updated ethical standards for attorney behavior and
the structure for regulating conduct. Attorneys who violate the rules are subject to disciplinary

The Florida Bar appointed a special study committee of lawyers and law professors from throughout
the state to study the proposed rules and make recommendations regarding their adoption in Florida.
After thorough review, debate and public hearings, the committee recommended that the rules be
adopted with some modifications. The Florida Bar's Board of Governors concurred, and after
lengthy consideration, the Florida Supreme Court entered its order adopting the rules, effective
12:01 a.m. on January 1, 1987, in place of the Code of Professional Responsibility. B. Format The
Code of Professional Responsibility was in a three–part format: the nine Canons, the Ethical
Considerations and the Disciplinary rules. The purpose was to state the general maxims in the
Canons, and aspirational objectives in the EC's, and the enforceable standards in the DR's. The
Kutak Commission found that the Code of Professional Responsibility, including the varying
standards found in the Canons, EC's and the DR's, were cumbersome and difficult to apply in the
practical resolution of ethical dilemmas arising in the everyday practice of law. With the increasing
size of the Bar and the need to provide more effective ethical standards for lawyers, the Kutak
Commission believed that the restatement format would make the rules a more useful tool in the
practice of law and in disciplinary procedures. The rules also provide substantive

The Is Not Healthcare Vending Machines
The technology promises seemingly limitless possibilities. Robots are already living among us,
controlling your refrigerator, your smart phone, your personal computer and even your car. Some
technology advancements sound far–fetched to contemporary ears, and many people hesitate at the
prospect of adopting them. Nonetheless should we embrace a cyborg future in which tasks great and
small are carried out by robots? As robots are becoming increasingly common in human
environments, people will be presented with more opportunities in addition existing jobs in
healthcare may be replaced by software, humanoid robots and smart machines by the year 2025.
And there are two WORDS with various opinions on this prospect. "Doctors are not healthcare
vending machines, but professionals who understand the difference between negative rights, such as
the right to refuse treatment". (Cheshire, JR., MD). Physicians, nurses and other healthcare workers
are professionals. A healthcare professional, by contrast, undergoes many years of demanding
training and sacrifice, develops a practice, and pursues a vocation for the purpose of serving others.
Professionals declare that they are competent and willing to care for the sick, and they commit to
healing as their way of life. Smart machines and robots are service providers. Professionals are not
the same as service providers. Moreover to knowledge, professionalism consists of technical skills
as well. A case in point includes the exquisite

Ascend: The National Association Of Asian American...
The purpose of accounting is to record the financial information, such as transactions and
performance, related to a business. The accounting profession has been in existence for as long as
business transactions have occurred. It wasn't until 1494, however, when Luca Pacioli, a Venetian
merchant, wrote Summa de Arithmetica, Geometrio, Proportioni et Proportionalita. His writings
described a two–entry system of debits and credits, which became the basis for modern accounting
systems. Three centuries later, with the emergence of the Industrial Revolution and the development
of corporations, the profession of being an accountant became a necessity to keep track of the rising
costs and cash flows. As a result, the American Association of Public ... Show more content on

Therefore, in 1982, the National Association of Asian American Professionals was founded in New
York City. As time passed on, many other similar associations were formed around the country to
represent each ethnicity that comprised Asian Pacific Americans, such as the National Council of
Philippine American Canadian Accountants (1984) and the Chinese American Society of CPAs
(1985). In 2005, Ascend was organized to be the largest Pan–Asian organization in North America
to promote leadership and global business potential within the Pan–Asian population. Ascend works
to represent the 32 ethnic groups that make up Asia, as well as provide them with the opportunities
and connections to help them climb the corporate ladder. They work to confront the discrimination
and bias that Pan–Asians face within the corporate community. Jane Hyun, author of Breaking the
Bamboo Ceiling and founder/president of Hyun & Associates, describes the "Bamboo Ceiling" that
Pan–Asians face in the American corporate world as one based in severe cultural differences. She
claims that the way Asia and America handles those who defy authority or step out of line
(regarding being assertive and direct when wanting promotions or leadership roles) are total
opposites. Hyun states that in Asia, "the loudest duck gets shot", while in America, "the squeaky
wheel gets the grease" (Hewlett). Pan–Asians are therefore left feeling stagnant in their career, never
speaking up and demanding what they want, even when they rightfully deserve it. The Ascend
initiative, along with all other related societies, work towards not only developing these
characteristics within their Pan–Asian professionals, but also in widening the perspective of senior
management teams and diversity councils, in relation to having multicultural teams. Ascend now

a variety of illegal activities but their most profitable venture is human trafficking. R. 2. Gangs in
the area are estimated to control up to 1,500 conscripted sex workers, many of which are likely

who had over step many boundaries. Holland had conducted interviews and many colleagues of the

actions may have been innocent her morals and beliefs overtook her professional identity when
consulting and supporting the family and friends of the patient, she disagreed with the doctor in

The Soccer Club : A Professional Italian Association...
Torino Football Club is a professional Italian association football club based in Turin. Founded in
1906, the club is among the most successful teams in Italy. In the 1940s the Grande Torino, one of
the strongest teams of that era, won five consecutive league titles. This successful era in the club's
history ended abruptly on May 4th, 1949, when a plane carrying the whole team crashed near Turin,
killing the whole team on board, including players, coaching staff and two executives. The plane
crash of 1949 not only buried one of the strongest teams of that time in Europe, but also has left a
seemingly unhealed stigma on the entire organization and its supporters. The crash changed a
powerful winning machine into a weak team hovering between the elite and the second tier of Italian
football.
Discussion
Organizational culture is a crucial element of every organization; hence it comes as no surprise that
it has received much scholarly attention. While it is impossible to summarize all research on
organizational culture in a single piece, a number of fundamental studies must be noted. Ouchi
(1980; 1982) compared organizations to clans having a strong culture to help them with goal
incongruence and performance ambiguity. Barney (1986) proposed that organizational culture might
be a source of sustained competitive advantage. Schein (1992; 2004) identifies three levels of
culture: (1) artifacts; (2) espoused values; and (3) basic underlying assumptions. Artifacts include

The 's General Perception Of The Absence Of A Professional...
Another main issue that draws translation back from the label of status is the society´s general
perception of the absence of a professional image. As pointed out by Darwish (2010: 46),
"professions have become a fundamental element of modern civilization and professionals possess
specialist knowledge and skills that modern society has come to rely on in its daily functioning". In
other words, a professional is called as such because he/she possesses special skills and knowledge
in an academic subject. Moreover, as stated by Cheetham and Chivers (2005: 4), "certain crafts
depend heavily on theoretical knowledge and certain established professions have little or no
theoretical base". If we take a close look about the statement made by Cheetham and Chivers and
apply it into translation, we can realize that translation throughout history was a craft that was
carried out mostly without much theoretical basis. The reason for this is because people from the
past were more concerned with communication and transfer of technology and knowledge. So, study
about the very same craft of translating was almost inexistent since the interest was channeled into
other more "relevant" fields. As a consequence of this, translation was put aside for the most part of
history until it deservedly became an academic discipline with an increasing volume of literature
being contributed into the field we call translation studies. But, it does not seem that people outside
of the field know about

  • 1. American Nurses Association ( ANA ) Standards Of... American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Professional Performance explains how all registered nurses do their work and activities consistently according to their professions that promote the wellbeing of their patients and communities (ANA, 2010a). The standards provide a mechanism to patients that they are been taken good care of and that the nurses know exactly what to do so as to provide high–quality care and the measures are in place to determine whether nursing care meets the standards. These activities are related to performance like ethics, quality of practice, education, communication, resources, leadership, environmental health, professional practice evaluation, and evidence–based practice and research. Registered nurses are responsible for their professional actions to themselves, their patients, their peers, and the community at large. Collaboration This is the way nurses come together with healthcare consumer, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practices. Collaboration is professional healthcare partnership grounded in a reciprocal and respectful recognition and acceptance of: each partner's unique expertise, power, and sphere of influence and responsibilities; the commonality of goals; the mutual safeguarding of the legitimate interest of each party; and the advantages of such a relationship. (Spring, 2010). Nursing students should be ready to collaborate with their patients and their families at times in every situation in order to come out with a positive outcome while helping the patients. This is attained by sharing the knowledge we have learned in class combined with what the patient says (subjectives) orthe situation you are. When nurses collaborate together and understand one another it will be easier for them to take care of the patients and they will manage to offer a high quality care possible. Nursing students should know that collaboration is like a journey ( Gardner, 2005). And, they should start building trust opportunities by communicating. During clinicals, nursing students can even make time for face–to–face conversation with other registered nurses or even physicians so as to clarify expectations or request a plan, this will create the confidence in them. It encompasses personal values, attitudes, morals and beliefs, while taking into account the professional ethics and legal regulations that surrounds their chosen profession. It can therefore be further elaborated by defining an individual's specific chosen profession. Within the health care sector a professionals role is to promote, restore and maintain health whilst ensuring the greatest quality of care is given to all individuals when they seek it (World Health Organisation, 2014). Therefore it is understood that professional identity within the health care community embodies personal and professional attributes as well as collaborative relationships ... Ethical Boundaries In Counseling: A Case Study Counseling within a professional field requires that individuals obtain and maintain licenses that assure compliance to legal and ethical principles and standards. The provision of licensing in the state of Arizona is governed by the Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Examiners and follows a code of ethics and legal statutes. Codes of ethics from professional associations are included in state regulations governing the practice of counseling and psychotherapy and ignorance of these codes and regulations does not excuse problematic behavior (Welfel, 2015). These ethical standards provide a framework in which a healthcare provider may work to best serve a client while protecting all parties involved to the best of their ability. As such ... The optimal therapeutic alliance is achieved when both the counselor and the client come to the shared beliefs with regard to the goals of treatment and view the methods as effective and relevant (Ardito & Rabellino, 2011). Within this definition the relationship becomes a bond in which the client shares belief systems surrounding treatment goals and outcomes, rather than the concentration on conventional relationship ideology. Similar to the discussion of transference and countertransference, boundaries are established to protect the client and the counselor both inside therapeutic settings and outside of the treatment realm. In examples of clients and counselors that are involved in outside support groups, confidentiality is respected to protect the therapeutic process. In other circumstances, the counselor adheres to ethical codes and standards where by protecting the relationship by conducting meetings in a professional manner and maintaining personal information about the client as agreed upon in client consent. There is an ethical obligation to care for all patients with beneficence, non–maleficence, and confidentiality and as such develop a privileged and trusted relationship by addressing the patients' needs instead of our own (Aravind, Krishnaram & Thasneem, 2012). New Zealand : Electric Technology 's Professional Bodies New Zealand: Electric Technology's Professional Bodies [Student's Name] [Institution Title] Introduction Professional bodies are also known as professional associations, professional organization or professional society. These are duly recognized institutions whose aim is to further and promote a given profession to serve the best interest of its members and the general public (Harvey, 2014). According to the book entitled Role of Professional Bodies in Higher Education Quality Monitoring, a professional body has three significant roles to play (Harvey, Mason, & Ward, 1995). First, a professional body has the role to protect the best interest of the general public; second, it also stands to act as a representative of a given profession to stand in behalf of its practitioners that would pursue their goal towards professional development; and finally, a professional body acts to protect the self–interest of the organization in aid of securing its personal privileges and power to control the profession for which it stands to represent (Harvey, Mason, & Ward, 1995). An online source offers a similar identification of the functions of a professional body. However, in this source the professional body performs more than three functions. Aside from the previously identified roles of the professional body, it also serves as regulating body that sets the standards for a given profession (Total Professions Contributors, 2015). Essay about Professionalism Professionalism The Merriam–Webster Online Dictionary defines professionalism as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. Yet the White Paper on Pharmacy Student Professionalism says it is displaying values, beliefs and attitudes that put the needs of another about your personal needs. There is still another definition. The Medical Professionalism Project says professionalism is the basis of medicine's contract with society. To help keep prestige in the pharmacy profession, family physicians should no longer prescribe medications and should only write the ailment on the prescription. This would allow pharmacists, who are the drug experts, to prescribe the drugs. This only makes sense to let doctors figure out what is wrong and the pharmacist to make the correct decision on the prescription. Half the time the pharmacist has to call the doctor anyways because they prescribed the wrong medicine or the wrong dosage. The other allegation of pharmacists tricking patients into declining their counseling is hilarious in my opinion. This scenario is like any other prejudice view, a couple of bad pharmacists make the entire profession look bad. Although I have never worked in a pharmacy, I would rather believe that a pharmacist would not do that to a patient. I have more faith in the profession. If, however, this is a common practice, there is not really much anyone can do about it. The only thing you can do is be the best pharmacist you can be, and if you do the right thing people will follow you and do the right thing. Being a professional does not automatically gain a person prestige. Prestige is earned by the amount of time and effort it took to get to where you are at. The knowledge needed to keep drugs from interacting and making sure people are safe should be how prestige of pharmacists is scored, not by how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today, the equipment have grooves on them to enable to the ball to spin differently at contact. This now allows the players to fly the ball farther as well as spin a ball back when it makes contact with the green. The more control a golfer has over the ball the better they will be able to play. Putters have changed the game with the popular new item being fatter grips. Fatter grips can help the players have a firm grip allowing them to make more putts. In the past couple years, the big controversy was to allow the belly putter. This is a putter where the shaft leads all the way up to the golfer's stomach. This allows them to keep the club align with their body. The PGA ruled them illegal just last year. This was a very important decision because players had to switch over from using those types of putters to the normal putter with the grip in both hands. Top golfers such as Adam Scott had to make that switch. Though this did not affect him as he has won back to back trophies to begin his 2016 campaign. In fact, CanGo has recently been recognized by the Hudson Valley Professional Business Association, affirming the fact that CanGo is a company on the rise rather than a small, independent start–up with no expectations. Unfortunately, CanGo has not embraced the concept of strategic planning, which lays out and determines the direction a company plans to take over the next several years. According to John E. On a macro level, for instance, business (especially ecommerce) is conducted in the global marketplace. Aided by the Internet and rapid improvements in technology, more and more individuals from all over the world have access to the products and services provided by today's businesses. From a micro point of view, meanwhile, strategic planning will inject a needed sense of purpose and direction to CanGo. Joining The International Society For Technology Joining the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) can offer opportunities to network with a group of people that have similar interest in technology. ISTE is a professional association that can help me strengthen, better yet, build my personal network of professional friendships. This organization, with its many members, has the potential to create opportunities for its members to improve leadership ability and understanding of "technology usage" in the classroom with students. Through exploration I found press releases and news articles that educated me about the billions of dollars that have been allocated to the Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants Program (SSAEG), Title IV, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). (Lewis 2016) This is important for technology specialist and users of educational technology, and teachers because they need to know that financial support is being given to help our students have access to various technologies. Yes, ISTE is pushing legislation that will support the things that I may want to do in my classroom. I know in my school, I would like to research this and see if my school might be able to get dollars from this grant to update our equipment. • 37. Life Essay : What Is The Meaning Of Life What is the meaning of life? For some people, it is to live for another person. For others, it is to live for themselves. Personally, I believe that people live to achieve goals that they have set in their lifetime, either if it is short or long term. I joined a gymnastics class when I was eight years old, and enjoyed being there for almost a year. At the beginning, I was in the third grade and to me, every subject was a piece of cake and there were no heaps of homework given from school, so I had an abundance of free time on my hands. Then I transitioned into fourth grade, and I suddenly had a pile of homework everyday that I couldn't do, because I had gymnastics class everyday for two hours. During fourth grade, I had a sudden passion to become a doctor in the future, and with my grades that are considered almost failing, my parents would lecture me about how my grades will not allow me to become a doctor. Because of that, I had to choose to either stay in gymnastics, or to spend more time on school work to improve my grades. When reaching their dreams, people must sacrifice factors that distract them from achieving their goal and by doing so, they become more determined to reach their dreams as shown in the play, A Raisin in the Sun, and by the professional tennis player, Roger Federer. In the play, A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, Walter Lee Younger, Lena Younger's son, had given away $6,500 of his father's insurance money to Willy Harris, thinking that he ... • 41. Celebrity Puppets Essay Celebrity Puppets The concept of using sports stars to market non–sport items has soared to new heights. Every corporation in the world is trying to get the edge over their competitors. The classic example is that of the "Cola Wars." During the 1980s, Pepsi and Coca Cola began an advertising slugfest, in which Pepsi emerged victorious by using Madonna and Michael Jackson as puppets in their commercials. These two companies, as well as thousands of others, have taken advantage of exposing celebrities in their commercials and advertisements. This is done as a means to persuade the public that these products are worth buying. As the years went by, marketers began to realize that in America, sports imagery constituted the most popular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is how companies view their celebrity endorsers and partners: the companies see that it can bring in a profit from the celebrities on field successes. To make it look as though these celebrities are not being used, the companies pay them a small dividend as a thank you. In essence, the companies are controlling said celebrities. In the case of Mr. Owens, by dangling him in front of the public eye, the company holds him by the strings to make him do as they wish through a pay–off. The last decade has seen the emergence of a new breed of celebrities onto the marketing scene. These celebrities are not involved in sports that society easily recognizes. Instead, they are the bowlers of the PBA Tour and the drivers of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. As late as the early 1990s bowling tournaments were named after their specific location and bowlers were viewed as just that, bowlers. Advancements in bowling ball technology created a more competitive field of bowlers and a new and younger generation of marketers has realized that these bowlers are a great source of advertising for their products. As a result, today's PBA bowlers wear patches with their sponsors on them. Some have even gone as far as placing their major sponsors' logo on their spare balls. These sponsors include Odor Eaters, Pepsi, Miller High Life, Holiday Inn, and Baby Ruth, to name a few. NASCAR, the nation's fastest growing sport, has received sponsor money since its creation. ... Professional Demeanor As A Nurse Association According to the National Student Nurse Association (NSNA), "nursing is identified as a profession because it requires both extensive education in science and specialized training but simply working in an identified profession does not automatically make one a professional." The NSNA describes professionalism as a great deal more than just a degree or credentials, but as entailing a certain work ethic, attitude, code of conduct, appearance and communication style. It is very crucial to maintain a professional demeanor as a nurse not only for the profession perspective in itself, but to instill faith in your health care team, patients and their families (NSNA). So what is the benefit of adopting a professional demeanor when working as a nurse? How you act in any situation speaks volumes about your character and can convey confidence with your patients, or completely shatter their faith in you (Gill, 2014). This is where communication and clinical ethics will really come into play throughout your career. The use of autonomy, beneficence, non–maleficence, justice and nursing code of conduct will be pivotal throughout your mind your entire career! The Florida Bar's Board of Governors concurred, and after lengthy consideration, the Florida Supreme Court entered its order adopting the rules, effective 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 1987, in place of the Code of Professional Responsibility. The Kutak Commission found that the Code of Professional Responsibility, including the varying standards found in the Canons, EC's and the DR's, were cumbersome and difficult to apply in the practical resolution of ethical dilemmas arising in the everyday practice of law. It wasn't until 1494, however, when Luca Pacioli, a Venetian merchant, wrote Summa de Arithmetica, Geometrio, Proportioni et Proportionalita. His writings described a two–entry system of debits and credits, which became the basis for modern accounting systems. In 2005, Ascend was organized to be the largest Pan–Asian organization in North America to promote leadership and global business potential within the Pan–Asian population. Ascend works to represent the 32 ethnic groups that make up Asia, as well as provide them with the opportunities and connections to help them climb the corporate ladder. They work to confront the discrimination and bias that Pan–Asians face within the corporate community. Jane Hyun, author of Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling and founder/president of Hyun & Associates, describes the "Bamboo Ceiling" that Pan–Asians face in the American corporate world as one based in severe cultural differences. She claims that the way Asia and America handles those who defy authority or step out of line (regarding being assertive and direct when wanting promotions or leadership roles) are total opposites. Hyun states that in Asia, "the loudest duck gets shot", while in America, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" (Hewlett). Pan–Asians are therefore left feeling stagnant in their career, never speaking up and demanding what they want, even when they rightfully deserve it. Founded in 1906, the club is among the most successful teams in Italy. In the 1940s the Grande Torino, one of the strongest teams of that era, won five consecutive league titles. This successful era in the club's history ended abruptly on May 4th, 1949, when a plane carrying the whole team crashed near Turin, killing the whole team on board, including players, coaching staff and two executives. The plane crash of 1949 not only buried one of the strongest teams of that time in Europe, but also has left a seemingly unhealed stigma on the entire organization and its supporters. The crash changed a powerful winning machine into a weak team hovering between the elite and the second tier of Italian football. Discussion Organizational culture is a crucial element of every organization; hence it comes as no surprise that it has received much scholarly attention. While it is impossible to summarize all research on organizational culture in a single piece, a number of fundamental studies must be noted. Barney (1986) proposed that organizational culture might be a source of sustained competitive advantage. • 67. The 's General Perception Of The Absence Of A Professional... Another main issue that draws translation back from the label of status is the society´s general perception of the absence of a professional image. As pointed out by Darwish (2010: 46), "professions have become a fundamental element of modern civilization and professionals possess specialist knowledge and skills that modern society has come to rely on in its daily functioning". In other words, a professional is called as such because he/she possesses special skills and knowledge in an academic subject. Moreover, as stated by Cheetham and Chivers (2005: 4), "certain crafts depend heavily on theoretical knowledge and certain established professions have little or no theoretical base". If we take a close look about the statement made by Cheetham and Chivers and apply it into translation, we can realize that translation throughout history was a craft that was carried out mostly without much theoretical basis. The reason for this is because people from the past were more concerned with communication and transfer of technology and knowledge. So, study about the very same craft of translating was almost inexistent since the interest was channeled into other more "relevant" fields. As a consequence of this, translation was put aside for the most part of history until it deservedly became an academic discipline with an increasing volume of literature being contributed into the field we call translation studies. But, it does not seem that people outside of the field know about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
