The On Wood Type Of Artwork By Grupo Mondongo
'Calavera, Skull 4', 2009, is a series of plasticine on wood type of artwork by Grupo Mondongo is
one of the most eye catching pieces of art at the Museum of Fine Arts. Grupo Mondongo is a group
of Argentinian Artists; Julian Laffitte, Agustina Picasso, and Manuel Mendanha. They have created
many other similar types of art that is just as spectacular such as , but nothing caught my attention
like 'Skull 4'. I chose this piece because it is not only beautiful from afar but also up close. Grupo
Mondongo's medium choice is quite new and their collage is quite extraordinary, its basically a
sculpture of small things that most people have likely seen, put together to make it look like a skull
in a size of about 5 foot by 4 foot. The artist probably chose to make it a skull because Calavera is a
sugar skull that is eaten on days leading up to 'The Day of the Dead' in most Latin American
countries. The title of the artwork is obviously shown in the sculpture, it shows a skull and has a
picture of a skull. The references to these sculptures has a lot of different historical paintings such
as, "The Last Supper", "Lady with an Ermine", "The Great waves of Kanagawa" and "Michael
Jackson and Bubbles." There are also famous movies such as "King Kong," "Star Wars," and "The
Terminator." The first thing you notice about sculpture is the texture of it, it feels smooth, like its
made of a clay yet it has a lot of depth and value, the skull itself isn't proportional since it is tilted to

Ambiguity Of Artwork
To me, being seen means that one individual or group of people are recognized for their actions.
While this definition is vague and ambiguous, it is a basic description of what being seen means to
me. The ambiguity of the definition can be compared to the artwork in the "Do you see me?" exhibit
in Diggs Gallery. Artwork is open to interpretation and me and my peers discussed our differing
interpretations on the exhibits. In addition to being recognized for actions, I think being seen is
being equal and understood in society. In the exhibit majority of the artwork was geared towards
inequality. Whether it was displayed through artwork that portrayed relationships with father and
son, like artist Zun Lee displayed; or through artwork with siblings

3 Artwork Analysis
Presentation of 3 Artworks Introduction Art is created and enjoyed by various individuals across the
world for different reasons. An Artwork expands and extends our shared visual language and helps
in developing new ways of seeing familiar things (Tomaž 29–32). It also assists in interpreting
events and new situations through different perspectives. The values and focus of artwork in the
new world are finding their footing and taking completely new directions. In the new world, there
are echoes of artistic movement and postmodern tradition that is mainly considering originality over
a technicality when it comes to artwork (Sooful 2). Today, especially with improved technology,
artists have designed new artistic skills that facilitate them to develop an artwork that is highly
skillful and unique at the same time. The field of artistic has greatly expounded and has
accommodated individuals with varying skills that have significantly improved the artwork (Sooful

From a distance, the golden fish as portrayed by Fukahori were alive swirling and swimming within
the bowl. However, there are no real fish but only the three–dimensional sculptures that appear
incredible. The golden fish have been painted on multiple layers revealing more details about the
fish resulting in a fantastic optical illusion. Fukahori paints the goldfish using a poured resin
bringing the concept of three dimensions and an illusion aspect that makes the goldfish appear alive
and swimming across the bowl. What makes Riusuke Fukahori 3D Illusion Sculptures to be a paint
of the new world is the use of complex poured resin and the concept of three–dimension. Most of
the artists usually concentrate on two–dimension sculpture, but Riusuke Fukahori uses the three–
dimensional concept that makes the fish appear as if they are swimming (Mcqueeney

Abstract
This report examines the history of the artist Pablo Picasso and his famous painting of the Guernica.
Artwork Analysis Report
Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881, in Malaga, Spain. His full name is Pablo Diego José
Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad
Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso; a very long name representing a variety of relatives. Picasso's
mother was Doña Maria Picasso y Lopez. His father was Don José Ruiz Blasco, a painter and art
teacher. According to Biography (2017), "A serious and prematurely world–weary child, the young
Picasso possessed a pair of piercing, watchful black eyes that seemed to mark him destined for
greatness...when I was a child, my mother said to me, if you become a soldier, you'll be a general. If
you become a monk you'll end up as the pope, Instead, I became a painter and wound up as
Picasso". Picasso was a poor student but he displayed an extraordinary talent for drawing at a very
young age. According to Biography (2017), "Picasso's father began teaching him to draw and paint
when he was a child, and by the time he was 13 years old, his skill level had surpassed his father's".
Soon, Picasso lost interest to do any schoolwork and he chose to draw instead. Picasso stated in
Biography (2017), "For being a bad student, I was banished to the 'calaboose,' a bare cell with
whitewashed walls and a bench to sit on," he later remembered. "I liked it there, because I took
along a sketch pad and drew incessantly... I could have stayed there forever, drawing without
stopping"(Picasso 2017).
Pablo Picasso became a Cubist Spanish painter, who painted the image named Guernica in the 1937.
From 1927 onward, Picasso was part of the surrealism movement, which led him into Cubism.
Cubists painting are objects that are broken apart and reassembled in an abstracted form. It
highlights their composite geometric shapes and depicting them from multiple simultaneous
viewpoints in order to create cubism shock. According to the Spanish Arts web page (2011), " The
title 'Guernica' refers to the city that was

Dividing Koger's Artwork Analysis
By dividing Koger's artwork into three rows, a salient feature in each row is perceptible. The salient
feature in the top, middle and bottom row is the human face of the sky, the human face in the clouds
and the horses, respectively. Although this artwork is aesthetically pleasing, it doesn't have a definite
focal point.
Lines, in Marijke's artwork, including the flowing curved lines representing the hair or mane of the
two humans and horses and thin outlines of objects (clouds, horses and the anomalous object) add a
subtle intricacy into the painting. These 'details' use combinations of flowing, curved or angular
lines etcetera. Throughout this painting, implied lines are abundant. For example, the galloping
horses, painted with the illusion

The Artwork of Arles Bust
The artwork I've chosen is the "Arles bust". It's a sculpture showing allegedly Julius Caesar. The
only part found in the Rhone River, near Arles, is the bust. It has no title but we often refers to him
under the name of "Arles bust". Its dimension are life–size. The category it belongs to is spatial arts.
The author is unknown and will probably never be found : back to the Ancient Rome, sculptors were
rarely known. According to the facts that it's supposed to be the only representation of Caesar during
his lifetime, and that Arles became a Roman colony in 49 BC, we can suppose that this sculpture
was realized between 49 BC and 44 BC (because he was killed in 44 BC). The commissioner was
probably Caesar himself, or someone close to him : during the Ancient Rome, wealthy admirers of
politicians often paid for those kind of gift (which were quite expensive). It can also be a part of his
family : sculptures were also a way for the descendants of aristocratic family to show their
ancestors. This sculpture was discovered by the French Department of Subaquatic Archaeological
Research in 2007, with about 700 other artifacts from the Ancient Rome. It was on view in the
exhibition "César, le Rhone pour mémoire", along with the other discoveries.
In this part of the sculpture, we see Caesar, without a nose and with an already important hair loss
that he hid, as Suetonius reports, by bringing his hair o the front of his head. Because it's supposed
to be the oldest representation of

The Importance Of Gsa's Artwork
Finally being recovered after many years of stolen property. Artwork is starting a new beginning.
Since forever ago people have always stolen artwork for the money, and later resold it. Federal
works are still in the process to recover and save the artwork that was stolen, even from many years
ago. A few people that are with GSA's Office are many investigators. Going undercover and
searching for the loss artwork. 'Items owned by the U.S. government that have been going missing,
many dating back to the New Deal era of the 1930s'–from the New York Times 2015, is clearly
stating that robbery has been going way back. And nobody really took It to consideration of finding

From what I have seen, you can make a piece of art out of anything as long as it looks good and has
an interesting story behind the making of it. When I went to the Zuckerman Museum of Art on the
Kennesaw State University Campus; I saw amazing pieces of artwork. From what I have seen in the
section of Sleight of Hand, there are a few images that show an important message from artwork
that they found precious. According to these postcards with images on them. There is an image that

Artworks: Marcel Duchamp's The Fountain
Artworks usually include objects and ideas behind it. There are some pieces of arts that emphasize
on the object, and there are some arts that use the object to express the artist's idea. In my opinion,
Marcel Duchamp's "The fountain" is an example that artists use object to express ideas, and Claes
Oldenburg's "Clothespin" is an example of artwork is an object. Marcel Duchamp used his work to
convey the idea that art is not in the object itself but rather in the context we put it in. His artwork
"The Fountain" was a urinal bought from a plumbing supply house, signed, and put in display.
Although the piece of art is just one object, I think "The Fountain" is an artwork of ideas. By
placing an ordinary, unexpressive object in the art context,

Artwork: Primavera By Sandro Botticelli
Sandro Botticelli Artwork:
Primavera
Botticelli was revered as an unaccomplished, poor, and barely noticed artist. He was an artist who
was completely consumed by the world of art. This was a period of great cultural change lasting
from the 14th century until the 16th century in Europe. During this time period is where we find the
Primavera, also known as Allegory of Spring. This masterpiece is currently located in Florence,
Italy at The Galleria degli Uffizi. The painting consists of nine figures located in a forested area with
all figures standing within a open meadow. The painting consists of all mythological characters.

Also in the painting is Floras former self Chloris. Chloris is depicted having flowers come out of her
mouth standing next to Zephyr who is the one who turned her into Floras as an apology. Botticelli
shows that he follows the mythological characters storylines in great detail. The gods and goddesses
are painted in their greek sculpture form. This could be derived from his followings of Antonio
Pollaiuolo and Andrea del Verrocchio. Botticelli did make the figures more elongated and flowing
with their clothing and hair. The surroundings around the figures is also derived from mythology
and this can be seen by the myrtle tree in the background which belongs to Venus. Humanism can be
seen through the bodies of the figures in the picture, by showing detail in muscles on Mercury and
the half naked bodies the females depicted. Idealism is shown very much in this piece by how well
Botticelli sticks to the gods and goddesses story lines. The Primavera stands as the largest
mythological painting of the Early Renaissance. It is also a very fine example of the use of icons in
greek mythology. Even though Botticelli died as a poor man his works of art still to this day are rich

Greek Artwork Essay
As time keeps moves forward, the sculptures of ancient Greece becomes more accurate and realistic.
It gives us a perspective on the human experience. Not only that, but the sculptures helps the present
day understand about each time period's perspective of the human experience. As sculptures in
Greece keep evolving, the values and culture expands with the different time periods. The first
period in Greece follows the Dark Ages. It is the Archaic and Geometrical period which starts in 600
BC. and ends in 400 BC. The sculptures during this time period appear to be not individualized and
it does not show facial or physical emotion. The sculptures are all similar and their are no
differences. The sculptures of Kouros and Koisos appears to be mainly symmetrical and stiff
indicating that the human body does not matter. The sculptures were unrealistic in terms of no

Ann Hamilton Artwork Analysis
In this particular Artwork of Ann Hamilton, I notice that she constructs a fabricated environment
that was labor intensive and it consist of humans with animals. Most of the Materials used drew my
attention. According to Ann Hamilton's website, Hamilton and assistants laid 750,000 copper
pennies on a honey–coated floor. Behind the pennies sat an isolated figure in plain clothes, wringing
its hands over a honey filled felt hat. And behind the figure was an enclosure of grazing sheep. The
pennies looked like the scales of a gigantic fish. Hamilton used a lot of materials in this installation

The meaning of the two is that honey and pennies can be seen to contrast each other. Honey is
valuable to humans and Bees and Pennies are seen as having little to no value to Humans. There was
also a person who sat and dipped their hands into a felt hat filled with honey and two motorized
mortar and pestles, which ground elements such as a bowl of pennies and a collection of teeth.
According to Ann Hamilton's studio, the grinders were used to juxtapose the biological produced by
humans and were more for the background of the movement and sloshing sound of hand in honey.
There was also a metal chair which the figure sat on while wringing their hand in the honey, bales of
what looks to be Hay, a wooden gate used to separate the sheep from the figure and keep the sheep
in, and a morgue sink used for the sheep to bring drinking water in .There is this open space to the

Richard Wagner's Essay Artwork Of The Future
Richard Wagner was one of the most influential nineteenth–century composers behind Beethoven.
In his essay Artwork of the Future, Wagner discusses what he believes should be the future of art
and what art must be thrown out in order to get to the artwork of the future. Throughout his essay
Wagner's use of metaphor and allegory help the reader understand the message he is trying to
convey. Wagner begins his essay by stating that all forms of art are connected in some way. For
example dancing gives music motion while music gives dancing it's rhythm and poetry gives music
words while music gives poetry it's melody. Melody and rhythm for Wagner are just the tip of the
iceberg when it comes to art. Wagner believes that the art of the future needs to combine the three
different forms of art, dance, tone, and poetry. He believes the previous attempts at combining them
failed miserably. Wagner writes, "write symphonies with or without voices, write masses, oratorios–
those sexless operatic embryos!–make songs without words, operas without texts; you produce
nothing that has real life in it" (Wagner, 6). As he wrote it, Wagner believes that oratorios and the
way operas are written in his time do not belong in the artwork of the future. Wagner liked the way

In his extended metaphor, Wagner compares Beethoven to a ship that has set out to find new lands.
The ship begins its journey with Beethoven's 5th symphony and pushes onward to the major piece
of music that is the cornerstone for artwork of the future in Wagner's eyes, Beethoven's 9th
symphony. The anchor that helped Beethoven set ashore on the new land was the word Joy!. This
was the first word sung by the chorus in the last movement of the ninth symphony and was a shock
to the world when it was performed because no symphony before this had vocal elements. This gave
Beethoven's piece more emotion and depth than any other symphony at the

Depiction of Cultural and Religious Beliefs in Artwork
Depiction of cultural and religious beliefs have been an important element in many artworks. The
newly formed Early Christian religion, the Roman culture, and the Greek culture are no exception to
this occurrence. Though living close in proximity to each other, their views differed vastly, in
respect to both religion and culture. Roman and Greek views indulged the "here and now", while
those views of the Early Christians centered on the "hereafter". It is upon the examination of a few
artworks taken from either side, that this contrast becomes extremely apparent. Though there was an
idea of an afterlife in Roman and Greek mythology, it was generally not taken seriously by the
people. Thus the "All that is good in this worldly life, is the only good to seek" mentality prevailed.
In their numerous artworks we see this mentality in the display of scenes of indulgence, of worldly
matters, and finery. In fact, the purpose of the artwork itself is that it is meant to be a beautifying
piece, to grace the homes and villas, and add to the beauty of this world. In the sculpture Discobolos
different aspects of worldly good are identifiable. A youthful man with a well sculpted body poses in
a way that accentuates his muscles, as he prepares to throw a discus. From this sculpture and many
others similar to it, one can see first of all that there is a great respect for sports, which are an in the
moment game. When playing or watching the sport, people receive an

Essay on The Artwork of Henry Matisse
Matisse once said, "A good art work should be like an arm chair in which you could relax at the end
of the day". This statement of Matisse's indicates that artist's artwork should be an art of balance, of
purity and tranquillity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter. An art which is created for
everyone in society and that is like a pacifying influence, something like a good arm chair in which
you could rest from physical fatigue. Moreover, his paintings are about imagination, dreams and
about the nature itself. Matisse's Fauvist paintings "Large Red interior" and "Open Window
Collioure" are great examples of Matisse's attitude and response to the world around him. The
artworks reflect the theories of Fauvists, revealing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The division of the canvas into patches of pure unmixed, warm and strident colour positioned in
powerful contrasts with each other, translating the emotions of Matisse. This creates a balance in the
artwork by applying equilibrium of colours on both of the sides of the canvas. Primitively, this was
the way of Fauvists expressing their emotions, through the use of vibrant colours and compositions.
In this way we can see that Matisse artwork is an art of balance which avoids the depressing subject
matter. Henri Matisse further explores the Fauvists ideas in his art work, through the use of the lines
and shapes. The lines and shapes play a significant role in the work and the lines work together to
establish balance. The balance of lines and shapes is achieved through the geometric and organic
shapes. The painting 'Open window, Collioure' is typically simplified into shapes and forms whose
details are conveyed by untouched brush strokes of roughly the same size. This creates an overall
harmony that is unexpected in a composition of such incompatible and dramatic complementary
colours. Furthermore, the key to his success in using such intense colours was the realization that he
had to simplify his drawing. Matisse was aware that if he intensified the colours for the expressive
effect, it would be necessary to reduce the amount of detail used in drawing shapes and lines of the
objects. Moreover, by applying the same type of

Artwork Research Paper
Artwork can be described as a drawing, painting, or a print. In other words, Artwork does not have
to be a drawing in order for it to be classified as art. Any type of creativity used in a drawing,
painting, or print is considered to be artwork. Drawing is known to be the oldest type of art media.
There are different types of media in each type of artwork. In drawing, there are two groups of
media, dry media and wet media. Dry media consists of metal point, chalk, charcoal, graphite, and
pastel. On the other hand, wet media consists of ink, brush, and wash. However, a pigment and a
binder are used in all types of drawing medias. Artists combine dry and wet media to make unique
and creative artworks. Paintings also have different types of media which consists of encaustic,
tempera paint, oil painting, watercolor, and acrylic. Each media uses a different type of tool than
others. Depending on the artist, mixtures of different types of media are also applied in paintings.
An example of a mixture of medias is a collage. In a collage, there are more than two different
medias in the work which makes it a mixed media. Printmaking can be defined as the process of

starts off being a straight bold line, but then seems to end up being curved into the free forming
shapes. The texture of this is rough all around, the only smooth section that is noticeable on the
statue could be the flat part of the shapes or the bold line as well. However, from the overall, sight
of the piece it seems to be rough, but not too rough. The color of this statue is different than the
others mention, the color of it is a grayish tin color. The color is well known as a mixture of black

heart it shows the meaning of why the artist chose that particular color. Cumul I is a piece made by

that is quite different than the other sculptures. It is strongly referred to human figures once viewing

the space around it is negative. It has shapes of a sphere all around the top with a lay of a

Museum Artwork Analysis
When I started this project I had a strong feeling that I knew what exactly I wanted, I had planned
all the needed steps made all the necessary calls before submitting my proposal. The start of the
project seemed like all was going perfectly well until I had certain issues which I had always
challenged myself with. My main aim was to create canvas images to represent and keep the history
created around the 16th century by sculptors from the Yoruba and Benin cultures in Nigeria. The
first question that created a major problem for me was picking the typeface for the project, I needed
to pick a typeface that did not have that much representation with the western culture and also was
legible and could flow well with the imagery and the designs ... Show more content on

A lot of folk stories tell the origin of the Benin empire but stories are said to say that the people of
Benin empire are related to Oranmiyan who is the last child of Oduduwa. It is said that Oranmiyan
left his son Eweka in Benin to rule over them before he returned back to Ile–Ife which shows the
connection between the Benin and Yoruba culture. I decided to represent the two strong culture by
using shades of black and white and I used two major languages Yoruba and English which are the
language spoken by both the Benin empire and the people from Ile–Ife and also English is the
official language spoken by the people from Nigeria, not forgetting the audience we are trying to
reach the young generation of Nigeria who have forgotten or have no idea of their culture. My
typeface Ubuntu played a major role in the finishing of this particular art because I wanted to show
how intriguing the story of the Benin empire was and still keep sure the design was simple which
the typeface did make sure of, the typeface was overlaid and distorted on the Iyabosa's visage to
depict the fact that she can't be trusted because of the tales that follow her victories, tactics and

Artwork is Not Art Because of Theory
Whether it be writers, painters, sculptors, musicians, or photographers, artists all over the world
have striven to show people their views of the world, of people, and even of the universe itself.
Throughout history the creative urge of man to present to fellow men a different perspective or
representation of life–or even the afterlife–has surfaced time and time again in the form of artwork.
Sometimes it comes through genius and complexity, full of meaning and symbolism. Others, it is
simple and void of any clear meaning at all other than that it is art. Soon, however, there became a
point when the work of art was no longer something one could just look at and understand; the
principle of the matter had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, Modern Art allowed the "culturati" to move even further apart from the rest
of society–they could be even more unique than before because they actually liked this stuff that
was strange and pointless to try to understand if you didn't know the theories it was being painted
behind.
As Wolfe explains, however, it isn't just the "culturati" that cause this great influence on
art theory. Art critics all over the United States want, as always, to fit in with the chic of the chic and
to be able to control what fashions are the craze. It is, after all, their critiques which usually control
the flow of the fashion. Modern Art's foremost critical influences in the United States, as Wolfe
presents in The Painted Word, are Greenberg, Rosenberg, and later, Steinberg.
Greenberg believed that art was heading into a final destination of "purity", and that the
final destination of all that is truly art is what he called "Flatness" (Wolfe 49).
Essentially what this meant was that because the painting is indeed a flat surface made to appear
like a three dimensional plane by the painter, most painting was illusion. They began to conclude
that the two–dimensionality of the canvas plane was what was important, not the illusion they could
create on it. Greenberg seemed intense on the point of flatness–as Wolfe puts it, it became "an
obsession,

Essay on The Artwork of William Hogarth
The Artwork of William Hogarth
The artwork of William Hogarth is influenced greatly by social factors and the culture of eighteenth
century England. In many of his works, Hogarth satirizes English society, rich and poor alike. His
paintings and engravings depict the society of which he lived, with the costumes and ways of life of
the times all shown in his work. Much of the time he is being satirical, exaggerating some of the
faults of the people, other times he is being bitingly realistic in his views. It seems no–one is safe
from his caricatures, from the lords and ladies, to slaves, servants, prostitutes, criminals and the
poor.
Overall, his work shows the culture of a broad cross section of the people of England during this
time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Hogarth himself wrote, "Beer Street and Gin Lane were done when the dredfull [sic]
consequences of gin drinking was at its height." (Webster 1978) The prints were published partly to
support the 1751 Gin Act. In an earlier work, Strolling Actresses in a Barn, Hogarth also referred to
another Act, the 1737 Act against strolling players. The Act is depicted on the left side of the
engraving showing that the performance will be the women's last. Social references include the fact
that there were many people of African descent in England at the time, as is shown by the servant
and the black actress in this print. The man peeping in at the top right which he possibly could have
paid to do because "Men at this time could pay to peek at the actresses changing...a seedy,
disordered side to a play filled with magic and goddesses." (peopleplayuk.org.uk) Some of the
actresses look silly here, similar to the foolish side of people Hogarth illustrated in his earlier picture
about the bursting of the South Sea bubble.
Hogarth's early print The South Sea Scheme is about the disastrous stock market crash of 1720,
where many English people lost a great deal of money. In the bottom left corner, he shows
Protestant, Catholic and Jewish figures gambling, while in the middle there is a huge merry–go–
round like machine, which people are getting on to ride. At the top is a goat, written below which is
"Who'l Ride" and this shows the stupidity of people in

Humanism's Influence On Artwork
Humanism's Influence on Artwork
The growth of arts in the Italian Renaissance embodies the values of the humanism present there. As
the ides of the educated changes, so too did their designed artwork, either commissioned or
personally done, reflect that change. As humanism gained more ground in their society, scholars see
the impact arising in the artwork itself. In Michelangelo's David, he displays the growing desire in
humanism to perfect the individual. Unlike previous artists, Michelangelo designs David to look as
beautifully and perfectly created as possibile. In that way, Michelangelo creates the ideal image of
the male human body. He also designs David to be in a relaxed natural pose. Unlike the unnatural
statues of uptight figures

Sports Artwork Research Paper
Artworks are frequently collected for personal gratification, while others choose art for its resale
value. You may actually have an interest somewhere in between the two. Sports art is one area
where both ends of the art appreciation spectrum are evident. If you take pleasure in sports art for
the resale value, you need to appreciate a few things when projecting resale value. What is Sports
Art? Sports Art is any painting, sculpture, or framed photographic image that depicts sports figures,
or sporting events. The types and numbers of pieces are extensive. Artwork with a base theme in
sports ranges from paintings of golf courses, to busts of famous sports figures. The more valuable
pieces of sports art for resale fall into three categories, the players, the venues and the events. The
Players Some of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When determining the resale value of a piece of artwork for a sports venue, consider if the stadium
or ballpark no longer exists. The artistic value of these pieces is expanded when the art shows both a
famous venue and an historic game that was played there. Famous Events Finding value in sports art
can include a blending of the two previously discussed subjects. Paintings and unique photography
from some of the most famous games, matches, or other types of sports events combine both the
venue and the players. There are a few oil prints of Muhammad Ali fights for instance, that are more
valuable than any single print of the celebrated boxer. Researching some of the famous events in
sports will expose you to a number of the more noteworthy participants and the venues where they
performed. If you have an interest in sports art the American Sport Are Museum & Archives
(ASAMA), maintains an extensive collection of valuable art collectibles. Since 1984, they have
been committed to conserving over a thousand valuable pieces of sports

Analysis of Alex Pardee's Artwork
And so he bathed in the blood of the lepers. Why would anyone want to bathe in the blood of a
leper? They're infected people. Rejected. Shunned. Unwanted. Useless. Or is that how society
chooses to view them? Good morning fellow classmates. What is a leper anyway? In the past, it was
simply a disease. When you caught this disease you were isolated. Taken out of society, never to
return again. Your life would never be the same again. As time passed this disease obviously died
out. Nowadays not many people have leprosy in its serious form. But we do have leprosy of a
different sort. This leprosy is even worse than the physical illness. It is something that gets worse

They are now able to understand and empathise with the subculture they have joined so would it
actually seem so different to them now? No it wouldn't, further underlining the fact that we only
label people as being different, of being social lepers, only because we do not understand them.
However if we were a part of what they believe in, i.e. a part of their subculture, then we would no
longer think they are so different. Only an outsider to this subculture would consider them to be
lepers. Again, we humans label that which is not. We have established what it means to be different
and why it is important, but what about the bar of soap at the chicken hand creature's feet? What
would this symbolise? This symbolises the other perspective of this two sided argument of
acceptance. The soap represents the cure for leprosy. The means to be cleaned from this disease. In
the modern world this soap bar would represent the views of people who believe that removing
yourself from a subculture is the true path to acceptance. However, like the size of the soap bar,
these people are very few because we all have an innate need to belong to a community, society,
club, culture or subculture. In short, we all need to feel like we belong somewhere, no matter how
much of an illusion this feeling of belonging is. We desire to be persuaded to believe in something
only to feel accepted and wanted by a community. This image drawn by the talented Alex Pardee

Stolen and Forged Artwork Essay
Stolen and Forged Artwork Since the beginning of its existence, art collecting has been a rather
dangerous endeavor. Artwork fakes and even stolen art have been documented since the days of
ancient Rome. Even then, the Romans often sought classical Greek artwork and sculptures, and
more often than not, works purchased were by Roman artists trying to imitate classic Greek works
(Kaufman 36). Today, modern day forgers are still trying to fool art enthusiasts and are becoming
increasingly sophisticated in their methods.
Acting as a double edged sword, advances in science allow for easier detection of a forged work;
however, the same techniques are used by the forgers to make their works more authentic looking.
Recently, art ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"Fakes are works of art made to resemble existing ones; Forgeries are pieces that are passed off as
original works by known artists" (Conklin 48).
People who purchase art expect that their acquisitions are worth what they pay. Discovering the
work to be a worthless fake will cause them to lose confidence in the art market and make them
wary of buying art in the future. Forgery is also costly because it has a tendency to provide false
information about an artist's body of work, sometimes temporarily altering our perception of art
history. Fakers and forgers go to great lengths to fool the art industry. They may alter or add a
signature, complete an unfinished work, misinterpret the work of a pupil as the work of a master,
create an original composition similar in color and style to the work of a known artist, or duplicate
an existing work. They mix paints from the same ingredients used by the original artist, use old
canvas to paint on, and artificially age the work by cracking the surface varnish of oil paintings
through chemical treatment, or by simply applying pressure with one's hands over the edge of a
table.
Sculptures and pottery are literally buried and dirtied to achieve the desired aged look (Conklin 69).
When it comes to detecting fakes and forgeries,

Understanding the Artwork of Domenikos Theotokopoulos
View of Toledo Like many historical artists, it is impossible to understand the artwork of
Domenikos Theotokopoulus without understanding his historical context. Theotokopoulus received
the nickname El Greco, which means the Greek, during his lifetime, and this nickname reveals a
significant detail about his identity as a man, as well as his identity as an artist. This was because his
nationality played an important role in his artwork, so that his nationality could almost be described
as synonymous with his work during that time. "The Mediterranean world of the sixteenth century–
the world of El Greco– was a world in which three civilisations coexisted, interacted and clashed:
the Latin West; the Greek Orthodox East; and the civilization of Islam. As a Cretan, and hence a
subject of Venice, Domenikos Theotokopoulos, known as El Greco (1541–1614), belonged both to
the Greek East and to Latin Christendom. He and his generation lived much of their lives in the
shadow of the confrontation between Christendom and Islam." View of Toledo, which is El Greco's
only pure landscape, is a wonderful example of this cultural clash that highlighted El Greco's
artistry, and it provides a stark example of this confrontation between cultures, as it features a
dramatic difference between the earth and the sky in the landscape of Toledo, Spain. El Greco was
born in the Greek island of Crete. Although he engaged in other forms of art, El Greco was best
known as a painter, particularly a

culture during the ancient period. The art history of ceramic ware in Iran may be traced back into the
prehistoric period. When agriculture developed and farming began on the highlands of Iran by
ancient peoples of this land, inhabitants created tableware of dried clay so as to serve their needs. In
Iran, ceramic ware production has a remarkable and long history (Golombek et al. 7, 73). Because

The bowl is made of porcelain coated in over–glaze enamel and under–glaze blue. Widely known
for the broad assortment of exceptional art works, China is considered one of the biggest porcelain
manufacturers in the world. Ever since the ancient period, the diversity of the forms of glaze, clay,
and the differences in firing methods performed by various furnaces have produced masterpieces of
over–glaze and under–glaze porcelain, yellow porcelain, red porcelain, black porcelain, white
porcelain, blue porcelain, and celadon, to name quite a few (Kelun 2). The outcomes were some of
the most beautiful porcelain objects to originate from the Qing dynasty. The Qing dynasty's white
porcelain, in comparison to that of the 15th–century Iranian bowl, is lighter in color intensity. Qing
ceramic manufacturers at the imperial furnaces were successful in creating exotic porcelain wares
with the over–glaze and under–glaze design. The dish shows a wide, round rim that highlights the
over–glaze method. The set of colors used–– blue, red, white–– was created by the application of
enamels. This design, according to Kleiner (2008), reveals major social changes in China during the
Qing dynasty. The dish has a curved rim with a polychrome enamel design, showing a picture of a

The On Wood Type Of Artwork By Grupo Mondongo

  • 1. The On Wood Type Of Artwork By Grupo Mondongo 'Calavera, Skull 4', 2009, is a series of plasticine on wood type of artwork by Grupo Mondongo is one of the most eye catching pieces of art at the Museum of Fine Arts. Grupo Mondongo is a group of Argentinian Artists; Julian Laffitte, Agustina Picasso, and Manuel Mendanha. They have created many other similar types of art that is just as spectacular such as , but nothing caught my attention like 'Skull 4'. I chose this piece because it is not only beautiful from afar but also up close. Grupo Mondongo's medium choice is quite new and their collage is quite extraordinary, its basically a sculpture of small things that most people have likely seen, put together to make it look like a skull in a size of about 5 foot by 4 foot. The artist probably chose to make it a skull because Calavera is a sugar skull that is eaten on days leading up to 'The Day of the Dead' in most Latin American countries. The title of the artwork is obviously shown in the sculpture, it shows a skull and has a picture of a skull. The references to these sculptures has a lot of different historical paintings such as, "The Last Supper", "Lady with an Ermine", "The Great waves of Kanagawa" and "Michael Jackson and Bubbles." There are also famous movies such as "King Kong," "Star Wars," and "The Terminator." The first thing you notice about sculpture is the texture of it, it feels smooth, like its made of a clay yet it has a lot of depth and value, the skull itself isn't proportional since it is tilted to ... • 2. Ambiguity Of Artwork To me, being seen means that one individual or group of people are recognized for their actions. While this definition is vague and ambiguous, it is a basic description of what being seen means to me. The ambiguity of the definition can be compared to the artwork in the "Do you see me?" exhibit in Diggs Gallery. Artwork is open to interpretation and me and my peers discussed our differing interpretations on the exhibits. In addition to being recognized for actions, I think being seen is being equal and understood in society. In the exhibit majority of the artwork was geared towards inequality. Whether it was displayed through artwork that portrayed relationships with father and son, like artist Zun Lee displayed; or through artwork with siblings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. 3 Artwork Analysis Presentation of 3 Artworks Introduction Art is created and enjoyed by various individuals across the world for different reasons. An Artwork expands and extends our shared visual language and helps in developing new ways of seeing familiar things (Tomaž 29–32). It also assists in interpreting events and new situations through different perspectives. The values and focus of artwork in the new world are finding their footing and taking completely new directions. In the new world, there are echoes of artistic movement and postmodern tradition that is mainly considering originality over a technicality when it comes to artwork (Sooful 2). Today, especially with improved technology, artists have designed new artistic skills that facilitate them to develop an artwork that is highly skillful and unique at the same time. The field of artistic has greatly expounded and has accommodated individuals with varying skills that have significantly improved the artwork (Sooful 5). Here are the top 3 ... However, there are no real fish but only the three–dimensional sculptures that appear incredible. The golden fish have been painted on multiple layers revealing more details about the fish resulting in a fantastic optical illusion. Fukahori paints the goldfish using a poured resin bringing the concept of three dimensions and an illusion aspect that makes the goldfish appear alive and swimming across the bowl. What makes Riusuke Fukahori 3D Illusion Sculptures to be a paint of the new world is the use of complex poured resin and the concept of three–dimension. Most of the artists usually concentrate on two–dimension sculpture, but Riusuke Fukahori uses the three– dimensional concept that makes the fish appear as if they are swimming (Mcqueeney ... • 4. Artwork Analysis Pablo Picasso Artwork Analysis Ashleyann Mabatid Azusa Pacific University College Abstract This report examines the history of the artist Pablo Picasso and his famous painting of the Guernica. Artwork Analysis Report Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881, in Malaga, Spain. His full name is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso; a very long name representing a variety of relatives. Picasso's mother was Doña Maria Picasso y Lopez. His father was Don José Ruiz Blasco, a painter and art teacher. According to Biography (2017), "A serious and prematurely world–weary child, the young Picasso possessed a pair of piercing, watchful black eyes that seemed to mark him destined for greatness...when I was a child, my mother said to me, if you become a soldier, you'll be a general. If you become a monk you'll end up as the pope, Instead, I became a painter and wound up as Picasso". Picasso was a poor student but he displayed an extraordinary talent for drawing at a very young age. According to Biography (2017), "Picasso's father began teaching him to draw and paint when he was a child, and by the time he was 13 years old, his skill level had surpassed his father's". Soon, Picasso lost interest to do any schoolwork and he chose to draw instead. Picasso stated in Biography (2017), "For being a bad student, I was banished to the 'calaboose,' a bare cell with whitewashed walls and a bench to sit on," he later remembered. "I liked it there, because I took along a sketch pad and drew incessantly... I could have stayed there forever, drawing without stopping"(Picasso 2017). Pablo Picasso became a Cubist Spanish painter, who painted the image named Guernica in the 1937. From 1927 onward, Picasso was part of the surrealism movement, which led him into Cubism. Cubists painting are objects that are broken apart and reassembled in an abstracted form. It highlights their composite geometric shapes and depicting them from multiple simultaneous viewpoints in order to create cubism shock. According to the Spanish Arts web page (2011), " The title 'Guernica' refers to the city that was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Dividing Koger's Artwork Analysis By dividing Koger's artwork into three rows, a salient feature in each row is perceptible. The salient feature in the top, middle and bottom row is the human face of the sky, the human face in the clouds and the horses, respectively. Although this artwork is aesthetically pleasing, it doesn't have a definite focal point. Lines, in Marijke's artwork, including the flowing curved lines representing the hair or mane of the two humans and horses and thin outlines of objects (clouds, horses and the anomalous object) add a subtle intricacy into the painting. These 'details' use combinations of flowing, curved or angular lines etcetera. Throughout this painting, implied lines are abundant. For example, the galloping horses, painted with the illusion ... • 6. The Artwork of Arles Bust The artwork I've chosen is the "Arles bust". It's a sculpture showing allegedly Julius Caesar. The only part found in the Rhone River, near Arles, is the bust. It has no title but we often refers to him under the name of "Arles bust". Its dimension are life–size. The category it belongs to is spatial arts. The author is unknown and will probably never be found : back to the Ancient Rome, sculptors were rarely known. According to the facts that it's supposed to be the only representation of Caesar during his lifetime, and that Arles became a Roman colony in 49 BC, we can suppose that this sculpture was realized between 49 BC and 44 BC (because he was killed in 44 BC). The commissioner was probably Caesar himself, or someone close to him : during the Ancient Rome, wealthy admirers of politicians often paid for those kind of gift (which were quite expensive). It can also be a part of his family : sculptures were also a way for the descendants of aristocratic family to show their ancestors. This sculpture was discovered by the French Department of Subaquatic Archaeological Research in 2007, with about 700 other artifacts from the Ancient Rome. It was on view in the exhibition "César, le Rhone pour mémoire", along with the other discoveries. In this part of the sculpture, we see Caesar, without a nose and with an already important hair loss that he hid, as Suetonius reports, by bringing his hair o the front of his head. When I went to the Zuckerman Museum of Art on the Kennesaw State University Campus; I saw amazing pieces of artwork. Marcel Duchamp used his work to convey the idea that art is not in the object itself but rather in the context we put it in. He was an artist who was completely consumed by the world of art. This was a period of great cultural change lasting from the 14th century until the 16th century in Europe. During this time period is where we find the Primavera, also known as Allegory of Spring. This masterpiece is currently located in Florence, Italy at The Galleria degli Uffizi. Also in the painting is Floras former self Chloris. Chloris is depicted having flowers come out of her mouth standing next to Zephyr who is the one who turned her into Floras as an apology. Botticelli shows that he follows the mythological characters storylines in great detail. The gods and goddesses are painted in their greek sculpture form. This could be derived from his followings of Antonio Pollaiuolo and Andrea del Verrocchio. Botticelli did make the figures more elongated and flowing with their clothing and hair. The surroundings around the figures is also derived from mythology and this can be seen by the myrtle tree in the background which belongs to Venus. Humanism can be seen through the bodies of the figures in the picture, by showing detail in muscles on Mercury and the half naked bodies the females depicted. Idealism is shown very much in this piece by how well Botticelli sticks to the gods and goddesses story lines. The Primavera stands as the largest mythological painting of the Early Renaissance. It is also a very fine example of the use of icons in greek mythology. Even though Botticelli died as a poor man his works of art still to this day are rich in history and skill as an ... Not only that, but the sculptures helps the present day understand about each time period's perspective of the human experience. As sculptures in Greece keep evolving, the values and culture expands with the different time periods. The first period in Greece follows the Dark Ages. It is the Archaic and Geometrical period which starts in 600 BC. and ends in 400 BC. The sculptures during this time period appear to be not individualized and it does not show facial or physical emotion. The sculptures are all similar and their are no differences. The sculptures of Kouros and Koisos appears to be mainly symmetrical and stiff indicating that the human body does not matter. The sculptures were unrealistic in terms of no muscle tone. Behind the pennies sat an isolated figure in plain clothes, wringing its hands over a honey filled felt hat. And behind the figure was an enclosure of grazing sheep. • 17. Richard Wagner's Essay Artwork Of The Future Richard Wagner was one of the most influential nineteenth–century composers behind Beethoven. In his essay Artwork of the Future, Wagner discusses what he believes should be the future of art and what art must be thrown out in order to get to the artwork of the future. Throughout his essay Wagner's use of metaphor and allegory help the reader understand the message he is trying to convey. Wagner begins his essay by stating that all forms of art are connected in some way. For example dancing gives music motion while music gives dancing it's rhythm and poetry gives music words while music gives poetry it's melody. Melody and rhythm for Wagner are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to art. Wagner believes that the art of the future needs to combine the three different forms of art, dance, tone, and poetry. He believes the previous attempts at combining them failed miserably. Wagner writes, "write symphonies with or without voices, write masses, oratorios– those sexless operatic embryos!–make songs without words, operas without texts; you produce nothing that has real life in it" (Wagner, 6). As he wrote it, Wagner believes that oratorios and the way operas are written in his time do not belong in the artwork of the future. Wagner liked the way that ... The anchor that helped Beethoven set ashore on the new land was the word Joy!. • 18. Depiction of Cultural and Religious Beliefs in Artwork Depiction of cultural and religious beliefs have been an important element in many artworks. The newly formed Early Christian religion, the Roman culture, and the Greek culture are no exception to this occurrence. Though living close in proximity to each other, their views differed vastly, in respect to both religion and culture. Roman and Greek views indulged the "here and now", while those views of the Early Christians centered on the "hereafter". It is upon the examination of a few artworks taken from either side, that this contrast becomes extremely apparent. Though there was an idea of an afterlife in Roman and Greek mythology, it was generally not taken seriously by the people. Thus the "All that is good in this worldly life, is the only good to seek" mentality prevailed. In their numerous artworks we see this mentality in the display of scenes of indulgence, of worldly matters, and finery. In fact, the purpose of the artwork itself is that it is meant to be a beautifying piece, to grace the homes and villas, and add to the beauty of this world. In the sculpture Discobolos different aspects of worldly good are identifiable. A youthful man with a well sculpted body poses in a way that accentuates his muscles, as he prepares to throw a discus. From this sculpture and many others similar to it, one can see first of all that there is a great respect for sports, which are an in the moment game. • 20. Essay on The Artwork of Henry Matisse Matisse once said, "A good art work should be like an arm chair in which you could relax at the end of the day". This statement of Matisse's indicates that artist's artwork should be an art of balance, of purity and tranquillity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter. An art which is created for everyone in society and that is like a pacifying influence, something like a good arm chair in which you could rest from physical fatigue. Moreover, his paintings are about imagination, dreams and about the nature itself. The division of the canvas into patches of pure unmixed, warm and strident colour positioned in powerful contrasts with each other, translating the emotions of Matisse. This creates a balance in the artwork by applying equilibrium of colours on both of the sides of the canvas. Primitively, this was the way of Fauvists expressing their emotions, through the use of vibrant colours and compositions. In this way we can see that Matisse artwork is an art of balance which avoids the depressing subject matter. Henri Matisse further explores the Fauvists ideas in his art work, through the use of the lines and shapes. The lines and shapes play a significant role in the work and the lines work together to establish balance. The balance of lines and shapes is achieved through the geometric and organic shapes. The painting 'Open window, Collioure' is typically simplified into shapes and forms whose details are conveyed by untouched brush strokes of roughly the same size. This creates an overall harmony that is unexpected in a composition of such incompatible and dramatic complementary colours. Furthermore, the key to his success in using such intense colours was the realization that he had to simplify his drawing. Matisse was aware that if he intensified the colours for the expressive effect, it would be necessary to reduce the amount of detail used in drawing shapes and lines of the objects. Any type of creativity used in a drawing, painting, or print is considered to be artwork. Drawing is known to be the oldest type of art media. There are different types of media in each type of artwork. In drawing, there are two groups of media, dry media and wet media. Dry media consists of metal point, chalk, charcoal, graphite, and pastel. On the other hand, wet media consists of ink, brush, and wash. However, a pigment and a binder are used in all types of drawing medias. Artists combine dry and wet media to make unique and creative artworks. Paintings also have different types of media which consists of encaustic, tempera paint, oil painting, watercolor, and acrylic. Each media uses a different type of tool than others. It is, after all, their critiques which usually control the flow of the fashion. Modern Art's foremost critical influences in the United States, as Wolfe presents in The Painted Word, are Greenberg, Rosenberg, and later, Steinberg. Greenberg believed that art was heading into a final destination of "purity", and that the final destination of all that is truly art is what he called "Flatness" (Wolfe 49). Essentially what this meant was that because the painting is indeed a flat surface made to appear like a three dimensional plane by the painter, most painting was illusion. Understanding the Artwork of Domenikos Theotokopoulos View of Toledo Like many historical artists, it is impossible to understand the artwork of Domenikos Theotokopoulus without understanding his historical context. Theotokopoulus received the nickname El Greco, which means the Greek, during his lifetime, and this nickname reveals a significant detail about his identity as a man, as well as his identity as an artist. This was because his nationality played an important role in his artwork, so that his nationality could almost be described as synonymous with his work during that time. "The Mediterranean world of the sixteenth century– the world of El Greco– was a world in which three civilisations coexisted, interacted and clashed: the Latin West; the Greek Orthodox East; and the civilization of Islam. As a Cretan, and hence a subject of Venice, Domenikos Theotokopoulos, known as El Greco (1541–1614), belonged both to the Greek East and to Latin Christendom. He and his generation lived much of their lives in the shadow of the confrontation between Christendom and Islam." View of Toledo, which is El Greco's only pure landscape, is a wonderful example of this cultural clash that highlighted El Greco's artistry, and it provides a stark example of this confrontation between cultures, as it features a dramatic difference between the earth and the sky in the landscape of Toledo, Spain. The painting is no ordinary pictorial reflection of Delft, but Vermeer put together a collage of buildings from the city to create an enhanced composition. The city has a calm silent tone or mood with no hectic motion. The light blue cloudy sky is an intricate part of the town. The front architectural buildings are darkened by the pending storm–laden clouds and the city ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
