2. TUESDAY 11TH OCTOBER
• Tuesday 11th October will be our first filming session during lesson time. On this date
we will film background footage in Solihull Town Centre. We will focus on getting
footage of shop fronts relating to our topic of discussion and we will also look for any
advertising or marketing of mobile phones in public places. More footage we will look
at filming is clips of the public walking and using their mobile phones etc. This footage
will be versatile so we can edit it in a number of ways such as creating a time lapse
effect and also blurring so we can overlay statistics. Filming our background footage
first will allow us to experiment with the camera and learn how to use it efficiently
before taking it to our interviews.
3. FRIDAY 14TH OCTOBER
• On Friday 14th October we will travel to Fonehouse in Shirley to conduct our formal
interview. We have agreed with the store to complete this filming at around 11am and
they have also given us permission to film additional background footage in the store.
We will prepare interview questions beforehand and will be fully prepared to use the
camera professionally and efficiently due to practicing on Tuesday. Whilst we are in
Shirley we will film more background footage as there are a number of phone shops
and also it is a busy public area. This will provide us with more footage to work with
and we would like to gather as much as possible so we can experiment with ease and
create the best final outcome possible without being restricted.
4. TUESDAY 18TH OCTOBER
• In this lesson we will finalise our script and Vox Pops questions within class. We will do
this now as we will have our formal interview footage and can therefore make sure the
script flows and works in correlation with our interview and, once completed, we will
be in the best position to film our presented footage around college. We will
incorporate our previously done topic research as that will provide us with statistics
and relevant information to use.
5. FRIDAY 21ST OCTOBER
• In this time slot we will start filming our presenter and all the scripted elements of our
film. We will get as much of that filmed in this time slot as possible but there will be
time at a later date if needed. We will film a lot more footage than we will actually
need as we can then work it in around our other elements depending on what we feel
is the best way to portray our message and entice our target audience of young
people. We will stick to the script for this however it will be presented in a natural style.
We will also conduct a location recce for this footage to make sure we use the most
suitable Mise En Scene throughout.
6. TUESDAY 1ST NOVEMBER
• This would be a good time to complete Vox Pops as it is after lunch and the year 12
lunch falls during the lesson. This means that we will have a lot of opportunity to ask
young people a number of questions. We will conduct these in college as we are
discussing how young people are the affected and also our target audience is
teenagers so by interviewing them they will feel as though they can relate more to our
documentary and their side of the situation is portrayed.
7. FRIDAY 4TH NOVEMBER
• As this is our last week of filming we will utilise the time to conduct more Vox Pops
and gather more background footage. Most of our footage will already be in place by
this point but we will cement this by gathering final bits during our last opportunity to
make sure we have enough and it is all suitable and relevant to our documentary and
topic.
