I want to meet the Dalai Lama, or even shake his hand. When I stop to think about it, there's so

Overall I know that I'm going to graduate because I'm pushing hard and all I need to finish is my
Cyber High and keep up my grades and I will graduate. I want to go to Chabot College because it's
the closest place to go to. I am planning to get my associates degree then transfer to Cal State East
Bay University. I don't exactly know the requirements of classes to get into Cal State, but as long
as I get my AA degree I should be fine. I am focused on technology and computers; I like to choose
classes that can be similar to wiring or soldering. I am not that sure if I would be more focused on

I was in ESL programs until I entered junior high school. Learning the language, and trying to keep
up with the class work was a challenge for me. Having friends who spoke my language, and the
English language as well was an advantage I had. Having that extra help and support really made my
school experience challenging, but exciting as well.
Remembering the support I received from those friends creates a need in me to do the same for other
people. I don't only believe that the support that I can give to migrant students as a Mini–Corps
student will help them in succeeding in school, but I believe that an appreciation for school can

At this point in my life, as a person retiring out of an industry, and going back to school for a

Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story – or
great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the end goal or outcome of life that gives life
meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or
her role."
At the time, this event seemed rather insignificant and did not merit remembrance. However, its
catastrophic effects on my attitude that evening may have helped to mold me into the person I have
become. I learned that suffering through such an event, as childish as it was, is quite necessary in
any life. Such pains are part of an interminable cycle and only generate balance in one's life (p. 62,
'Life as Suffering'). Despite my horrid time spent that evening, the laughter brought since the incident
is a worthy tradeoff. Laughter is an all too necessary function of life, just as suffering and the wide
range of other emotions. "Some thinkers would emphasize the importance of sophistication in
humor, but others would say that laughter itself is what is important." Whatever the case may be,
laughter is an important ingredient in life, and must not be taken for granted nor ignored.

A Future Life
In a rocking chair even older than herself, she sits, her body as still as a river on a calm day. The
bright light emitting from the large windows in the living room gives the figure of an old woman
with grayish hair that hangs near her face. But, for her fingers progressing fast in an exact routine,
as an array of different colorful stitches extends from the knitting needles. Tomorrow I will be able
to start a new knitting project, maybe use the blue wool to make new sweaters for the grandchildren.
An unexpected sharp thud of a knock was heard at the door; more than enough to be detected by my
aging ears. As much as it bothers me to get up, I refuse to let the rattling pain in my bones win
against me. It isn't that I get up at all, it just feels more complex than before. I just can't get up too
quickly for a sharp pain may shatter me like glass. I allow my right leg to hold my weight as I move
my left leg upright to hold more of my weight. Once, standing I slowly take steps moving forward
and with every single step I take the cold wooden floor creaks. Growing old shouldn't really stop me
from doing the everyday things in life. They want us to give up and I simply can't allow that.
Yeah, I do gaze at the old woman in the mirror before me. At my age, I would have my feet hanging
from the grave already. The lines in my face are so deep and saggy – like the skin no longer

Standing forty feet high over the clear ocean water with the chilling autumn wind against your
back, getting ready to jump, adrenaline pumps through your veins as you reach out to grab your
best friends hand: 30 seconds later swimming to the top of the water, with a memory neither of
you will ever forget, exclaiming, "let's do it again!" Life is a journey and each day is an adventure.

spur of the moment, whimsical adventure, such as, driving down back roads with no destination,
blasting music, singing at the top of your lungs with your best friends can embody this exact feeling,
as it becomes the only place you want to be. Adventures build character; explore the world, try new
things, find the undiscovered. Often, anything can be turned from a daunting task into an
adventure...good friends, daring mindsets, and the drive to discover can be so powerful. Moments

My Views On My Life
Everyone has their own unique beliefs and motives that push them through their lives. I have many
different beliefs instilled in me that mold my day to day life. These beliefs have been formed either
by learning from my parents, or by personal experiences. One major conviction of mine is the
pursuit of happiness. There are many ways to strive for happiness, and all people are unique in the
fact that no one shares the same goals. My happiness comes from a core of beliefs. Religion is an
extremely important part of my life, and I can thank my mother and father for that. Another belief
of mine is that hard work pays off; in many situations I have been shown that a good work ethic
goes a long way in being successful. I also believe in being an optimist throughout life's trials and
tribulations. Many things can upset me in day to day experiences; however, I believe it to be
crucial to obtain a joyous attitude. These beliefs have become priorities to me and carry me through
my life, and help me to succeed.
To begin with, religion is one aspect of my life that I could not be happy without. My brothers and
I have formed this conviction in the Lord from being taught the right way. My father is the
minister at Sims Hill Christian Church and he has always taken us to every church service held as
long as we were able. It has always been a priority in the Jones' household to read the Bible and to
present ourselves in the correct manner. Without God, the pursuit of happiness
